I think it was impossible not to laugh whenever Paul Lynde was involved. He had such a unique comical character, he was also a very intelligent human being as well.
I remember Paul Lynde saying that his mother never cooked anything that was considered healthy. He said: "If it was green she'd cream it!" To say Paul Lynde was funny is a gross understatement. The man was hilarious!
I was privileged to see Paul Lynde in an act opening for a theater production of the Odd Couple with all the original cast in Pennsylvania back in the mid-70s. Always loved him! Thanks for uploading!
Pat Carroll is the only one of them who's still living. I really miss Paul Lynde. He was absolutely one-of-a-kind. Everyone cites his appearances on "Hollywood Squares", but he was also hysterically funny on both "Bewitched" and on his very own series (which can be viewed on UA-cam--why they din't renew it is beyond me). When he and Agnes Moorhead went at it as Uncle Arthur vs. Endora... well, it doesn't get much better than that! LOL

I noticed when Paul was announced, everyone on the panel applauded politely. I wondered who the person on the end was who rudely didn't even look up or acknowledge Paul's entrance. I wasn't the least bit surprised when I saw that it was Henry Morgan, probably one of the most miserable TV personalities of the 1960s and 70s. At the end when Paul's accomplishment was mentioned, everyone again applauded on the panel, but Morgan just stared seemingly uninterested. Henry Morgan was despicable and rude.

I grew up in this era as a bit of a chubby kid. If the other kids made fun of me, I usually laughed it off, even though inside I was fuming! It would only motivate me to get more exercise, or not have that bowl of cereal in the middle of the night. I was a horrible eater. My Mother was a fantastic cook, but I preferred to eat pb&j sandwiches, cookies and cereal! He really is right and implies that good and healthy eating should be something you are doing so it's not a shock when you go off it. These days, this would be considered fat shaming. Which for me, and in my time, was actually a good thing.
Those were the best times. As time moved on into the early 1980s, we lost so much of our freedoms. I never remember worrying about money, and I could always find a job or some way to make money. We also were not at each other's throats the way people are now, and we were friends with everyone, not just people that "looked like us."

his later years....he died when he was 55...being gay back then was probably the hardest thing you ever had to do in the society that he lived....he was intelligent and clearly before his time so his experiences with people must have been either horrible or just plain boring....sad he should have lived now...he would have enjoyed himself....love you Paul.....rip sweet boy
Sandra Lee well he was a nasty person when he drank even some of his best friends said so but cant say he wasn't a genius..maybe his rage came from him being gay in those times and he certainly coins the term queen..so it was hard for him to be who he truly was...they would put him in sitcoms as father and married which was kind of ironic..nonetheless he will always stand out as a comic genius and revisited by many thru his genius

Pat Carroll passed away in 2022 at age 95. She was a funny and fantastic television and Broadway actress.
This show was based on What's My Line and Steve Allen was on the panel. Paul Lynde was an amazing comedian. Truly ahead of his time. RIP

Gary Moore was the host of I've Got A Secret in the 50's and then Steve Allen hosted it. Then Steve took it over in the 70's.

I saw him in a bar in Madrid Spain back in the 70's , he was drunk and was very annoyed and a bit obnoxious that only a few people knew who he was.
