Hey Benjamin, thanks for sharing these vids! I've seen you install the downpipe in one of your previous videos. I'm just curious (thinking about some future upgrades for my 2019 Giulia this upcoming summer). Are you replacing turbo with a new OEM part, or are you upgrading with an aftermarket part? If you're upgrading - can you share what turbo are you planning on installing? Cheers o/
Hi, I have a Stelvio, 280 hp I am interested in the spring on the wastegate turbine, whether it tightens or opens the valve, because it is loose due to temperature. thank you
I just did mine. It took just about 8 hours for the uninstall alone. That's because I'm, inexperienced though. With the expereince - probably 4 ish. I took practically the same steps. The main reason in dragged out are a few bolts. The oil drain line bolt that's mounted to the bottom of the turbo was tough to reach. I needed an extension, a magnetic head, and a swivel socket. You then have to position the extension under the turbo and guide the bit to the bolt. The bolts that mount the downpipe bracket was also a hassle. There's about 5 degrees of room under there and it took all my shoulder muscle to get that bolt off. Other than that all you really need to reach any other bolt is an extionsion, and the right sockets. Don't try to remove the ac line from the firewall lol. The downpipe wasn't coming out for me and instead of rewatching the video I tried that and the bolt for the ac line broke. So I need to find a repolacement mount or get one machined and I have no clue where to start. I'm out here watching youtube for a turbo replacement for gods sake lol.
I'm in similar place trying to remove the lower drain line to replace leaky O ring without full disassemble like this. I managed to get the bolt out by going from front of car have to be careful not to rest your elbow on the coolant reservoir line. Using T30 3/8" with swivel to loosen it but not quite enough room to actually turn the ratchet then dropped down to 1/4" T27 to remove it praying it doesn't fall lol. Getting the actual line off is my issue seems the leak has glued them together but no room to maneuver it loose.
@@johndoe-mm6xudid you ever get it off? I'm installing a hybrid turbo and I'm stuck on the inverted oil return line bolt. Can you share a quick video of the type of extension or the direction you came from? I'm so close 😢😢😢😢
Thanks a lot, although I can't understand what you're saying this video has helped me so much... cheers

You wouldn't happen to know the width of the turbo inlet side, would you? Im looking at the t51r mod, and im hoping it is 4 inches or wider.

I used a t30 and a shit ton of extenders and swivel joints 😅
