I like your work and nice to watch. Sorry, it seems you're wasting a lot of material. No planing? For example, when you want to make a funnel shape, you should not pour resin in the cylinder shape, because you're wasting your money. May be, creative mind doesn't think this...
I don't even throw the grocery bags in the garbage (unless it's ripped) because it's waste of material and avoid environmental issue. Hope you're not getting your resins free. Even if it's free, then you should not waste it.

i love it when the gouge finds that sweet spot and gets real quiet and shoots out a continuous band of shavings. that’s gotta be satisfying. i’d love to see you revisit this one day but just cast the cut and filled pieces sitting randomly in a container. i think you’d end up with some neat abstract shapes after shaping and rounding it.

I've never turned bamboo, but I find it kills edges on other tools pretty quickly! Apparently it has mineral granules that act like a grinding wheel .
Love the Mario sounds. I think you have as much fun crafting these videos as you do turning on the lathe!

I’m sure bamboo will have a high mineral value, it’s certainly very dulling on steal. It’s is grass and not wood so it’s got very different properties to wood. ( and some very similar of course)

Now that's what you call a drill bit 😁 .... Another fantastic piece ... personally I think I'd prefer either black or a very dark opaque colour for surrounding the bamboo, in that it would have made the lit parts stand out even more .... but still a beautiful result the way you have done it 👍
That’s a fine idea. My hope was that it pearl would be lit a little but as it turns out I think you are right. Darker would have been a nice approach

Oh I do love a good cake. I’m not a bad baker. Decorating is a different ball game though. It is very hard to do well. 😊👍🏻

@@JackMackWoodturning 4 almost one year old puppies eating me out of house and home. My Shepherd is 13, not sure how much time he has left. The puppies are lab/ border collie and English pointer.

That's a stunner......you're also the first turner I've seen who minimised the amount of resin to leave a big hole in the middle..!! Others fill it then spend half the video gauging it all out 🤣 Very efficient 👍👍👌

It was a bit of an emotional roller coaster this week...from the elation of finally seeing you wearing something other than that old, grey t-shirt you always do, to the misery having it reappear in the second half of the video.

@@JackMackWoodturning It's beautiful and green on the west side and dry and hot on the east side. Mountains in between. My wife and I like to paddle touring kayaks in the sound where we see eagles, ospreys, seals, sea lions, porpoises and dolphins. I have paddled a lot more than my wife and I have seen whales up close 6 times over the past 7 years. It's also full of crazy American people so you know, interesting.
That was a very cool video to watch. Awesome lamp!!!
