    Meanwhile, everyone in the modern world would get shocked as an entire country just vanished overnight, and what's even weirder is that, in it place, there is a piece of the Roman Empire, and naturally, the Romans would try to attack and conquer the neighboring modern nations, only for them to learn the hard way that it's impossible to do so, leading to the neighboring modern nations partitioning the now Roman Belgium and establishing a national park in the partitioned territories.

      It would also have great implications transportwise, Belgium is a key interchange of both the European high speed rail network, and the centerpoint of the trans-European motorways. Add to that the port of Antwerp, with it being the second largest in Europe, its vanishing would need to be compensated by the other European ports, scattered across the continent. Lastly, Brussels as a political powerhouses with the government institutions of the EU and NATO, and the highest amount of diplomatic representation in the world. Without it, there's no saying what the remaining EU nations would do. There would be a deafening silence, that's for sure.
      So all in all, for being such a small nation, Belgium sure has made itself quite essential.

      i am sure the romans and Celts living there could take over the Netherlands and Germany and Scandinavia without trouble since they wont fight back maybe France and the uk and Ireland too. but then they try to invade the Czech republic or Finland and get obliterated or nato comes in after they take the Netherlands

    Eh. Idk if Belgium would split in a difficult Time... And man... Stop Belgium slander. It's been 200 years of people telling "iT WiLl SPliT uP" and yet... It's still there because people there Can live together. Thé people who are voting for the separatist far right are (for the most of them) not wanting to Split UP. They just want less immigration (something that the same party advocates for)
    I know It's a fun video and all ! Honestly I had fun UP to the point where Belgium Split up where I was like "here we go again...". Welp. No sane Belgian actually wants to split. The N-VA is a less radical choice than Vlaams Belang, and it wants to fix the political system that makes Belgium go months without a government (Because there are too many parties). N-VA will have to give up on its wet dreams of splitting Belgium in 2 eventually, since their voters and other parties don't want that.

    What if modern Germany was sent back to 1945??

    • @candyneige6609
      @candyneige6609 5 місяців тому +5

      I can see two scenarioes happening, one on each side of the concerned time displacement :
      *1945*
      The allies, after just having conquered Germany, would be shocked to see Germany seemingly being able to somehow quickly rebuild itself and even reform itself as a nation, and the Germans themselves would be even more shocked, seen as their country somehow got transported to just after World War 2, and after some negotiations, the temporally-displaced Germany would agree to not join either NATO or the Warsaw Pact, and after the success that was Germany, the allies agree to do the same with Austria, leading to Austria being created a decade early, meaning that instead of an Iron Curtain, there would be an Iron Bloc of neutral nations, and the Cold War would be even colder, less deadly and more peaceful, the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc may or may not still collapse, but either way, the world would be a far more peaceful place.
      *Modern day*
      The entire world would get shocked to see Germany seemingly getting destroyed overnight, and even more shockingly, some foreign powers just somehow gained military occupation of parts of Germany, and the Germans themselves would be even more shocked, as after just having their country lose World War 2, they see their country and themselves with it somehow transported to the modern day, and unless history repeats itself and each of the occupation zones coalesces into either one or two Germany(ies), each of the occupation zones would be administered and integrated into their respective countries, with the American occupation zone getting admitted as the 51st state, the British occupation zone getting admitted as the 5th constituent country, and the French occupation zone getting admitted as the 14th metropolitan region, but most shockingly of all, the Soviet Union would return as the Soviet occupation zone, and unless it is given to any of the post-Soviet states like Russia or Ukraine, or even to its neighbor, Poland, the Soviet occupation zone would form its own country, either as the new German Democratic Republic or as the entire Soviet Union like how Kazakhstan was for a few short days, but either way, this new country would naturally be aligned itself with Russia and China, meaning that both countries would have a new European ally akin to Serbia, and as for Berlin, it would be divided into, not just two, but four different parts, meaning that, along with a West Berlin and an East Berlin, we would see a North Berlin and a South Berlin appearing on maps, meaning that Berlin would essentially become the new capital of Europe and by extension the whole world.

Belgium is a model democracy for 200 years without interruption and it's cultural and territorial unity exist for at least 1000 years (it wasn't always independant, but at worse an autonomous region who rebelled systematically when autonomity was reduced). Even if poor, Belgium would still be way more stable than some other modern Western Countries...

