Thanks again for pointing this out! I finally found my way to visit the place. It is great to see that they maintain these things and allow the public to freely visit them.
Yet another place to check out when I find myself back in Tokyo. Thanks for the tip on this one; I hope Google Translate is able to understand the display descriptions, given there doesn't seem to be English text in them. Have you been to the JAXA site in Tsukuba? It's a nice place to visit, very accessible from Tokyo or as a sidetrip from Mito. But seeing a launch from the Tanegashima Space Center would be one for the bucket list. Timing would be very tricky since launches from Japan are quite rare =|
I have not visited the JAXA site in Tsukuba, yet. It is definitely a bucket list item. About 5 years ago, from afar, I witnessed my first and only rocket launch - a SPaceX rocket from Cape Canaveral in Florida. It was truly a highlight for a child of the early Space Age like myself! I can still "feel" it!
Great video and place! Must visit there as well. Thank you for sharing!
Definitely worth the effort!

Yea, its awesome, isn`t it? I felt like I went through a time warp and Tesla was going to walk around the corner at any moment!
Indeed! @@jpastroguy
Another good one. Now I feel I have to visit the site. Maybe next time when I go back to Japan.
Indeed! You will certainly enjoy it. Clear skies!

Let me know if I can help. It is a big institution and on Google Maps, and a bus line from Mitaka station. Thanks for watching Astrophotography Japan!
