Same. I asked if there were any physical therapies or shoes or devices that could allow me to avoid surgery. The doc rolled her eyes and said no. Yah. I'm so glad that I found this doctor.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! PRAISE GOD that your videos appeared as suggestions. I asked the surgeon to "straighten" my big toe when he removed the bunion years ago. After the surgery, he said he didn't straighten it because he was waiting for "the next time". I did not return to him. I'm praying after watching more videos and visiting your website, I will have the info I need to stop the pain, stiffness, and correct the positions of my toes. Thank you, again, for your exceptional detail and posting these videos!! (I've watched 2). GOD BLESS YOU!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏽♥️
Wow. I wish I could have seen a video like this 10 years ago. Before all the conventional care and orthotics, stiff shoes, and NO mention of natural, foot-shaped shoes! I've been on the journey toward natural foot health for a month , and grateful to at least of come across it at all!
Thank you for the nice note and we always look to be a resource and the center of information for improving foot health and supporting those on their journey! Always feel free to reach out with questions!
Amen, bro. 👍 Love this. I’ve been doing Pilates and we do a lot of foot and ankle articulation work, spreading out the toes. I swear my “flat feet” are getting stronger and I’m developing more of an arch in my feet. Amazing stuff.
THANKYOU! Finally a video that explains clearly and concisely what is happening with this foot problem. Also your diagrams are a huge help with visualising the problem. I noticed a slight ache developing in my left foot and did not even realize the huge implications of this for my wellbeing until I looked up this bizarre word "bunions"! Then I watched a large number of videos about foot health that all talked a lot of gibberish and most of the doctors just wanted to demonstrate how smart they were without communicating anything vital in a simple, accessible way. I did not learn anything USEFUL until now! Thanks again!
Fixed mine myself as well. Just went to town on my foot one day and 💥. Yes toe separators help keep them aligned. But don’t be afraid to massage your own feet! Show that bunion who’s boss!!
Thanks for sharing the knowledge and treatment. The real doctor really wants to fix the cause. Most doctors only fix the symptom, may cause more harms.
thanks, Tuan! More than happy to help. That's what we think too- best to treat the cause if possible, rather than just treating the symptoms that will likely reoccur!
6:30 what suggestions do you have for when splinting products shift the four toes instead of the big toe? I think I'm having that problem, but nor because it's tight-but rather my ligaments are too loose. I can wear the CorrectToes no problem for a long time, but my big toe is still somewhat crooked while wearing it.
Wow! Thank you so much for explaining. I always thought that the bone gets thicker that's why the surgeon shaves it off and that's how was explained to me. So I had the date and time for double bounionectomy, but I got scared and didn't go through with it. I started exercising my feet and toes and the numbness was gone, in two weeks I could feel my big toes again. Another few weeks the pain was completely gone and I could walk normally again. Thank you for mentioning that bunion treatment can be used on fingers too.
I agree that wearing „correctoes“ (in shoes with big enough toe boxes) is crucial in bunion prevention. But there might be one more thing worth to mention. It’s FOOT POSITION. Here’s an excerpt from the book „Every Woman’s Guide To Foot Pain Relief“ by Katy Bowman (it’s a superb book, the title is slightly ridiculous though). „Now let us assume that you have never worn shoes that pinched your feet. In fact, let’s say you’ve never worn shoes at all. Bunions are made in other ways, too. As mentioned earlier, there is a large prevanlence of turned-out feet. Just look around the next time you go out walking in any public place. As mentioned before, this turn-out creates an increased amount of side-to-side motion of the foot instead of the normal front-to-back motion. The sideways use of the ankle has the weight of the body rolling not off the tip of the big toe, as in normal gait, but rolling over the side of the joint, which loads the big toe incorrectly. More simply said, when the foot is turned-out, the „bunion area“ of the joint presses into the ground with each step!“
Or, a person starts to walk like a duck after their feet pronate due to hallux valgus. A lot of obesity, as well, in modern life, and that doesn't help things either.
Best video I've seen so far on this. Another guy in another video said that bunions were "calcium deposits." I knew that wasn't true. This video describes how bunions are formed and the body mechanics very well.
Thank you, Alice, for your positive feedback. We hope you find some of our other videos just as helpful. If you ever have any questions, please let us know.
