Avatar costumes for Yor and Loid will be available at the collaboration store in the Battle Hub! In addition, all players who log in during the collaboration period will receive special items like photo frames, stamps, and titles!
Yor and Loid's hairstyles have also been added to the avatar creation. You can use the following recipes to create both characters as seen in the trailer.

I think it would be a cool idea if they allowed us to put whatever item on whatever character. That way the avatar items don’t feel like such a disappointment, and the drought of character costumes wouldn’t be so bad now that you could make as many combinations as you want. Other games like Tekken still do this too and we could still have classic character costumes
getting to put Yor dress on Chun would be so good, i was kinda hoping for that even though I still felt like it would be avatar costumes like with ninja turtles

Or you can just make your avatar play as whichever character you want, same thing problem solved. You can even make your own brand new characters like the Ninja Turtles by mixing moves, or the Flying Burrito 🌯
People completely overlooking the avatar's brilliant systems astounds me, the flexibility it provides is far better than catering to one character over others, more people would be mad over the costume not going to their favorite.

That’s not possible. That’s just not how costumes work.
It works in Tekken because they’ve built them like that from the ground up, and even the it comes with tons of limitations from a game dev perspective.
You’re not gonna get it in SF6, as you’d literally have to make an extra model for every playable character for every piece of clothing you add (on top of all the ground work you’d need with both programming, rigging, modeling, etc to make modular costumes work on regular characters). And then you have all the new bug testing associated with this. Plus all of this work increases exponentially for every new character added to the game.
It’s simply not pragmatically feasible for a game that wasn’t planned around it from the start. Just pointing at another game and going “but they’re doing it!” is a fundamental misunderstanding of how game dev works.
Thanks for not failing to disappoint. That's just a simple skin that modders can do. If you can't make Yor as a full character, why even bother?

By the size of the hype, I was expecting something greater than an avatar skin.
I expected Yor herself join the game as a guest character or, at least, a skin for another character like Chun-Li, Cammy or even Juri, as in the video.

Avatar Content is WAY more deep and fun than the core game and it's characters. Those hating Avatar battles/content likely didnt finish/grind World Tour or not creative enough on their characters. Last time i checked, the community wants more Avatar content. YOU are the minority if you are asking for anything relating to the main roster.
The minority should be THANKFUL avatar content is actually funding your main roster costumes and additional characters.
Capcom, if you read this, CONTINUE TO GIVE US MORE AVATAR CONTENT. This is what the community wants.
Avatar content is funding what costumes? The one set that we have and for a minimum of $10? What's there to be grateful about? It's weird that SFV did perfectly fine giving lots of costumes to characters we actually play as, even for free. More avatar content? Almost ALL the content is avatar content.

The choreography legit takes more time to plan than the costume itself, some modder is probably going to make a Yor costume that looks far better.

I told ya’ll it was just a costume collab. The anime in the trailer was just a preview of what was to come. We got the match and it was a draw.

I don't think there's never been a guest character in a mainline game outside of the story continuity.
Only Akuma guested in Tekken, while Ryu and Ken went over to Smash Bros. I also think it was never the other way around for non-Capcom characters. I can’t remember a character who guested into SF.

I wouldn't mind the avatar skin as a bonus if every playable character could wear an outfit of either Yor, Loid, Anya and Bond. A really missed opportunity to have Zangief in an Anya costume.

I havent touched the game since September. Having the collab got me hyped in December. Realizing it’s just a skin and not the characters or a storyline. I swear MW3 had better skins that got me more hyped than this

This sucks. The teaser trailer was incredible and I was so excited for what it could be. This is such a disappointment, as it’s not what was promised.
