I was a boy scout and learned some knots (not as beautiful as this one). I met a pretty woman at party at a ski club, she was into boats, im a guitar builder. long story short, we went out for a ski a few days later and when we came back I tied the boat to the peer with a bowline...she was very impressed. Married 15 years now with 3 lovely kids. I swear it was the bowline that did the trick. Thanks Lord Baden Powell

Well done, I have spent half the morning on a competitors site and couldn't manage this simple knot. First time through with you and voila.

I grew up learning Ashley's book of knots, but always had trouble with the crown unless I tied it different than the illustration! Your video is awesome, so easy to follow!

My hat’s off to you-I’ve been struggling to get this right and everything looked like a dog’s breakfast until your very clear instructions.

Beautiful Knots. Incredible how smart and fun these things are. So many really smart intelligent people, and soooooooooo much suffering in the world. It doesn't fit together at all.

I guess you know by now everything is controlled by a small elite. Big Banks, Pharmaceutical Companies etc. It is all about money and control. Look at what's happening with Dakota Access Pipeline. People start to stand up for their rights, for protecting the earth etc. I can feel your pain.

Nice video! Never realized what an art exists for knot tying. And I thought I was good at it in Boy Scouts when I learned the 'Sheep Shank'...though I would never trust it for climbing.

If you pull on the two diagonals before you set the knot it makes the shape of a propeller.

    Knots exist for a reason.
You showed how to tie a knot in two free pieces of string, which is fine if you want to teach someone how to teach someone else how to tie a knot but it is not a practical method for a knot that is in use.
What would be useful is to show how to tie the not with a loop and only two free ends, and then to do again choosing an alternative pair of ends, that is having the free ends emerge in different positions in the knot.
