    Will you ever do a video on Rise kickboxing or the fighters that fight there ? They’re severely underrated as a kickboxing promotion in my opinion. Or a video on the current K-1 promotion ?

    I honestly had Akimoto winning 2-1, in the first round he landed the cleaner shots and put the pressure againdt Rui, round 2 he just dominated with his pressure and damage overall and in round 3 Wei Rui definetly took over with the striking and then neutralized a bit of the pressure I honestly thought Akimoto got robbed in this fight but overall an amazing fight and both fighters did an absolutely fantastic job, awesome breakdown Gabriel, really felt like I have learned a lot!

      @EhAmes94 Місяць тому +3

      Yeah I had it pretty clearly 2-1 Aki, not like absolute daylight robbery, but definitely did not agree with the outcome.

    • @richardo2913
      @richardo2913 Місяць тому +4

      Absolutely wrong. Wei Rui won 3 rounds. Just take a closer look. Anytime when Akimoto tried to kick Wei Rui, Wei Rui moved closer to counter with a head punch. Akimoto's kick meant nothing when Rui moved closer. But the punches by Rui were real damages indeed. Akimoto just looks more aggressive, but winning a fight is not by showing aggressive. Akimoto's style is similar to Wang Junguang..They don't use their brain to fight, but they have enough energy to push forward all 3 rounds. But anyways, Akimor is no match to Wei Rui or Qiu Jianliang. Both those two fighters have much better fighting strategies than Akimoto.

    I think what's always fun to watch, super subtle, is the battle for outside control of that forward leg in southpaw vs. orthodox. You can see both of them actively trying to establish it, and it's just cool how many little mini-battles for position there are simultaneously at this level.

  • @danca5719
    @danca5719 Місяць тому +7

    Wei for the win. Wei landed more punches than Akimoto, even though Akimoto looks like putting more pressure on him. A lot of people don’t know that Wei was K-1 champion too. That just showed he is really skilled and not some random fighter to fight with.

    Kyoguchi of Former boxing champion and Akimot of Former One kickboxing champion's judge results are both disputing.
    In both games the hosts of the matches say Japanese narrowly won their games, mmm.
    For Akimoto's case, judges were trop favour of Wei Rui scoring him against Akimoto 30-27.

  • @richardo2913
    @richardo2913 Місяць тому +8

    Akimoto should have lost to Qiu Jianliang, too. But the judges gave it to Akimoto. But to be honest, Akimoto is no match to either Qiu Jianliang or Wei Rui. Rui obviously landed a lot more kicks and punches than Akimoto. Nothing wrong with the decision. People might think big moves like Akimoto will make more damages. That's wrong. If you watched Wei Rui's fights in the past, you will realize his moves are not big moves, but the real damages are real. He had lost of flights by kock out.

    • @Gongolongo
      @Gongolongo Місяць тому

      Yeah Akimoto shouldn't have won vs QJL but kickboxing rules don't score sweeps. Again here, I think it's the ruleset that sucks.

      It's Olivier Coste. If I were fighting from China, I'd never take a fight knowing he was referee. He gave Tang Kai a yellow card for inaction with his fight with Thanh Le, yet nothing was done about the constant clinching in the Wei Rui vs Akimoto fight.

    • @GollumsJealous
      @GollumsJealous 20 днів тому

      @@Gongolongo It's the ref too. QJL was doing well until Coste's two warnings (first was the leg grab) and second was the accidental back of head strike he did on Akimoto. That seriously disrupted his flow.
