Bill Ruger's "compromise" during the Clintonian years is a great example of falling into pragmatism from a lack of principle. Strum Ruger is a far better company today than ever. Many gun manufacturers today, are principled, and will not sell to Military and Law Enforcement in the same areas the citizen is prohibited from ownership.
I worked as mr. rugers' man Friday for long enough to appreciate that he was one of the most out of bounds creative intellects of the 20th century. You may not agree with his views, but I assure you individuals like this do not come a long very often!!

I heard he did the same thing for the 1994 ban.