People born with flat foot can develope bunions without using improper shoes. This happened to me. And in order to fix my bunions I need first to fix the flat foot.
Wow. This finally makes sense of a comment a podiatrist had made about 15 years ago, where he said I had a bunion. (Note: I don't have a bump on the side of my foot, no crossed toes, in fact my foot looks exactly like a tongue depressor.) He said *exactly* what you said a typical podiatrist would: X-rayed my foot, said I had a bunion (he must have been looking at that 10-12 degree angle, although he didn't tell me that, he just said it's loose ligaments in the big toe) and prescribed a rigid orthotic (which I never used because of the increased discomfort and had to eat the $450 cost of because insurance wouldn't pay.) He was probably just prepping me for the eventual surgery he wanted to do. I am starting over again with my feet. I just got my CorrectToes and Pedag metatarsal pads. And I'm watching ALL the videos on this channel. Thank you for this very clearly explained information!
Great information and it works after a year with Lems Boulder boots 👢 Correct toes I am feeling the results. I also do the toe stretch, now I am getting the Lems Primal 2 for my birthday. 25 foot surgeries for bunions Burnett’s, neuromas, pronation, and hammertoes I was developed knee problems could hardly stand also ininji socks this is a miracle that I thought would’ve nerver happen but my walking standing coming back. I wasn’t a believer but now I am. Thanks Dr. Ray and Northwest for revealing the facts not just cutting and hurting people.
Very useful information. Thanks a lot for being so much conscious about the health of the people that you never know and wish you very happy, healthy days with your family and anyone you love. Nice and golden hearted people like you will let the humanity to survive since kindness is contagious!!!
Forgot to mention. This can also lead to pelvis problems and scoliosis as wrong feet biomechanics will lead to compensations in the whole body. Just a thought.
Thank you for very helpful video! I have first degree bunion on my right toe. Does wearing sandals rather than shoes help to prevent the bunion from growing bigger?
I am grateful for this info, thank you! I've always been told that my bunions are hereditary. I've been a dancer for more than 25 years, and I figure that all the work I did to have strong supple feet and legs was the reason I'm pain free. My question is: Can these techniques help my born-this-way bunions from ever getting worse?
I love this video ... very helpful for my bunion. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these educational videos. Is there a particular brand of deep heat cream you would recommend to use for these stretches?
Human body is such a wonderful machinery. And this doctor is one of a few only who understands the biomechanics and the beauty of a human foot. Thank you doctor. Such a great channel. And please remember from down the foot up to your skull. It is all a connective chain. Never ever look into just one part of your body. My healing journey has opened my eyes to how beautifully a human body should flow. I kind of paid my price but staying positive and learning. Good health everyone. Be patient and educate yourself from videos like this one.
HOW I HANDLED POSSIBLE MISALIGNMENT OF OTHER TOES FROM A NOT VERY MOBILE GREAT TOE PRESSING ON MY CORRECT TOES. My big toe wasn't all that bent (not as much as Rebecca's), but my big toe wasn't budging with the Correct Toes on as it ought and was therefore pushing on the other toes. Concerned that I'd get inappropriate alignment, for the first month, I used Kinesiology tape to stretch the toe into a straight position while wearing my Correct toes. This took the pressure off of the big toe spacer and allowed the other toes to space on their own. I'd tape for a couple of days on and then a day off. (I took time off because I was concerned about joint mobility.) I was also doing joint mobility and foot strengthening exercises. Then, after the joints were sufficiently mobile, I was able to use the Correct toes and they then were actually able straighten the toe. (Not fully, but Correct toes doesn't make a size between the medium and large, which is what I would need.) At that point, I was able to add additional girth to the great toe spacer and straighten the toe fully with just Correct Toes... no need to tape as often. Can't find the taping video, but it was one for ballet dancers, but what I did was use about a 4" length of KT cut into 3 long strips; I adhered the tape just below the nail on the side of the toe being careful to start the stretch after the first joint, I then stretched the tape to below where the bunion was, then without stretched I adhered the tape up along the arch -- overlap the other two pieces using the same technique... and then use two small rounded bits to cover and protect the ends when putting on and off socks. One strip was not enough to hold the toe in place. When doing this I had to be careful to make sure the toe was straight and level with the ground and I wasn't stretching it so much that I was jamming or impinging on my ability to move the toe. Over two days the tape would stretch more (due to movement and exercises) and so the greatest correction was on the first day.
