Absolutely right. I played this game before I played Brilliant Diamond, when I got to Eterna Forest in that game I felt nostalgia for Legends 😂 Btw I haven’t played the og D/P/PT
So the music and the Mossy Rock have me believing this is Eterna Forest, but the location on the map has me believing this is Route 221/Pal Park. And the giant tree has me believing this is Great Hyrule Forest.
@@electrocast Yeah I figured that sometime after, but then what is the Heartwood? I refuse to believe it's Eterna Forest; the geography is blatantly incorrect, and the giant tree doesn't match anything I know from modern Sinnoh.
@@mettatonex7221 I remember staring at the map for a while and realized that if you compare Cobalt Coastlands islands to modern day Sinnoh, not only is the Volcano Island a lot larger, but the offshore islands are now connected to the mainland. This implies a major amount of time passing between this game and D/P/Pt/BD/SP. So I’ve always though of it as a major example of continental drift as well as terrain just changing over time for the positions not being the same. It also makes sense that the tree wouldn’t be there seeing as a tree that old probably would have died by then. Sorry for the long post but this is the only way I can think to explain how the positions of areas are different than modern day Sinnoh.
@@deepfriedcats3041 It's an interesting thought, however I have to challenge it on a few fronts. If we relate this to real world continental drift, the tectonic plates move a LOT slower; the landmasses we know today are a result of millions upon millions of years of slow gradual movements, and in the grand scheme of things they didn't go very far in that time. But if we take into account that this is the factitious world of Pokemon that plays by it's own rules, we have a known cause for why the continents move: Regigigas. The various regions and islands are where they are because that's where Regigigas decided to put them, so unless the moldy action toy just woke up one day and decided to kick some islands around, I don't think that's a viable explanation unless there's a reason for it to do so. I also have to challenge the notion that Firespit Island is anything we're meant to recognize. The rest of the map has been largely upscaled from what we see in DPPt, so it doesn't make sense for the Fight Area to suddenly be a lot smaller or further south than it needs to be (plus I choose to believe they're saving that area for future DLC, since that area of the map is still clouded off), and while I might be able to buy that it's the Sinnoh League island (for lack of a proper denomer) based on the position even though it still needs some downscaling to work, the Sinnoh League island is not known to have any volcanic activity. So I think it's just a brand new construct for there to be a viable location for an Arcanine fight.
Not only was I like: "Wow, what an awesome soundtrack!" but when the Eterna Forest theme started playing, I was like: "This is the fucking most incredible thing."
my biggest problem with the music. its so absolutely phenomenal, but i cant adventure to it because every five steps i see that red eyeball over my screen and it plays the same song i have heard hundreds of times and i cant enjoy the music
I migrated my original pokemon from diamond and pearl all the way to this game. Having them all in my party when I first heard this song made me feel like I was a kid again. This is a really good game, especially if you're a sinnoh fan
When the Eterna Forest theme started playing I actually put down my switch, plugged in my DS and cracked open pokemon platinum for the first time in years because nostalgic music made me remember just how much I love the original gen 4 games. Hands down. One of the most beautiful Pokémon songs ever created. The first time I heard this I got chills. And just stood there in the forest, crazy. How this game just changed my whole outlook on pokemon
Imagine yourself, playing the DLC of SV and you are doing the mission to catch up the Bloodmoon Ursaluna. Have you thought that you are going to listen this ost while you're shooting pictures of random pokemons in the forest? I really love this detail in the DLC and much more when is related to a pokemon that is suposed to be extinct.
This song is timeless. It really reinforces that I've always loved Pokemon, and that I always will. I associate most songs with one period of my life, and the same used to be true for Eterna Forest, but I think this remix is what made me realize that Eterna Forest is different. This song takes me back to a different time in my life every time I listen to it, and I can't think of any other song that does the same thing. This time around, listening to the song places me in the present. It's raining outside, and it's peaceful. I'm grateful to the composers for crafting this masterpiece.
It's doing its job then, because Eterna Forest is "where time stands still" (that is literally its slogan) and I personally love that the music is timeless to reflect the location it plays in...Arceus I love Sinnoh and its music so much...my favorite region and soundtrack by far 🥺
The theme from Eterna Forest is not only used in Eterna Forest in Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl but its also used in Solaceon Ruins, Fullmoon Island & Snowpoint Temple
Such a beautiful and dreamy song, love it so much! It’s ethereal and brings off Eterna Forest vibes, and it kinda sounds like a lullaby. That flute part is so lovely, I have a flute, but I can’t seem to blow into the hole properly. I’m getting practice as well because my choir teacher’s husband is the band teacher, so maybe he can help.
