I'm one of the ones that strongly dislike Ani and it's not purely because it's spicy. It's because the spice doesn't seem to work in this composition and I definitely don't smell this as a vanilla fragrance so I suppose I also felt betrayed. But I LOVE Lune Feline and it's fairly spicy too but it's perfection to me. Ani X was a bit more tolerable for me but still not a like.

I haven’t smelled Unknown Pleasures, Venom Incarnate, and Rouge Smoking as yet, but the others I’ve owned or have had a decant of, and they’re all great. I’m hoping to try the house of Stephane Humbert Lucas. I had a tiny sample of God of Fire and loved it, but I really want to sample Sand Dance. My top purchase this year is Ani, Ambrosia Imperial, Xerjoff’s La Capital, Oud Bouquet, Tresor La Nuit, Delina Exclusif, Kayali’s Silk Santal, Yum Pistachio, YSL Le Parfum, and Rosendo #5.
I had a sample of Rouge smoking and I liked it so much that I bought a full bottle. I had to sell the bottle because I just couldn’t deal with the fact that it never lasted on me. It seems like the sample lasted longer so maybe you’re right that I needed so let it sit for a while, but I sold it. I don’t think manufacturers get it that people would buy more of their fragrance if it lasted longer. I think they aim for people buying more of it because they have to spray more and maybe that’s what works for them. It kind of stinks for the consumer( lol no pun intended.)😊
I do have a lot of perfumes that had poor performance at first then got stronger over time. Some notes age well and naturally get darker/stronger. I try to wait before decluttering now. They need to come out with a Rouge Smoking Extrait!!
Rouge Smoking gets much better over time. I’m now getting a full work day out of it but I do spray my clothes. Layered with Velvet Tonka, it lasts a pretty long time.
Hi Jackie, I have six of your top 10. One of my latest purchases was Triumph. I have to say while I think it is very good, I feel it is a bit overhyped. But I am glad to have it in my collection. My top 10 for 2023 in no particular order: Guerlain - Gourmand Coquin, Guerlain - Angélique Noire, Penhaligon's Eau de Audacity, Jovoy - Remember Me, Penhaligon’s - The World According to Arthur, Stephane Humbert Lucas - Venom Incarnat, Thameen - Peregrina, Soma - Halcyon, Pantheon Roma - Dolce Passione, Narcotica - Dulce Diablo. Bonus: Guerlain - Néroli Outrenoir. I have to mention the biggest let-down for me personally, which I sold not long after purchase: Chocolate Queen. All I got was amber(wood), the gourmand notes were in the opening for a few minutes. I can't do amber, so out it went.
I blind bought bianco latte because I love sweet gourmet and was very disappointed. It is true that it has a strong silliage but I don't smell any cookies. Only synthetic vanilla that reminds me a lot of an ikea candle :/
Hi Jax! I am pretty new to your channel, so I'm not sure if you like powdery/Iris type perfumes? I just got my Dorina by Dorin in the mail yesterday and absolutely love it! I Amp it up with JHAG Not a perfume Superdose (controversial Superdose, but it just works for my skin ph) I want to smell clean and powdery and slightly sweet. I'd love to see a video of powdery, non- gourmand, not too sweet fragrences! I'm still new to your videos, but it seems you prefer food smelling gourmand Love your videos ❤ Cardamom can be vile if it's too strong, for sure!!
My three favorite perfumes that I bought this year are Bianco Latte, Ani and Flowerbomb Nectar. I love all three and they're all so different so I don't think I could pick a favorite but I probably wear the Flowerbomb the most. Maybe. I don't know, I love them all, lol

Love my gourmands! I layer Ruby Red with Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit.
Re: Starlight & Ginger Biscuit - my trick is not to overlap them but to spray them in different places. That way, the stronger one doesn't cancel our the weaker one. I spray Jazz Club on my wrists & behind my earlobes and Lovefest just above my wrists and on the inside of my elbows. As I move around the smells combine. I think it could work for your combo!
I am anxiously awaiting decants of Ambrosia Imperiale, Venom of Love, Baklava Royale, Mahni Cassonade and The Embrace from Navitus plus a bunch from other houses. Thank goodness for @GretaBeth, amiright?!?!

Ani is my biggest disappointment this year 😆 on me is just punch of bergamot in the opening that lasts for maybe an hour and half ( so so muscline to my nose) then the vanilla starts to show up yes it’s beautiful vanilla but it’s just vanilla so sample so easy to wear, not sophisticated no uniqueness hereee, I decided to sell it right away, I will save my favorite spot this year after my coming order 💃🏻

Great list - I have many of these. Try Rouge Saray - it’s a hidden gem and not sure why more people don’t talk about it. Just gourmand enough and warm and cozy - loving it in the cooler weather. ❤️
I adore Rouge Smoking too! Sometimes I wear it out, but like you said the performance isn't great so more often than that I wear it to bed. I find it to be really cozy and comforting.

I overlooked it for so long but it’s definitely my signature scent right now and I do adore Triumph of Bacchus! Still waiting on Ambrosia Imperial & Mahni Casonade! Great list Jackie! 🫶🏻

I’m pretty new to fragrance collecting, so I thought a ton of classic hyper perfumes this year. I think my absolute favorite is Wild Vanilla Orchid by Floral Street though. Every time I wear it I’m like - this smells so interesting and just freaking good.

I love powdery perfumes and I love Iris. I usually crave those in spring. Fall and winter I want all the gourmands 😆