This video was very informative. I have a bunion. I went to a podiatrist and was sent to get an x-ray. He told me I had flat feet and ordered me an arch support. He really never said much about the bunion, which the x-ray showed I had. I've been doing internet search for information. Glad I stumbled on this video.
Thank you so much this was very informative what would you do if you have bad arthritis in your hands and in your toes and it's doing the same thing to your hands that's doing to your toes they're pointing inward what do you do with the the second toe is get into actually from the bunion??
a 63 y old women, diabetic, but no insullin, has a mild neutophaty in her legs; the hallux valgus on her right foot causes a corn between the big toe and the second toe; she also has a high arch; one doc says not to remove the corn, just to cover it and wear larger shoes; another said to get rid of it and also wear a specia plantar lift in a larger shoe. What would you advice about the corn? And the lift?
Pamela, live in Spokane, have left foot bunion about six months, hurts to walk on Treadmill with closed shoes, bought 1/2 size bigger shoe, can make it one hour, next Day hurts. Can’t walk barefoot without some pain, went to kaiser, said was a 14 recommended surgery Dr. Monson, Liked him but Read a review that scared me, if I could have a second opinion would be good? Thanks
Great video. I have that problem you mentioned, where spacers push my small toes further out rather than pushing the big toe in. Is there any remedy for this? Thanks
I just had bunion surgery, but even after it, I bought a bunion corrector that you wear mostly at night. It pulls over your big toe and has a brace on your bunion.
I would really like to come and apply as a client, but I'm not living in Washington. I'm living in Indonesia. I've already ordered the original correct toes online and they say thr stuff is on its way. But only wearing those correct toes, is that enough? I really want my foot to go back to normal position. I think my bunion condition is still minor. Thanks
I realized this video is 3 years old but which shoes is the doctor wearing? They are way more stylish than any that are linked on the correct toes website!
Hey guys please I have a question about this tool that he told us about it, when we use it and how long is it at night or morning or whole day shall we use it for year or how long ?
These folks are right on. Unfortunately I had to wear shoes to school that were often too small and had bunions as a pre-teen. In my 50's I started wearing a toe separator between the great toe and it's neighbour. As he says, it is a mistake because it simply pushed the lesser toes over and I developed bunionettes in my 60's. Now in my late 70's and although it's too late for me they are spot on. One other problem is that the floor of the shoe becomes indented at the great toe so may further prevent correction. Cheers from Canada.
Loree, if you have any topical questions or concerns, maybe we could help. Please call or email us and we'll offer the best response possible. 503.243.2699/customerservice@correcttoes.com
What about the limit of conservative approach? I wore correct toes for about a month and I feel that my second toe is moving and bending a bit towards the third toe, just like you mentioned in the video. What I should do then? I'm a bit worried, and the size pf my bunions haven't change. Thank you so much
Hi I'm Frenchesca I will be coming to your office from NC. I've worn heels and sneakers for years,it was after moving to Chicago l started developing pain and foot issues. This video is far beyond best!!!!!!!
Hello. Just referring to end of your video when you talked about the correct toes potentially moving the other toes over instead of correctly repositioning the first toe. I have a mild bunion only but a lot of in between first and second metatarsals and completely flat arches. I have had the correct toes for some time now (several months on and off) but no improvement. How can I tell I am not doing further harm? Thanks
We don't typically recommend orthotics, they don't allow your foot to do the work. Instead it acts as a cast or splint that aids your foot. Allowing your muscles to activate and strengthen is how you can improve arch strength.
Question: If you already have a large space related to a bunion, then does wearing Correct Toes actually cause claw toe? You said the Correct Toes could pull up on the smaller toes in that case. And that looks in the video like it would promote claw toe. I'd love to know. Thanks.
Hi, what shoes do you recommend for the office . I stopped wearing heels about a year ago but recently my bunion has been causing me pain even with my loafers.
