One day I saw Tom Merrick video on compression exercise and did it a few times and instantly got straight arm press and straddle press 👍🏻 and I always use to do tuckpress to the handstand as a beginner and realising that movement is so natural ❤️.
wtf i can just do it now like the day right after i watched this video i did it and it didn't even feel that.. that hard okay it's hard but when i have enough energy it feels totally possible i mean i do like do handstand push ups without the wall but still i never really practiced the straight arm handstand press only like the bent handpress were the one's that i could do idk man i gotta be careful here my ego may lead me to injury fast edit: and yes it is the straight arm handstand press with the legs together no straddle ... i can't do it perfectly but ill say i,m pretty good

Followed Gabos 3 exercises to learn handstand...and well after 12 months I can finally clock 45s on a good day coming from 0s with absolutely no experience. I trust these exercises will work too! 💫🙏 Thanks for the tips!
This vid is coming at the perfect time, was in the process of programmig a new workout regiment for the next 6 weeks to work on the press to handstand😁❤
@@SaturnoMovement Thank you brother, I shall! I'm thinking I'll combine the routine with some tuck and/or 7 handstands and weighted shoulder dislocations for some additional conditioning of the shoulders & trapezius muscles
Really man I was just wondering that I would never be able to press handstand as I am about to get my handstand.. But after watching this video I started practicing again and I feel I could do it. Thanks a lot BC. PS: BC is typical indian emotion.
Actually just did the routine 2 times and I think this developed my Bodyattention or something, maybe the thing that Im already kind of able to do it, I just did my first freestanding presstohandstand (straddle) !! Thanks alot Gabo for giving the confidence ((:
25:16 , LEVEL 9999 😳😳😳 . Hehe great job to Fabian for this 😄 and thank you for the long 26 minute explanation Gabo 🙏🏻 P.S When is HSPU video coming up ?
This made my day 😂😂😂 Fabian says: at least my burned neurons are being appreciated 😂😂😂 thanks brother!! Still working on IT! So many details hehe 😅 a few weeks 🙏🏽
@@SaturnoMovement 25:16 is one of the most awesome things i have seen on yootoube ! I can't stop clicking 25:16 to watch this part again and again , its sound is also so attractive ! 👏🏻
I think I need more shoulder and arm strength to pull this off . I feel like my arms are going to buckle. Excellent cues ....I will keep practicing . Namaste
Thx Gabo for the routine. Will start training for this again since I have been doing Vsit routine. Kinda help of my hamstring and compression strength and flexibility 😁👍
I think this move works your back, especially the lower back...am i right? Cause if so then i can strengthen my lower back in the gym as well and it will help me with the move.
Actually, not really! It seems like it would, but it’s all about the front body... core, hip flexors, shoulders. I don’t know your fitness level, but the thing that is helping me with presses the most is core strengthening. Hamstring flexibility is also super important. You need solid back strength for stability (it’s part of the core), the press movement begins and ends with the strength of your abdominals. Try to focus on your front body when practicing the press and see where you get. Good luck!
The answer above is very accurate! You do use your back muscles (erector spinae mostly) in order to create stability and some extension as you go up, but your front core is far more important here than your low back. In terms of posterior chain, lower traps and upper traps are more important than low back as well. It’s a full body movement anyways 😅 focus on the movements from the video and you’ll get the press!
Hi Gabo and SM team, just wanna say thanks for the videos , I'm a student in Greece and currently locked down ,in my hometown without my friends and gf but during all this time your IG posts ,for example a post you made about men crying ,have helped me with my anxiety problems and growth as a really young person .I train high reps calisthenics but actually like the videos and your yoga sessions help me recover and relax .Can you make a video for legs without using much weight?I recently started focusing on my legs a lot more(as most calisthenics athletes I have neglected them),doing high reps , holds, sprints and runs in nature.Keep up the good content and wish the best irl 🙏💪 ,
Thanks for this video, it's very helpful and the workout even with the minimum numbers of reps is very hard, even for me that I've been training HS for 2 years. Keep it up !!!!!! 💪🏿💪🏿
Hi Gabo thanks for this routine i really needed it! What I get in handstand press is the difficulty taking my feet off the ground and in the second phase to come back down slowly. Exercise1 will be top for me :D
love your content man, i always have fun and enjoy the process. Thx for your wise knowledge. Im from Brazil but it feels like we have a close connection hahaha, i feel in love with handstanding i managed to hold per 30 seconds yesterday with one week of practice, i am addicted to calisthenics and now because of you i can see the beauty side of Yoga and is pretty necessary too, lucky that as a martial artist gave me a good flexibility but still i have so much to improve, and people like you give me inspiration to always bee thirsty for information, literally EATING content on YT and your collab with FitnessFAQ's was just pure humility, two people that have experience and open minded to pass that knowlodge that you learned with your fails in a free streaming plataform, ok my english is bad i will stop typing but ill keep grinding hahahah thx man, huge hug. I wish you success.
Thank you for the video, the first routine video you did a couple years ago was already amazing. I just have a question : is it useful to work everyday one a given muscle if you want to gain mobility on this muscle ? Like if I want to be more flexible on my shoulders, should I exercise the more possible ?
This is an extense topic brother! But in short, it depends on the intensity. My take here is daily light work, paired with heavy work 2-3x per week. By heavy work I mean loaded stuff, PNF, and other advanced techniques. Light stuff I mean passive stretching, dynamic movements, yoga, ect. Hope this helps 🙏🏽
Whats up gabo, im trying to get planche and handstand skills, and i got a better position of protraction and arms stability, but i still got problems to get the protraction and throw the hip up, in the force and movement without losing the posture... can you help me a little please?... im struggle with it every week and i want to get a movement controled and stroger to get the transition from planche to handstand and backward, thank you very much for you content, Saludos hermano desde Chile
