.000153 percent mortality for the population.. That's less than the number of Vietnamese citizens that died laughing over the same period. Taking into account that about 99.9 percent of all deaths attributed to covid are purposefully , fraudulently misdiagnosed, I thank you for this pointless and likely false information. Keep up the good work, "journalists". Wink wink nudge nudge.

I lived in Vietnam during the time of the outbreak. They closed schools at the start of February when students were set to return from their 2 week lunar New year holiday. Many Western countries didn't close schools for nearly another 2 months. Vietnam was more proactive and responded quicker to minimize spread. Government and citizens took it seriously. Before the mandatory lockdown and isolation took place, I had Vietnamese friends say things like, "I'm going to stay home to help protect my country." Different mentalities compared to certain other people in the world.

what is seriously baffling is how so many other countries who got a handle on this virus actually used the United state's pandemic playbook and it worked. The US has spent decades traveling the world and teaching and working with other countries and giving them the resources to fight diseases and viruses. They all did what was right because they took it seriously. The US has done horrible because our leadership under trump was awful! Some of the first things trump defunded when he became president was almost all of our scientific research and climate change as well. He wanted to stop funding them because he said it was pointless qnd stupid. And instead he used tnat funding for other shit thats not that important! I blame trump 100% for the 500k+ lost lives due to covid! Hes an idiot!

@Vladimir Lenin The Vietnam was was not the U.S. against Vietnam. The South Vietnamese government requested U.N. assistance to resist North Vietnam. The only way that the north would have been defeated would have been total war and occupation of the north, destruction of all cities and military assets. Destroying a people to save them was not in the U.N. charter. It was feared that Chinese troops would become involved if the north was occupied by ground troops. Now, China has disputes against Vietnam, especially regarding the Mekong river - which the CCP has dammed. The U.S. never had interests in southeast Asia other than to control the expansion of communism - many U.S. universities now teach Marxism.

To people who is questioning the credibility of data in Vietnam, read the investigation from Reuters. Here is some quotes from their report.
”Managers of 13 funeral homes in Hanoi contacted by Reuters said they had seen no uptick in deaths. One said requests for funerals had gone down during the country’s lockdown, now lifted, because of the reduction in traffic accidents, one of the biggest killers in Vietnam.”
”Kidong Park, the World Health Organization’s representative in Vietnam, said there was no indication of any outbreaks beyond what had been reported by the government.”
If our government was hiding something, the world would definitely know. Unlike China, ex-pats and citizens living in Vietnam can access all social media, Facebook, Twitter, UA-cam, Instagram, etc. and they have a lot of blogs and videos about what is happening in this country. Journalist are welcome to investigate as well (though they can't find anything ^^)

We have learned that there are people who were tested negative at first but turned to be positive later (even in strict isolation, eliminating the possibility of exposure after the first test). This was explained that even with the best test kit available, for the first 5 days after exposure, there are rarely enough virions in the nose and throat for a reliable result.

Next portion are from the hospital when virus accidentaly transmits from patients to staffs. Then it transmits back to old patients. Most death are from here.
Our current problem is some people smuggling others to our country with high price to avoid isolation period which causes small community out-break from time to time. We have to mobilize military to lock down entire district or town, contact tracing, daily deep clean, and daily covid test for around 1 or 2 months. Many deaths due to these people afraid others found out and try to treat it as a cold at home, only go to hospital until it is too late.

@@Kylelongwest The Cambodian government imposed the least strict lockdown in developing Asia. I'm surprised actually, given that Hun Sen is widely considered a freedom hating dictator. Yet his lockdown was much less severe than Thailand's, Myanmar or Vietnam.
My guess is because of how poor Cambodia is. They don't have the resources to enforce mask wearing in all public places or quarantine countless numbers of people. Vietnam does, to a much greater extent than Cambodia anyway.