Try a pair of FitKicks! They're an affordable and easy option. Best of all, they are very wide and very flexible. www.correcttoes.com/shop/footwear/fit-kicks-black-men.html
Hello, I need help with bunions. I've got a pretty bad one on the left foot and small one on the right. I'm a runner and cyclist and have had enough of this hurting. I've also tried many things. Maybe I haven't stuck to them long enough. Where are you located? I live in the D/FW, Texas area. Or maybe you could recommend someone in my area. Thank you. I always thought surgery was my only option, but wouldn't like to be down that long and do know the long term side effects and that's it's not always a 100% cure. Your video is very informative and gives me a true understanding of how my bunions formed in the first place. Unfortunately, I've never worn extremely high heels, tight shoes or flip flops, but something went wrong. I'm just ready to get this party started. I'm determined and will stick to whatever protocol is required because it's definitely put a damper on my activities. Thank you.
Hi Christy, We are located in Portland, Oregon. Unfortunately do not know any podiatrists with a similar approach in your area. That said, some of the doctors in our clinic do offer remote consults, which might be a great option for you! It sounds like you have the motivation, now you just need the method! You can call our office at 503-243-2699 to schedule an appointment. In any case, we're so happy that you enjoyed our video. It can be frustrating to deal with these problems alone, and we want to make sure people have as much information as possible. Hope you're having a wonderful day!
BodyFusions Massage Hi,, I fixed my bunion problem with exercise of my feet and toes every day first thing in the morning and during relaxing time before going to bed. I walked on tippy-toes and put a rubber band on my toes pulled it apart, released it 10 times/5 sets. That's all pain is gone.
Use this technique to help with your bunion. It's easy, free and helps to relieve pain quickly. Watch the instructional video for help. www.rolfinggrace.com/2011/01/fix-your-own-dang-bunion-the-videos/
I am a footballer and I have a big problem in all my fingers as my fingers bent like the hawksbill and I can not juggling the ball Could the warp is why my fingers
Very large growth on top and in between 5th toe had a corn now the growth has gotten bigger. Dr treated it as an abcess but very little fluid came out im worried it hurts very bad
I have never worn small toed shoes. Don't do heels or boots, but my left big toe is upon my second toe, and there is a thick callus growing on the bottom of my big toe joint...... and somewhere in there blood leaks out under the callus, and causes pain until I take something and let it out, then it heals up until the next time.....where does the leaking blood come from?
You mentioned that many times before someone gets this information their adductor hallucis becomes too tight and doesn't allow the big toe to come back to a natural position. Instead, if correct toes are used, then the big toe overpowers and moves the other toes out of alignment. What would be a way to overcome this? Would a nightly splint to try and move the big toe to a better position be effective over time to allow that movement and then use the correct toes after?
@@correcttoes Thanks for the reply. The 30 second clip from 6:00 to 6:33 of this video explains a problem and I'm just wondering what the solution to that problem would be.
@@theycallhimjeffery Sure thing! That same 30 second clip is actually explaining the solution, look back to the beginning right at 6 minutes- stretching, getting flexibility, and using Correct Toes. Earlier the better for preventative care.
thank you for your videos, very helpful. I have heel and arch pain in both feet, doctor says it's plantar fascitis. he tells me to get running shoes like asics or nb. these shoes actually hurt my feet more. I've heard you say to wear a flat shoe? is this a good option for me? I also have bunions on both feet. thank you!
We're so to hear that glad you've enjoyed them. Flat, wide, and flexible shoes can be very helpful to those suffering from plantar faciosis. Wearing foot-shaped footwear also helps minimize the effects of bunions, as shoes with overly-narrow toe-boxes can often exacerbate the negative effects of bunions. Given your issues, it sounds you should definitely give flat, wide, and flexible shoes a try! Thanks for watching the videos!
Tailor's bunions can often be treated very similarly to bunions, though of course it would depend on your own unique foot! Shoes without arch support can be helpful for strengthening your arches, but make sure to transition into their use in order to ensure that your feet are strong enough to tolerate the lack of support.
Northwest Foot & Ankle Thank you. FYI I have cavovarus feet. High arch and inward facing on both feet. I believe the only thing I can do besides surgery is not wear tight toed shoes and foot stretches. I’m not 100% sure which stretches.