This made me cry and feel like if time rewinded back to the DPPt days in a sec, I remember playing this in the backyard and talking bout my progress with my friends q_q
Gotta love how they put the Eterna Forest theme here... Despite the fact that geographically it's very much NOT where Eterna Forest is supposed to be located.
Seismic shifts/changes are still a thing. Considering that Hisui/Sinnoh is basically Pokémon world Hokkaidou it is just possible such shifts haven't occured yet on a grand enough scale to alter the region as it appears modern day.
I've never played Arceus, but as someone who grew up with the gen 3 and 4 games, this ost gives me such a weird feeling, nostalgia for music you've never heard before, almost a sort of deja vu thing... i don't quite know how to describe it
everytime i play this game and go to the heartwood i have to just. stop. and listen. i adore this theme so much, especially the eterna forest part (despite never playing dpp) damn does it hit
Bro i didn't even play diamond or pearl but when I heard the reprise into the melody for eternal forest, I stopped moving and breathing. A smile spread across my face and I literally almost started crying. Despite having never played the original games, that peice is so nostalgic for me. But especially the way they trick you into thinking the whole song is just looping and then just hit you with it. The music for legends arceus is just so beautiful.
What I love the most about this song is that it isnt JUST an enhanced version of Eterna Forest. Heartwood as a location is NOT Eterna Forest and therefore the song is distinctly different. Yes of course it has those leit motifs (is that how you spell it?) especially around the second part, but Go Ichinose and Hitomi Sato made sure the song sounded original and somehow sounds BETTER THAN the original. Absolutely legendary work
The first note of the original melody at 3:30 is... Incredible. I love how it almost sounds out of key. It's familiar but when it plays and then gives you that pause it's like, is this really happening? Is that really the same note from all those years ago? And then the rest of the song comes in and it sounds exactly as you remember it and yet somehow different. It's such an overwhelming emotion. This whole track is done flawlessly.
Playing the game for the first time today. The SECOND 3:30 hit I had to stop what I was doing and just... listen. It made me feel like I was a kid again, replaying Pearl for the first time. I love this game so, SO much.
Dear Arceus above, this gives me chills. It's the perfect song to play on a rainy day with a hot beverage. Maybe you're sitting on the patio, just out of the rain. This really just is why Legends Arceus is one of my favorite games. The little underappreciated nods that hit you right in the chest.
There's a curious fact Eterna Forest & Eterna City are named in Spain (I don't say Spanish because even though in Latin America we don't have yet the official version adapted in Spanish, we do have it for the anime and there we got "Bosque Eterna" and "Ciudad Eterna", literally taken from English) as "Bosque Vetusto" & "Ciudad Vetusta", basically "Ancient Forest" & "Ancient City", which isn't fully related with eternity, but it is related with time passing by, and so, for Sinnoh's past, Hisui
This is definitely the best song in the game. I stopped in my tracks when I first made it here, and said "Man this song... it's so beautiful." This one gives me even more nostalgia than night results theme. This song is probably now my new favorite song from any Pokemon game, it used to be N's bridge from Black and White.
this song is so beautiful. mysterious at the first part, but soothing at the last part. It also fits perfectly with the fact you are about to fight the first noble pokemon, Kleavor
When first playing, I didn’t notice the little opening bits sprinkled in near the start of the song, but right at 3:30 when it starts outright remixing the original theme, I stopped dead in my tracks and just had to listen to it
The theme of struggling for 6 hours while trying to get perfect on silkoon and cascoon, just because you know getting perfect on all pokémon, would be one hell of an acheivement, and because you suffer from extreme completionism. (Or is that just me?)
So much nostalgia, even when I never played gen 4 besides BDSP. Also helps that this is the home place of Yeehaw yeezies. Probably one of my favorite tracks in this entire game.
This theme makes me want to cry, it's amazing seeing what Eterna Forest once was, the music feels so magical and calming for a reprise of the original song... it's one of the most beautiful locations from DPT, and one I have very fond memories of from playing a lot of Pearl with, this song still means a big deal to me and I'm just as emotionally connected to it as I once was. Still has a special place in my heart.

