I always add titles to my Goodreads whenever you do a book video. That America Redux book looks really great.

Yes! Love this, Michelle. Totally missed you posting this. I’ve had In the Middle in my Thriftbooks cart forever but wasn't sure since I couldn't find info inside. Thank you for the peek inside. We are on the same wavelength! It all starts with us. Thank you so much for sharing 🩵

Yes! I watched your PD video yesterday and we’re definitely on the same wave length. Prioritizing the time to educate ourselves is important, as well as looking into continuing education opportunities. I so appreciate your sharing your PD list 📚. I added quite a few to my TBR list. Honestly these types of books are some of my favorite to read 📖😁. I look forward to your book updates!

@@michellegf couldn’t had said it better myself and couldn’t agree more! It has been a priority I’ve had since day 1 and that will never change. Looking forward to hearing what you think as you read along! I just got the last few I was waiting for in the mail today, I’m excited!

Thank you! I find thriftbooks the cheapest place to find a lot of teacher resource books.

I recently got watching your videos. I’m soo benefiting from whatever experience you share in this homeschooling journey. You’re helping many of us who also treading this path.
I wanted to know what made you go for Lightening literature, even though in one of your reviews you did mention the questions are not geared critical thinking/analysing literature? (torch light does make up for that like you mentioned)
Have you looked into Moving Beyond the Page? I came across it few days ago and it goes in depth with the books.

I’m glad your finding my channel helpful! I chose LL for a few reasons.
      1. I like the book selection, it really gets my daughter to read lots of different kinds of books
      2. It builds towards independence
      3. The grammar lessons and writing assignments relate to the books being read
      4. I appreciate the comprehension questions as it’s a check to make sure she actually read the assigned work and understands it.
      5. After each book, there is a series of book discussion questions that I do with my daughter. Much like you would have in a book club. It’s more about analyzing the reading. Also after completing each book there is a book analysis. This covers story elements (setting, characters, symbolism, internal details, conflicts etc..)
I have looked an Moving Beyond the Page and I am not impressed. The units very much remind me of unit studies you would find from Teachers paid teachers. Honestly I think Core Knowledge units are better structured and you can get CK for free. I think MBTP is overpriced for what you get. Please remember this is just my opinion. Its a curriculum that wouldn’t work for my kids, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work for others.

Thank you for the video! Lovely book recommendations as always .
And I don't like dystopia either . Except for Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood .

It’s not my genre of choice but I also think it’s good to read outside of what you normally like. That’s one of the things I really like about joining a book club 📚

Great video! Added a few books to my cart. Who is the author for the Kitchen Table Homeschool? I'm trying to find the book to also add it to my cart. Thank you so much!