My toe is now stuck five months later after bunionectomy. Cannot plantar or dorsiflex my big toe. I saw the x-ray and it’s not fused . Why is it stuck🤦🏽♂️ I worried that it might be permanent
I am wearing an ordinary splint during the night ( the one that is shown on line, * the bunion corrector * blue splint), are they safe to wear, until I buy the correct toes, which may be in two months, or should I wear nothing on my feet
Hi Catherine, as we are not doctors, we wouldn't be able to venture an opinion on care specific to you. I'd encourage you to check with your primary care provider. Thanks for checking out the video!
Hi i was wondering if i were to get some correct toes what would be correct foot wear, i want to run and i was thinking of getting some merrell trail gloves, so that i can do some trail running in the woods near my house
I would be careful running right away with the device and new shoes. You need to get used to the changes first before running. As for shoes, I tried Altra running shoes with zero drop and wide toe box, and they are the first shoes ever that felt that comfortable and that seemed to keep my foot in a natural position.
HI there, we at NW Foot and Ankle will often recommend custom shoes. We work with Laughing crowe(Portland, OR) which does tremendous work and knows Correct Toes well.
is it at all common for the Distal part of the big toe to be dislocated at the same time as the "ball of the foot" joint? or is that a whole different issue?? i started developing a bunion, BUT also the distal joint closer to the toenail began to swell and hurt. is that because of the bunion or not??
Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to answer this question, as we're not educated as doctors. We'd encourage you to ask your primary provider this question. Alternatively, we offer remote consults with our doctors here in the clinic. If that is something you'd be interested in, please reach out to us by email at info@correcttoes.com. Thanks for checking out the video!
Hi Judy! A podiatrist in your area would be able to do this removal. Some family physicians may be able to help as well- I would confirm with your doctor to make sure. Thanks for the question!
Can this preventative care be used even if you had bunion surgery? I had my surgery when I was 16 years ago - my toe has just reverted back *pointless*
Hi, Cherelle. Great question. Generally, if you still have mobility in your toes after surgery, you should be able to find benefit using preventative care- whether that means performing foot exercises or wearing Correct Toes. However, if you have diminished sensation in your feet, we'd recommend consulting with your doctor prior. Hope that helps :)
@@cherelled6419 that's great news about the mobility in your feet! Regarding toes that revert back- it is possible for them to do so if conventional footwear is still worn. For example, shoes that are tapered in the toe box prevent the big toe joint to remain in its natural position, and has the potential to create the bunion again. As an alternative: wearing shoes that are widest at the tips of the toes helps your feet spread out. For a full explanation, here's an article from our website below. Please let me know if you have any questions! www.correcttoes.com/foot-help/hereditary-bunion-myth-part-iii-by-dr-ray-mcclanahan-dpm/
I wish I was close by to make an appt. I developed a bunion because of an injury to the plantar plate which lead to an mtp bone bruise and now hallux limitus. The only thing I've been offered is fusion by four Drs. I've been stretching the big toe and inflammation has reduced but when I try to wear a splint the joint is so arthritic that it just feels like it's jamming into the joint w every step so I take it out and adjust my gate to favor the toe. Which throws out my hips. My spine will not hold an adjustment anymore. I cant walk for exercise. This has altered my life significantly.
Sorry to hear that you've been going through all of that. We'd love to help--and fortunately, our office is proud to be able to offer remote consults. Check out this page for more information: www.nwfootankle.com/new-patient-forms/ Regardless of whether you are able to make an appointment, make sure to check out the exercises on our website. They can be very helpful for recovery.
I wanted to ask you something. I have bunions on both feet. Right foot is bad. And the way you are showing in the video. I think this is it on right foot. Left foot is starting. Same way. Need help
Use this technique to help with your bunion. It's easy and helps to relieve pain quickly. Watch the instructional video for help. www.rolfinggrace.com/2011/01/fix-your-own-dang-bunion-the-videos/
Hi , it's very important information l have a problem with left toes I use painkillers my blood content show's over reactive protin or sometime more uric acid
I've read up on this now, and I've learned the general guideline is an hour per day (while up, not in bed) for a month, then 2 hours per day for a month, then 3 hours, then 4 hours per day for the 4th month. It might not look like it would require that, but it is a big change for a troubled foot. I am finding that every change including a shoe change does cause some awareness (pain?) while the bones and muscles are changing. Compare that to the chronic discomfort of continuing to do nothing to help your poor feet and legs.
mine is so severe I don't have much function of the big tie. my doctor said my only choice to correct thus is surgery. I'm scheduled to have it done on the ninth of this month.
