  • this video is a demonstration of my own creation. I was inspired by the work of Dorothy Feibleman. She is a great Nerikomi artist and you can also find her video on youtube.

Thank you for another inspiring video. I would really like to see the steps between the sandwiched block at 1:32 and the slicing at 1:39. The reason I would like to see these steps is because this is where you cut the sandwiched block into the long bars that enable you to get the repeated pattern in each small square that you slice. You then get each slice with a consistent pattern and you are able to build a large sheet with a repeating pattern.

do you put the sandwiched block in an extruder to get the square tube you sliced?

Sameeeee I need to see that step because it's crucial to get the consistent pattern along the square tube.

What did you do with the sandwiched block to get the pattern in a square like that?
This is beautiful. I will try to make something similar

How do you go from the sandwiched block at about 1:25 to the perfectly flat and squared block shown just before slicing at 1:39? Simply elongating the sandwiched block and flattening the sides wouldn't seem to introduce the pattern in the small square cross sections of the squared block at 1:39? Do you wedge it a bit before slicing to introduce some amount of marbling?

what clay are they using for nerikomi? Been loving this technique over the usual glazed pieces and would want to try it out :)

These patterns & colours are absolutely stunningly beautiful - wow! It's bad you have to hear car horns going BEEP BEEP all the time: noise pollution, I think they should only use them in an emergency, do they annoy you or are you concentrating so hard that you don't hear them?

Jenny Hughes thank you. I did worried about the BEEP BEEP when I was filming this video but i find it was okay to me. I was concentrating on my work and some times I can hear the bird singing. Art cures everything

@@honghong1827Thank you for answering. What is the colorant called and what it's made of?

Was this made of porcelain? Or standard clay? I would love to tell me, do you color your clay with liquid or powder?
