Before getting my tattoo I ordered a draft version of it as custom temporary tattoos and wore those for a year. It let me play around with exact placement, colors, size, and then confirmed that I still wanted it even after a full year.
I highly recommend doing this. Enough tattoos to replace it every week or two for a year will be like $50-$100 depending on size. But the insurance and all that testing is 100% worth.
Im 6 months into having the real tattoo and I'm only loving it more as time passes.

@@sonofapan0738 it could be less likely to get kidnapped because if someone kidnaps you, its WAY easier for people to identify you because of a tattoo you have, and kidnappers probably dont wanna go through the trouble of being caught that easily (unless they specifically wanted to kidnap YOU for whatever grudge they have or whatever). people also sometimes dye their dogs fur with pet safe dye so that its easier to identify them if they get lost, and so that its less likely if they get stolen because the thief will be caught very soon.

No this is not bad advice! I have a couple tattoos I don’t love, don’t look fantastic, but I still feel really connected to them. I’m not embarrassed or ashamed, I’m just like ‘18 y.o. me was a silly goose and I think it’s funny.’ Recently I got a stupid tattoo not because current me wanted it, but because middle school me dreamed of getting it and I wanted to give it to her.
There are some tattoos I want, but I have given myself the task of making sure my first tattoo is something I have a reason for getting, I have been considering getting an X on my forearm to reference Vivi's goodbye in One Piece, but not absolutely sure yet

I have a total of 6 tattoos, all smaller ones that reference something that at one point I LOVED. My very first one was the logo that VIXX used during their 'chained up' promotions, because that album meant a lot to me during my shift between high schools at 16 (I got it when I was 19, I am 25 now and though I don't listen to VIXX all that much anymore because of the amount of bad memories that are connected to that time, I still don't regret getting that tattoo, hell I still love it). In the last 6 years, I got 5 more tattoos. 2 that connect back to ATEEZ, a Rune from the Shadowhunters Chronicles and two titles from my favorite 5SOS songs in my parents their handwriting. I still haven't regretted any of them, still love them as much as I did on the day that I got them or even more.
So basically, if something means a lot to you (even if it's something from pop-culture) get the tattoo if you really want to have it, especially if you have wanted it for years.
I totally need to get an ateez tattoo!

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, the Church James used to be an active part of when he was young. So I can see exactly why his parents had reservations on tattoos and wanted to raise him that way (teaching him our bodies are temples that God gave us and whatnot)
That being said *Everyone at some point in their lives needs to choose what they believe in.* James chose to believe he was not getting his happiness from the Church, and respectfully decided to leave. Some choose to believe happiness does come from working on one's spiritual connection with God through a formal religion.
And to set the record straight, members and leaders of the Church discourage tattoos, only because of their belief that not having them is a way of honoring God more. And those who still want to get tattoos should still know they are loved by others, they are loved by God, and are still amazing people. They SHOULD NOT BE TOLD they are bad people and are going to hell (too many extreme believers say this, and too many non-believers assume that ALL believers think this).
We all choose what to believe in, and the world is a better place when we accept that others may believe in different things than we do

Luckily I've made friends of all sorts of different religions, and can understand that the bad people are a minorty, and don't represent the community.

I got my first tattoo in memory of my Dad. It's "There are no goodbyes, only see you laters" on my forearm.
Little nervous going in to get it. But it's been a month so far and is the best thing I have gotten.

A new odd ones out video is so refreshing especially when it feels like it’s been 50 years when it’s only been a couple of months.
One time my friend and I went to talk to the scariest teacher at my school. Everybody thought she was so mean and had no personality. But that one time, my friend asked her if she likes Harry Potter (my friend loves Harry Potter so much) and the teacher got a burst of energy and showed us a tattoo on her ankle of Harry’s wand. It was the most wholesome thing I’ve experienced and ever since, she has been nice to everybody ❤😊

#2 will be bigger and has a LOT more meaning. So, I have a ball python. He's the only pet I have. I've had him for over 10 years now, and I have him registered as an emotional support pet. He's helped me through some dark times.. So when he inevitably passes, I want a tattoo of him wrapped around my lower right arm with his head on the back of my hand. He'll always be watching what I'm doing while giving me a hug, and I'll never be without him.

In my family we had a rule that you could get a tattoo, but you had to like the same design for at least a year. To me this, this is a great way to feel out if you would like the same tattoo years later.
I remember when law enforcement and the military started being more lenient with individuals who had tattoos because they were having a hard time finding people without them to recruit. Side note. I have a few tattoos myself, each with significant meaning, and I bloody love to talk about them. The most obvious one is of the words “Solve” and “Coagula” on the underside of my forearms in an old style of font, in the manner of Baphomét.
The meaning is a philosophy based in sciences that states “In order to create, one must first destroy,” and the literal translation of the Latin text tattoo is “Dissolve - Coagulate”, and on the back of each respective forearm is “Ut Supra” “Ut Infra” meaning “As above, so below.”
Wrapping this up, I also have a few sigils and cartoonish depictions of Baphomét, Akephalos, and some other occult deity friends, each with a banner ‘neath the image with a corresponding phrase, some of which are metal song lyrics. I love discussing tattoos and their meaning, and yes, I thought about this for a couple years prior to be certain.
The fact that my tattoos happen to be “badass” as is said in English was not my prime motive, but a pleasant bonus all the same. I suppose it tells of my neurodivergence that my first thought was “I like what this means” instead of how it came off as. I suppose in hindsight having tattoos of beings with titles like “the Headless One” and Latin does lend itself to a certain energy.