Hi, Wendy. We're sorry to hear that surgery is the strongest choice, however, we wish you the absolute best with the surgery and recovery. We are hoping full function will be restored to your feet and that you will no longer have to deal with debilitating pain. Let us know if you have any questions and we'd be happy to assist.
Be careful, Wendy, ... different doctors have different approaches. My mother had severe bunions. One doctor gave her a good price for removing her bunions. That meant just shaving or cutting off the part that stuck out. But he did nothing to straighten out her curved bones and overlapping toes. So she ended up with a worse problem than before and was very upset about it. So I hope you will choose your doctor and procedure carefully.
I want to cry... I have bunions for years... approx 20 yrs. I went to the dr about 10 yrs ago and the dr told be to come back after having all my children. Well by bunion is now affecting the function of plantar fascia. I have developed plantar fasciitis. I rather do all natural approach to healing. What type of dr would offer such treatment?
+Guadalupe Marroquin These doctors do not have a clue other than what they were taught in med school. I have now worn this device for almost 3 months and feel like I have my life back. I had plantar fasciitis and a bunion on my right foot. Now I can walk normally. Take my advise and try the correct toes device. Use it a little every day incremently increasing the time. Buy the correct shoes to use with the device; I bought a pair of Lems. Next you will be helping someone find a way out of pain.
It truly depends on your unique case. It most definitely can be a result of compensation and stance/position, if you are trying to avoid injury or pain to the Bunion.
This was so useful to me and I’m investigating further. The thing I’d like to know is how can one foot be affected and the other normal? My right foot is but my left isn’t and I see that the woman had only one bad foot. I’m right handed and prefer the right foot over the left.
I tried the toe spacer my feet are to far gone they just made my feet hurt worse. Don't wait I'm trying to get my 15 year old daughter to wear her toe spacers and arch support if I would have tried it 40 years ago I may have been able to straighten them
Wear your arch supports Do arch raising then go up on your toes It really help your arch from falling Be proactive eat a keto diet Sugar, carbs and processed foods veg oil almost killed me.i was 6'6" Now 6'4" I stopped my decline by going on a high fat diet had bone to bone between my 4&5 metatarsal I'm always learning and low fat diet is starvation for your cells don't drink the kool aid We need more dr. Like this.
Hi again, Rashid! Correct Toes are great for restoring the natural alignment of your toes. Please let us know if you have any questions when you purchase. We would be happy to help!
After 2 billions of videos about bunions this is the BEST explanation. Thanks a lot.

Any updates?
Cant cure high blood pressure without medication either

Wow finally someone who clears up what a bunion is, how it formed, how it works and can be corrected. God bless u for freely sharing with us!
I healed my bunions myself. Good job on this video. Rarely is anyone in medical ever offering sound advice in prevention. Nice to see

How did u heal your bunion yourself

THANKYOU! Finally a video that explains clearly and concisely what is happening with this foot problem. Also your diagrams are a huge help with visualising the problem. Fixed mine myself as well. Just went to town on my foot one day and 💥. Yes toe separators help keep them aligned. But don’t be afraid to massage your own feet! Show that bunion who’s boss!!
😄😄😄
It is so good to know the reason to get bunion.self care is most important as daily treatment.thank you.

If you ever have any questions, please let us know.
so true! years of wearing cowboy boots and tight shoes , hope it's not to late for me to fix.
Flint,
As long as your have the slightest bit of mobility in your toes and feet, it is not too late. Let us know if you have any further questions.
Thank you! We're excited to be on this journey with you.
Which one of the pads? I have now begun my journey to heal bunions.
We're so glad you found the video helpful. We wish the same to you!
Forgot to mention. This can also lead to pelvis problems and scoliosis as wrong feet biomechanics will lead to compensations in the whole body. Just a thought.
Is there a way to correct the deviation of the pinky toes?
I'm suffering from it more than the the big toe
Eric Mark there is a video on this channel about the pinky. Look for tailored bunion or bunionette.
THE BEST video & info. I’ve seen re: bunions! Thanks so much!
My question is:
Can these techniques help my born-this-way bunions from ever getting worse?
I love this video ... very helpful for my bunion. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these educational videos. Is there a particular brand of deep heat cream you would recommend to use for these stretches?
