      Very difficult to say but for me, 3 players stand out and that is Adrian Mateos, Dan Smith, and upcoming Mario Mosbock ♠3 players that I would hate to have at the table would be Phil Ivey, Stephen Chidwick and probably Michael Addamo

    The odd thing about this hand is that the types of hands that are best changed frequently throughout the hand. It's hard to think of a lot of hands that would want to go 3 streets. I'm no expert though; I'm quite sure Ponakovs has a better idea than I do.

    What about the option to raise with the Q9 hand on the river??? targeting two paris, sets to fold.

  • @agk696
    @agk696 8 місяців тому +3

    Something about Ponakov's bet sizing and/or timing must have tipped him off. Or maybe this was the nth time he raised on the BB. History and observation counts. The player I fear most is the one who notes these things well, not a GTO robot.

    • @DavidTURNER-we4ek
      @DavidTURNER-we4ek 5 місяців тому

      He raised preflop and then bet half pot on the flop. Doesn't make sense on the flop with a jack. An ace may make since but why so heavy on the flop with no ace and river with a straight draw apparent? Perhaps a king? A king would've slowed down on the ace and river. His bet sizing on different rounds was sketchy.

  • @Zoggyboyzimmy

    Long story short, his best calls will block his most likely value like J9, the main reasons he found the call were aleks’ near pot sizings which are basically just bad because he no longer reps sets or 2 pairs and he makes his value super thin whilst his bluffs can be infinite because he may still have a 40% iso ranges trash pure in his range

    • @nikitaserov9430
      @nikitaserov9430 8 місяців тому

      Excellent. Except J9 is out of the question since he's unlikely to bet it, especially bet it big on the turn

  • @nikitaserov9430
    @nikitaserov9430 8 місяців тому +1

    Well, he's realistically representing only AJ and maybe JT. However, the sizing on the river is a bit suspicious, cause if you've got the jack, would you bet 75% if you want to get value from a pair? Plus, Addamo might be thinking that there are a lot of combos of low to mid pocket pairs which could turn themselves into a bluff. He had a comfortable stack as well. Considering that the opponent is representing a very narrow range and can have a number of hands without showdown value turning them into a bluff, and when making the call wont put your tournament life in danger, that's a pretty logical call. The main question is, is this particular opponent capable of going for a bluff against Addamo? If the answer is yes, this is a pretty justified call.

      Mostly because of how the board changed and ponakovs didn't react. There aren't many hands that would want to bet the flop, turn, and river. On the flop an overpair, draw, or a king are probably what want to bet. Then the turn is an offsuit ace, so now most kings slow down. Only things betting the turn and flop are probably Ak, AQ, flush draws, and maybe some other miscellaneous but not strong hands. Then when the river is an offsuit 10, the draw misses and now a jack makes the straight and beats all of those aces and kings. So basically the flop, turn, and river all significantly changed which hands should be betting, so when the guy bets all 3 streets it doesn't really tell the story of a strong hand

If someone made this call down in your weekly sunday major tournament most people would be like "wtf is this clown doing?" But because its in a 200k buy in it become impressive? The more I play poker the more i've found that every hand is a friggin coinflip and the actual hole cards are irrelevant. You're either going to win or lose.

    This is my thought, Alex is pushing a Kx hand on the flop. But he keeps betting after the A hits. It's almost like he's determined to sell a bluff when maybe he should have pulled back with the A or if he had an A, not bet on the flop.
    It's like his betting is too consistent with a lot of change on the board. Like he's selling a bluff.
