It is sad that "Tronxy 3D Printer" team doesn't understand english nor reply on comments. I just received this printer this week (Dec 2018). I'm trying to build it with the instruction PDF found in the provided USB key. Unfortunately, some parts have changed and the info in my USB key as well as in this video doesn't match with the parts I've received. I will figure out how to built it, but I will have to zip cut some screw to make them fit, buy some excentric nuts to make thing solid, drill new holes in metal parts, print brackets to get pulley aligned properly and few other things... Fortunately, I do have an ANET A6 to print stuff to make this new puppy alive... I guess at the end I will get a great printer for the money. BUT, it is a little bit sad that it is IMPOSSIBLE to make it work out of the box with all unmodified parts. Alex from Québec, Canada
Very clear and informative video for your X5S customers. One issue which should get your attention : several X5S owners (well, ALL of them so far) have stated the heated bed can NOT be heated to the said 100/110°C, but it maxes out at 50°C (61°C when insulated) even after 30 minutes of heating. That's of course way too weak to be usable and about half the value Tronxy states as maximum. Any ideas ?
Go buy something like a Tevo Tornado for less money, which includes an AC powered, insulated heatbed, that (based on a review) goes to 100°C in about 2 minutes. It also has a Titan (clone) Bowden setup. I was considering one of these, until a saw all the acrylic, cheap washer-based idle pulleys, and (it seems) only 6mm wide GT2 belts. For the length these belts run, they need to be 9 or 10mm wide ones. The claimed 330x330mm build area with a 300x300mm DC (I assume 12V) powered heatbed is a total compromise! And, how are you to adjust proper v-wheel pressure without eccentric spacers -- plastic spacers on v-wheels, sheesh! I was going to buy the more expensive, but seemingly far superior Flyingbear Tornado (all metal, linear rails, etc.), but ended up buying a Tevo Tornado. I presently have a CR-10, an FT-5, my own design, as well as Flashforge, and metal Makerbot clone. I guess I'm 3D printer poor!
Kris, I was going to cancel my Tevo order and buy the Flyingbear, but Tevo pulled a sneaky "shipped" status switch, and issued a phony tracking number -- getting them out of the 7 day package prep drop-dead-date. However, after filing a dispute through Aliexpress, Tevo actually shipped one out. I did get it in a brief $332.10 USD flash sale, which included free UPS shipping.
I know. They pulled that stunt on nearly all waiting customers, poducing a lot of totally bogus tracking numbers which can't fool a blind bat (as the numberstructure wasn't even an existing valid one, they were just random numbers), promising a free extruder as compensation and then "forgetting" to add them. :D That being said, I really hope everybody who bought and -eventually will get- a Tevo Tornado will have a great printer .... but it's not the right printer for me in its current state and specs, and the downright questionable sale strategy of Tevo .... lets just say certain stuff they seem to take for granted would put you in jail in western countries if you'd try to pull those off here.
It seems that a couple of recent un-boxing videos, Tevo did add the extra Titan clone. And, the printer does seem to be doing a good job. It also seems the printer costs are rising. I would not pay $399, or even $369 for that printer. The $332 price was, I think, worth it -- for me, maybe, though I do wish I could have cancelled out, and purchased the Flyingbear. However (come to think of it) I am converting my FT-5 to corexy -- so why bother.
True. At the current price point the Tevo Tornado is a non-product. In fact, due to the way it's shipped, it risks to be a lot more expensive than a CR10 is due to import taxes instead of "being about the same price". Which is exactly why I never went with the FT5 : the import/transport costs of this machine to Europe was prohibitivly expensive.