Thanks, Crystal! So glad to hear it was helpful :) We really like the Sombra Warm Therapy Gel.
Thank you Doc for this information. Im a massage therapy student and your video inspires me!
Keep striving for greatness with compassion!
I’m glad I found this platform. Though it’s late for my bunion but I hope it’ll help me if I follow it.
it's been month/years I was looking for that video OMG !
gonna watch all the stuff you have around. thank you so much in advance
We can't express how happy we are to get this feedback! Thank you also for your insight. We wish you a happy and healthy journey!
Me too!
I got injured at my foot. Now i want to go back to normal and then to go to excellence. Even barefoot shoes.
And walk walk walk.
Thank you so much this was very informative what would you do if you have bad arthritis in your hands and in your toes and it's doing the same thing to your hands that's doing to your toes they're pointing inward what do you do with the the second toe is get into actually from the bunion??
brilliant. we've only got one natural podiatrist in Melbourne and you've explained this perfectly.
a 63 y old women, diabetic, but no insullin, has a mild neutophaty in her legs; the hallux valgus on her right foot causes a corn between the big toe and the second toe; she also has a high arch; one doc says not to remove the corn, just to cover it and wear larger shoes; another said to get rid of it and also wear a specia plantar lift in a larger shoe.
Good idea. And massage it i say.
Thank you. I'm terrified of bunion surgery.
Hi Lydia! Thank you for commenting. I'm sorry, but I don't see any shoes in this video. Could you be referring to another video? Thanks!
Hey guys please I have a question about this tool that he told us about it, when we use it and how long is it at night or morning or whole day shall we use it for year or how long ?
Hi, Is the way of walking affect and cause bunions? When I walk my foot goes a bit outwards and the muscle in the arch-big toe is kinda hard to move
Thank you for sharing! We appreciate your support. We are hear for you if you need anything, we work with many ages and populations.
Very well explained, he must be a teacher.
Oh man, would I love to see this doctor! My foot is DYING!

If trying a splint and noticing it pulling the other 4 toes up and over? Do we cease use or is there something we can do to help this?
i’m only 12 and i have a mild bunion so i’m using toe seperators to see if my big toe will realign in to its natural position.
Where’d you get the toe separators?
Arisra P on amazon ;) 💘❤️
How is your bunion now?
What about the limit of conservative approach? I wore correct toes for about a month and I feel that my second toe is moving and bending a bit towards the third toe, just like you mentioned in the video. What I should do then? I'm a bit worried, and the size pf my bunions haven't change. Thank you so much
Hi I'm Frenchesca I will be coming to your office from NC. I've worn heels and sneakers for years,it was after moving to Chicago l started developing pain and foot issues. This video is far beyond best!!!!!!!
This is the information I have been hoping to find nearly all of my adult life. Thankyou
David I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. Link in my about tab.
Thanks
How do u straighten your toes?
This is explained so clearly... you immediately notice the person knows exactly what they're doing. I'm starting to work on my bunnions.

Does the custom orthotic have to be worn forever after or will the patient eventually redevelop a better arch?
We don't typically recommend orthotics, they don't allow your foot to do the work. Instead it acts as a cast or splint that aids your foot. Allowing your muscles to activate and strengthen is how you can improve arch strength.
What if I don’t have bunions but my big toe is still bent??
Question: If you already have a large space related to a bunion, then does wearing Correct Toes actually cause claw toe? You said the Correct Toes could pull up on the smaller toes in that case. And that looks in the video like it would promote claw toe. I'd love to know. Thanks.
Is there foot doctors that own foot wear brand ? What brands do you recommend? I heard New Balance is better than sketchers.
Altra or Lems
Hi, what shoes do you recommend for the office . I stopped wearing heels about a year ago but recently my bunion has been causing me pain even with my loafers.
Try a pair of FitKicks! They're an affordable and easy option. Best of all, they are very wide and very flexible. www.correcttoes.com/shop/footwear/fit-kicks-black-men.html
Could small joints of fingers be conservatively corrected
Thank you.
Hi Christy,
We are located in Portland, Oregon.

Hi,, I fixed my bunion problem with exercise of my feet and toes every day first thing in the morning and during relaxing time before going to bed. I walked on tippy-toes and put a rubber band on my toes pulled it apart, released it 10 times/5 sets. That's all pain is gone.
