I have always liked this song because so much of it was my life. I was nine when Elvis died and can remember my mom crying when we heard the news on the car radio. I saw what was inside Stretch Armstrong when a couple boys on my school bus played tug-of-war until he split open. I was a senior in high school when the Challenger exploded, probably the most shocking thing I had seen until 9/11. My best friend had a black Trans Am and, of course, we all had big hair. There have been times that I wished I could go back to those times, but I am so glad that I grew up in 19 something and have those memories. I hope you younger folks also have good times to remember
Don’t Laugh at Me is a beautiful amazing song. It was also recently done by Home Free and featured Mark Wills in their version too. He has such an incredible voice.
Senior year, all of us had to do a scrapbook for a final grade. We were given a guideline but, we also could do whatever pages we wanted. One of the pages in mine was a quote. It was, "Life is about looking out the windshields." The past is the back windshield and the future is the front one. 😊 doing my scrapbook was one of the BEST memories of high school. It was soooo much fun!
It's ironic that the song contained a reference to the Challenger shuttle explosion, as 5 months after the song debuted, while it was still charting at #1... the Space Shuttle Columbia burned up on re-entry. Several radio stations pulled the song from the air because of it.
Oh I loved Mark Wills. Please react to Don't Laugh at Me and Wish You Were Here. He was so popular when I was in high school. I'm 41 now. I just looked it up. He's 51. Wow! Time flies. 😮
I met Mr. Wills at one of his concert. He was such a sweetheart. If you like Country music storytelling, he's your man. Wish you were here, don't laugh at me, just to name a few of his best songs
I'm actually helping my mom sort all of our childhood pictures right now because she wants to finally make us photo albums from our childhood and she can't tell us apart in a bunch of the pictures but I can. It is great having the chance to relive all the memories from my childhood that I had forgotten about.
Theme song for the older GenX'ers. I'm at the younger end (1979). The first major news event I remember is, The Challenger Explosion. I saw Mark Wills in October 2004, at a rally in Orlando, Fl, for President George W. Bush. Another song he sang, a you should check out is, "Jacob's Ladder".
Not sure if you've already reacted to it, but Hardy 'Wait in the Truck' is a fantastic song. His voice is amazing and Laney Wilson is fantastic on the track.
Not quite at the point of my life where i can look back and reminisce about good times (or the 1900s in general) but still love this song and your interpretation of reminiscing. For country songs i really recommend SHeDAISY Come Home Soon.
You want more country recommendations? The River, or To Make You Feel My Love, or The Dance, or Friends in Low Places all by Garth Brooks. Alcohol or Ticks by Brad Paisely. Blue by Leann Rimes

I've known this song for a while now, but I haven't seen the video. Lol, these could be my family's home movies. 😂

I remember when this song was being filmed. My hometown is about 40 minutes frome Nashville and they shut down our drive-in to film there.

Oh that sounds amazing! ❤
I love this style, another playlist to follow. Listening to these songs in the car while traveling has a great vibe.
Someone on TikTok made a version of this 1990 something and 2000 and something.
Oh really? That must be a fun watch!
Love this song, it's been on my country playlist on Spotify for years 🕺I also recommend Just another day in paradise by Phil Vassar

Please react to Home Free featuring Mark Wills: Don't Laugh at Me. It has a message just right for October
It’s really too bad no one can react to Garth Brooks. He’s so stingy with his music. He has some great songs though