      I am not even going to reply on your 'model' democracy statement. If you're a Belgian living in Belgium then you're going to get your chance to see for yourself in person whether your right or wrong. Also don't forget large swaths of the population were heavily marginalized for a long time in this 200 year 'model' democracy of ours by having limited or no voting rights.
      As for the territorial unity. I don't know where you got your 1000 years. Until 1795 it existed out of a variety of duchies, counties and the diocese of Liège. After that it took until 1830 for it to become a single independent territory instead of a part of a larger state.

    • @TheShadowOfZama
      @TheShadowOfZama 4 місяці тому

      @@funnySIMON99 You're taking quite a bit of liberty talking about "Belgian" history considering all of those named examples included people and territories no longer part of modern day Belgium and/or were minor and unimportant periods of history. The United Belgian States existed for less than a year. The Duchy of Lower Lotharingia was a mess, The Burgundian "state" can hardy be called a state considering how much everybody was doing their own thing most of the time and the Habsbourg Netherlands can equally be used as an example of how different the various people living in them were. Brabantians actively fought Flemish for example during the Flemish revolts. So yeah you're using history quite 'liberally' when tying to 'prove' some sort of 'Belgian' cultural and territorial unity has been existing for at least a 1000 years. In fact you could say that the longer it goes on the more people and territories are getting out of this supposed cultural and territorial "unity" of yours.

The most men Rome ever mobilized at once was 450,000 men a little less than 200 years after this, maybe they could come close to those numbers, but that's the uppermost peak of what their agricultural technology and society will allow, with the difference in firepower I doubt even this force could overpower the standing Belgian army, not accounting for the conscription which the Belgians would reintroduce if they saw themselves as seriously under threat. However, I don't think the idea of conquering Rome would be popular in the Hague, namely out of fear on how that would affect history and the creation of Belgium itself. As a result, I think Belgium will be content to hold its new borders after the conquest of the Netherlands and Western Germany. Rome for its part would realize, and likely pretty quickly, that it is incapable of conquering Belgium, and would seek to establish friendly relations. The Roman Empire or Republic would be happy to have a "civilized" Latin people holding down their western border.

    Your Channel has a COOL-ASS CONCEPT. It's Unusual for UA-cam, which tends to Embrace many variations of only a few basic formulas: 1). Instructional Channels (i.e. Teaching Algebra or Foreign Languages, sharing Helpful Financial or Personal Life-Improving Philosophies, or Showing Viewers how to Cook certain Recipes or Build "off-the-grid" Shelters & Tools for Survival in the Wild):| - 2). True-Life Experience Channels (i.e. First Person FOCUSED Travel Reviews, focusing on either the travel's Luxury, the travel's Food, the travel's Adventure element, or the travel's Bargain-Strategies):| - 3). Reactions to Something uncommon to the Host, but well-known to the Viewer Channels (i.e. Culture Shock reactions to how people live in other Countries, or reactions to Music or Movies, or Fish-Out-of-Water Reactions from say TRABAL PEOPLE trying McDonalds for the First Time, of Villagers reacting to a 3D Video of Midtown Manhattan):| - 4): News & Essay Channels (i.e. a trusted commentator offering daily reports on the War in Ukraine, or offering Presidential Campaign updates , or offering an intelligent perspective on breakthroughs in Technology &Space Exploration):| - 5): Shock & Awe Channels (i.e. showing the latest videos of UFOs or Ghosts, or offering up controversial videos proving that Human Civilization is 180,000 years old or videos of a living 3-headed cow, or even just videos focusing on some mind-blowing Mega-Project like building an Airport in China that's so Big you cold put 50 football stadiums & 16 skyscrapers inside of it):| - and finally 6): Feel Good Channels (i.e. videos of a mother House Cat raising 2 Orphaned Tiger Cubs who later save her from a Bear attack, or three Pet Otters who live in the bathtub getting a live Salmon to feast on for the first time, or even just 3 hours of beautiful Enya Music with peaceful images floating across the screen. - - - But Your Channel Sir, DOESN'T FIT INTO ANY OF THESE CATAGORIES: and I Like That.
