The problem with this model is that you are 100% building yourself a job and not a business.
If you stop running on the hamster wheel and producing content the income also stops. Maybe not the very next day, but the revenue will stop when you do.
There was a lot of talk about freedom in this episode, but when you are the business the freedom is a false sense of security.
Self-employed people may not have a boss that they report to, but they just own the job that stops when they stop.
It’s no different than a real estate agent or solo attorney or gardener. If they don’t get up in the morning and go to work, the income stops.

He sells info products as his main source of income.
The content fuels the product sales, yes, but he isn't chained to consulting clients as you suggest.
Most people who own small businesses with employees are just as dependent on showing up as a solopreneur.
Such a small percentage of business owners ever make it to the "scalable business that runs itself."
