I went to the Porsche dealer to buy new headlights for my 911 and they gave me this video. Probably the finest commercial spot for any product, at any time, in any place. Perfect narrator, perfect music and perfect product. I never did "upgrade" to a 993 (or even a C-4) however, I test drove two of them up in Alaska. The ride, power curve and approximate non-pushed handling was carbon copy of my "S" model. Back then I had blonde surfer-dude look. Now, just like the bloke in this video, sans car!
It's one of the best videos ever made about a sports car, let alone a Porsche 911. That said, there are all kinds of Porsche sports cars - ALL kinds. They all have different characteristics. Over the years the Germans have produced collectively the finest engineered race cars in history. Thier legacy is unrivaled in endurance racing. This is one of the wonderful aspects of owning a Porsche. Driving a legitimate legendary marque. I prefer the older cars for every day driving, such as the 356C :)
This is just an extraordinary video. Whoever made it ,can work in hollywood. But as good as the Add is the car. The last of the air cooled porsches. I can tell you that. I have a 993 C2S in my garage.
A great piece of marketing. And much of what is said about passion and voice rings true with me. But the fulfillment of such promise is not satisfied by any physical thing. In a sense...this ad is insidious.
One of the best Corporate Image films ever made. Well done. An inspiration.
I've been looking for this forever! I had the VHS tape as well! So great that you posted it!
i have been searching for this video for years. i used to have it on VHS. thanks so much for posting it.
I LOVE THE SOUND OF VARIORAM IN THE MORNING!!!!
Just went out to the garage and hugged my 993 C4

Porsche does make some nice little films, don't they?
Great fun! Thanks for posting.
993 is an extraordinary piece of work. i am a lucky dog as i have a 993 S edition.. Only little more than 1000 were made.
Same here.. I actually bought Deep Forest CD after seeing the VHS back in 1995 or so.
I just looked at my CD.. You are right!
Deep Forest
made in 1992.

993 is one of the sexiest cars of all time.
Oh man... that video is soooooo good. 0_0 I didn't Patrick Stewart had done any other Porsche promos...
I agree. The 993 is their very best yet.
The music is made by "Deep Forest" The album is titled Boheme.
993 - Possibly the most puristic car ever made!
I listened, and it wasn't loud enough, so I made mine LOUDER :)
Thank You!
Used to have this VHS tape.
This is back when Porsche was making quality cars. 993 is the last of the "good" cars.
What model do you have exactly, and from what year is it?
yes - this video brought them International Acclaim. Good ear!
Porsche, there is no subistitute!
Actually isn't the music in this from Deep Forest's self titled Album just called Deep Forest?
anyone know when this adv made? 1994? This is good.

Great car.. but Porsche will go to any lengths to sell their products :S
music by Deep Forest helped too
It's Deep Forest, not Enigma.
Sorry, I missed the point.
Fantastic car (i have a 993 Targa) but the vid is a load of sentimental bollocks.
Well done for posting though...
@zzzone123 i would hug it too if i had one lol.
So boring. I think Porsche wasted a lot of money on that ad. Couldn't we have just seen and heard the freakin' car?