Do toe streachers work the same way I been using them daily while showering
+VomitxHate I think they help. It probably stretches the muscle across the metatarsals.
Vkei+fitness Have the stretchers been working? I just started using them.
Where can you get shoes that have a naturally-shaped toe box? I have been trying to find shoes like this for decades.
Check out the shoe list on our website! they are all Natural foot approved! www.correcttoes.com/foot-help/view-all/
Is there any non-surgical treatment for when joint fluid escapes the top of toe knuckle and creates a soft ball on top the toe?
How do you know it is fluid? Maybe fat deposit or cyst.
Are there any cheaper options that are like the Correct Toes splints and work?
Use this technique to help with your bunion. It's easy, free and helps to relieve pain quickly. Watch the instructional video for help.

I'm very happy to hear this awesome explanation.
We are unsure of your question or statement. Correct toes are used to overcome the tightened adductor hallucis.
Thanks for watching the videos!
what brand of shoe would you recommend? thank you
Hi John, you can check out our recommended shoes here: www.correcttoes.com/foot-help/shoe-list/ Hope this helps!
Does this apply to bunionettes (Taylor bunion)? The smallest toe. Are shoes without arches recommended?

I have had the surgery to realign the toe and the deviation is occurring again. Doing everything I can to prevent them.
I have correct toes....but omg it hurts.
Hi Valerie! We applaud you on your journey to achieving natural foot health :) Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
How long do those last?
Hi
i was wondering if i were to get some correct toes what would be correct foot wear, i want to run and i was thinking of getting some merrell trail gloves, so that i can do some trail running in the woods near my house
I would be careful running right away with the device and new shoes. You need to get used to the changes first before running. As for shoes, I tried Altra running shoes with zero drop and wide toe box, and they are the first shoes ever that felt that comfortable and that seemed to keep my foot in a natural position.
What if you cannot find shoes that fit? I’ve been looking for almost a year
HI there, we at NW Foot and Ankle will often recommend custom shoes. We work with Laughing crowe(Portland, OR) which does tremendous work and knows Correct Toes well.
@@correcttoes im with a providence connect plan. Idk if I can see ur under my plan bud I’ll have to check when I get time

I have a bunion that I was considering surgery to correct. Thank u
is it at all common for the Distal part of the big toe to be dislocated at the same time as the "ball of the foot" joint? or is that a whole different issue?? i started developing a bunion, BUT also the distal joint closer to the toenail began to swell and hurt. is that because of the bunion or not??
Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to answer this question, as we're not educated as doctors. We'd encourage you to ask your primary provider this question. Alternatively, we offer remote consults with our doctors here in the clinic. If that is something you'd be interested in, please reach out to us by email at info@correcttoes.com. Thanks for checking out the video!
Is there a toenail doctor in the Denver area who will remove my yellow thick fungus big toenail?
@@correcttoes thank you so much for your reply 😊 I have sensation, so happy days.
May I ask, is it normal for your toes to revert back?
@@cherelled6419 that's great news about the mobility in your feet! Regarding toes that revert back- it is possible for them to do so if conventional footwear is still worn. For example, shoes that are tapered in the toe box prevent the big toe joint to remain in its natural position, and has the potential to create the bunion again.
As an alternative: wearing shoes that are widest at the tips of the toes helps your feet spread out. For a full explanation, here's an article from our website below. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi , it's very important information l have a problem with left toes I use painkillers my blood content show's over reactive protin or sometime more uric acid
for how long of a period of time should I wear my toe spacers?
It's hurt a lot ?
Seriously Alice, wtf....what part of "Do no further harm" do they not understand about their job....ugh shit like that makes me so mad.
Finally got a good vedio about bunion
God bless you for your holistic healing counsel. 🙏🦋🐛🥀
Does bunions cause red and soreness under the toes?
It truly depends on your unique case. It most definitely can be a result of compensation and stance/position, if you are trying to avoid injury or pain to the Bunion.
Wow, good explanation 👌🏾. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was so useful to me and I’m investigating further. The thing I’d like to know is how can one foot be affected and the other normal? My right foot is but my left isn’t and I see that the woman had only one bad foot. I’m right handed and prefer the right foot over the left.