This song just invokes that feeling of false nostalgia, where you never experienced the original source where most feel nostalgic about it, but it's just so beautiful that you can't help but feel nostalgic
at least for me anyways-
Absolutely right. I played this game before I played Brilliant Diamond, when I got to Eterna Forest in that game I felt nostalgia for Legends 😂
Btw I haven’t played the og D/P/PT
@@amiiboguy7288 You should, platinum and legends are imo the definitive sinnoh/hisui titles
anemoia
@@amiiboguy7288 absoutely give platinum a try, its among the peak games of pokemon, sits right up there with emerald, hg/ss, and gen 5
So the music and the Mossy Rock have me believing this is Eterna Forest, but the location on the map has me believing this is Route 221/Pal Park. And the giant tree has me believing this is Great Hyrule Forest.
A area where world's collide
pal park is ramanas island i think.
This game has such beautiful music and you never hear any of it cause every Bug type in the game tries to run your pockets
my biggest problem with the music. its so absolutely phenomenal, but i cant adventure to it because every five steps i see that red eyeball over my screen and it plays the same song i have heard hundreds of times and i cant enjoy the music
Its all about finding the right spot and then opening the map
Stopped me in my tracks and made me take my time with the camera mission with Perrin.
I migrated my original pokemon from diamond and pearl all the way to this game. Having them all in my party when I first heard this song made me feel like I was a kid again.
This is a really good game, especially if you're a sinnoh fan
fr
1:44 man. tears from this section, what a beautiful theme this is, I want to go visit this place more in game now. Goosebumps from this
Me too
I went crazy when I heard this on the teal mask DLC while taking pictures of Pokemon
When the Eterna Forest theme started playing I actually put down my switch, plugged in my DS and cracked open pokemon platinum for the first time in years because nostalgic music made me remember just how much I love the original gen 4 games. Legends arceus is beautiful in every sense of the concept and everything I could ever want in a new age pokemon game ♡
🥲
Once I got to this part and heard the music for the time and heard the beginning part of Eternal Forest melody I just stop in place bc I was not ready for this music to come out of nowhere and hit me like that. And in my mind I was like "there's no way they just did that to me" lol
This puts me in such a much more sadder state knowing what trauma this area has caused me. Losing a shiny is the worst of it
Oof my condolences. Which shiny? I lost a sudowoodo the other day f
It was a psyduck that made me faint and then I reset not knowing it would just disappear. I was still learning about shinies back then so if I did this now, I would have that shiny.
@@marxy6409 Thankfully in this game the shinies are pre loaded into the map when you start at a camp
So if you save there and then meet a shiny and accidentally let it escape or die
You can safely reset. I did that with a shiny Pichu in Obsidian Fieldlands
Got a Shiny Geodude in hg after trying to get Dunsparce in dark cave.

This track really is something special.
I like how over the span of a few months we got 4 new versions of this theme (BDSP Eterna Forest + Heartwood Part1 + Part 2 + Legends Snowpoint Temple Part 2)
It's so weird. I didn't grow up with Gen 4 - heck, I haven't even played the Gen 4 games - but this song still invokes a certain feeling in me and makes me cry so bad.
Yeah.
please get a gen 4 game you'll thank yourself later
oh, and i suggest platinum, but if you are forced to get D or P plz get P it has my favorite legend AKA Palkia
SAME I didn't start playing pokemon till I was almost done with high school when Alola came out but this song feels like home in a way I don't understand.
Gen 4 was a golden age of Pokemon for me. Legends: Arceus did it so much justice, and I couldn't be happier.
Hearing this in The Teal Mask gave me the biggest smile.
darn it, growing up really sucks, but the special memories will always stay in our heart...
I always feel very nostalgic when I listen to Pokémon themes of previous games. I can’t imagine how would I feel when I listen to this in 10 years. I’d probable cry 😭 Am I the only one ?
Nope
NOPE I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY I CRY LISTENING TO ALOLAN MUSIC NOW
I really love this detail in the DLC and much more when is related to a pokemon that is suposed to be extinct.
i never even played diamond and pearl as a kid and hearing this still made me super emotional. such an amazing track
The best part of failing to get a Cherubim/Cherrim is that you get to listen to this the whole time
I sat in this area for a while. So beautiful
Glad to see the recent comments about the DLC. Happy I wasn’t the only one to appreciate it. :3
one of the greatest video games of all time 💜 so beautiful
This song makes me feel like everything is ok, and I haven’t felt like that in a LONG time
im so glad pokemon diamond was my introduction to pokemon
So happy to hear this and the Alpha Pokemon music from this amazing game in the S/V DLC!
