    Briiliant Alex, thanks for sharing.
    I like the details you've included. The headcam is great IMHO, the audio is spot-on. Your apprentice is switched-on too.
    That perforator tool is something I reckon I'll use. I'm building a 6M ASH 31.

    Great work! Any tips on ensuring your wing is strong enough (weave and unidirectional) without resorting to trial and crash?

    • @AJHewson1
      @AJHewson1  3 місяці тому

      @@coreybennett564 good question. That’s a very hard one to answer without trial and error. I’ve got the luxury of many wings made to gather data from. My recommendation would be to find someone who has made similar wing to what you plan and ask their layup

    Hi Alex. I am making a wing in two halves like this with a shear web spar caps. How should I join the wings? Is it worth the trouble of finding a way to make the spar go across both?

    Awesome how-to video 👍
    As a fellow kiwi I'm wondering where you buy the high density foam from for the cores?
    I can only find beaded polystyrene in the hardware/building stores.
    Cheers

    Alex you gotta switch to a 50hz based frame rate to prevent flicker on your headcam.

    • @AJHewson1
      @AJHewson1  2 роки тому

      Did that, changed the frame rate settings, tried an ND filter and some other setting recommended on the net. No change unfortunately

    Which resin did you use, and were the cores cut using a cnc hot wire cutter?

    • @AJHewson1

      I used ADR 246TG resin and ADH28 hardener. Yep, cores were cut on a CNC hotwire.

    Doesn’t the Resin cause the foam ?

      @@AJHewson1 Doesn’t the Resin cause the foam to melt due to the over heating during cure time ? ✌️
      Sorry about that, must have said it in my head without typing it.

    • @AJHewson1
      @AJHewson1  3 роки тому +1

      @@MohamedHetta nope, it doesn’t exotherm with a slow hardener. Also as soon as you use it over a large area, it reduces the chance of exotherm. If you leave a cup of resin, because it has a large volume in one spot, it will exotherm