3:31-3:47 and especially at 3:39: F*cking shivers
Funnily enough it also plays in the Timeless Woods in the SV dlc
@@solosis340 my goodness you’re right, I don’t even know how that panned out that way
@@Pika999 Sinnoh just has such a unique feel to it. I’m nostalgic for Legends Arceus already :(
The theme from Eterna Forest is not only used in Eterna Forest in Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl but its also used in Solaceon Ruins, Fullmoon Island & Snowpoint Temple
It's mostly known as eterna forest theme and plays there first so this is eterna forest theme
Little fun fact: the Snowpoint temple theme in Legends has piano notes that sound like Eterna Forest as well
This game is such an amazing gift for Sinnoh and Pokemon Diamond fans, I actually can't-
praying us johto boys get the same treatment
The single greatest piece of music ever put into a Pokémon game.
When you realize what happened to the Crimson Mirelands
Im not even particularly nostalgic for gen 4 and this still has me almost in tears
*stops moving just to listen to this song*
Wild Beautifly: *attacking*
GODDAMNIT!
Best track not only of this game, but of the entire franchise.
Thanks for existing Pokemon Legends Arceus.
Playing the game for the first time today. The SECOND 3:30 hit I had to stop what I was doing and just... listen. It made me feel like I was a kid again, replaying Pearl for the first time. I love this game so, SO much.
I hope Nintendo doesn't take down this video too. They've already taken down quit a few. I love this theme so much! ;w; Thanks for uploading.
I got GOOSEBUMPS when I realized where I was. I never cry when I comes to video games, but GF got me with this one. Absolutely perfect 😢
1:45 makes me tear up
3:31 is where I cried
Two songs, with day and night variations
I love the reference to Eterna Forest. It's such a nostalgic track.
I don't even have nostalgia for Gen 4 and I still went "holy shit", stopped for a sec, and cranked the volume up when I realized it was Eternta Forest
There's a curious fact
Eterna Forest & Eterna City are named in Spain (I don't say Spanish because even though in Latin America we don't have yet the official version adapted in Spanish, we do have it for the anime and there we got "Bosque Eterna" and "Ciudad Eterna", literally taken from English) as "Bosque Vetusto" & "Ciudad Vetusta", basically "Ancient Forest" & "Ancient City", which isn't fully related with eternity, but it is related with time passing by, and so, for Sinnoh's past, Hisui
It also fits perfectly with the fact you are about to fight the first noble pokemon, Kleavor
hearing this again in Teal Mask, what a treat
When first playing, I didn’t notice the little opening bits sprinkled in near the start of the song, but right at 3:30 when it starts outright remixing the original theme, I stopped dead in my tracks and just had to listen to it
I just freaking realized that Lian is Clay's ancestor. That's pretty crazy
I mean Clay is based on a japanese businessman so it only makes sense that his ancestor is from a region based on a part of japan
There's ancesters all over the game
i think it’s incredibly funny that without the hat no one would know
WOW I wasn't expecting the whole song last 12 minutes, simply the best feels
The theme of struggling for 6 hours while trying to get perfect on silkoon and cascoon, just because you know getting perfect on all pokémon, would be one hell of an acheivement, and because you suffer from extreme completionism.
(Or is that just me?)
@@TheMellyBellies glad i'm not the only one
Me with Cherubi 😂
I remember stopping in my tracks when the Eterna Forest part came in, that shit was magical man I love this game.
I’d love to have been able to hear this music in game without it being constantly interrupted by the Pokémon alert music.
I know!
I had to stop playing and just listen to this. It's sooo beautiful! I always loved the original but this! This is Art!
4:25 Feel it.
I may have started in Alola but Pokémon music transcends through time and this made me cry
The music makes me happy because I finally found a shiny Buneary a few days ago!
The way as soon as 0:44 hits you just know it’s eterna 🤩
So much nostalgia, even when I never played gen 4 besides BDSP. Also helps that this is the home place of Yeehaw yeezies. Probably one of my favorite tracks in this entire game.
Here after the SV DLC
i cant even lie to you i think i teared up when i realized it was eterna forest in game
I shit you not. When I found out Heartwood was the ancient Eterna Forest, I actually cried.
I almost started crying when I heard Eterna Forest.
Best Pokemon game so far.
Perfection. Pokémon music never misses. Never.
