Not sure on what basis ETAC has recommended this 2027 deadline. 2035-2040 would have been a more achievable timeline. Rather than banning diesel vehicles, they must focus on pushing automakers towards plug-in hybrids. Vikasji thanks for covering this topic. Yours is the first video on this topic where everybody has a question in their mind as to what will happen in future
For EV, electricity is required and in India most of the electricity generation comes from coal based thermal power stations . For more electricity more burning of coal which will create more pollution, how this issue will be resolved ???
0:07 shocking and sad news 😔 I really like Diesel engines... There is very few (car) options in Diesel engine Ev cars still not suitable for India rn, lot of problems coming in ev cars... Need more time.
With petrol 2 wheelers I am pretty confident anything under 500cc will be EV only. But above 500cc motorcycles will never be banned completely as its impossible to make an EV 2 wheeler to go 250+ kms on a single charge, so long distance touring machines will still prevail with some city driving restrictions and flex fuel. The use of E85 will be pretty common on all petrol ICE engines which in 2023 is a supercar specific tech. All of this will not happen if Porsche succeeds with its already successful carbon neutral Synthetic fuel(petrol) which as of now is only hampered by cost and mass production issues, but it is readily available and working perfectly as an alternative to petrol.
They should ban diesel . Its fine.. but why not provide tax concession for hybrid vehicles so that more hybrid cars are sold..!! Just banning things won't help
Vehicle pollution can only be controlled or reduced if mass transportation systemss like - Local trains, Metro trains , Trams , Luxury City buses etc. are aggresively implemented and started. People should not feel like using their private 2W,4W for city commute. If diesel is so bad better all buses, trucks, other commercial vehicles are first deregistered and replaced by battery vehicles. Strong Hybrid Self charging vehicles are better options in today's situation
Govt needs to lower gst on hybrid cars, even better give subsidies so that we are encouraged towards going in that direction. Most of the brands in India have their electric vision mapped out going forward. But as of now, evs are too expensive for any buyer out there. Maybe 7-8 years down the line, they won't. That's why instead of giving subsidies on evs, govt should give subsidies or tax relaxation on hybrid vehicles and prepare electric infrastructure in the countries along with private players for future.
Tata and Mahindra won't let government promote hybrids. They just want to offload their crappy diesel and petrol engines on Indians till they are ready for EV transition.
Govt. strategy to not depend on middle east countries for oil imports. In the future, middle class family of owning a car will again become a dream. Thanks to Modiji.
Let them first make batteries without using any diesel at any stage in the battery production process. It took about 50+ years to get where we are in petro and diesel today. It cant be replaced in handful number of years

its a good initiative for sure but the government should not try to force it onto the people .diesel and petrol have cars are a industry on its own they should not try and kill that if the try to it will have very bad consequences on our own economy. If they dont want us to drive diesel cars they better come up with better policies for hybrid because hybrid technology has also proven itself more than electric technology. instead of shoving down electric vehicles they can come up with better policies for afforestation and stricter policies for deforestaiton if they want carbon neutrality

Govt. delayed the net zero target in international platform but accelerating EV push before it's cooked well. This will induce trust issues in long run with EV when people will use unfinished hit and miss EVs.
All the people commenting in support of diesel, understand this: diesel is 40 times more polluting than petrol. It's one of the leading cause of toxic emissions and carcinogens (cancer causing agents) and destroys your respiratory system. Also it causes nausea and headache and intensifies motion sickness. It's not about carbon or CO2 emissions. And don't worry about "oh what about source of the electricity ? It's still coal for most part!" Once the hybrid and electric system is in place as a crucial component, electric generation is steadily and decisively moving towards green sources. Remember green doesn't just mean low CO2, it also means low toxins, low pollution and lower cancer rates
No one can ban diesel. More than 20% Indian goods train engines run on diesel. We have established trucking businesses which needs diesel. How can anyone stop diesel sale. Folks in so called committee are so self absorbed in themselves , they seldom know what is happening in outside world. EV still has another 15-20 years to develop
The point here is :- if the Govt bans diesel engines in India does it will help in reducing pollution? 1. What is the figure or the percentage of pollution which is contributed by diesel engines in recent years the number has already declined as most of the OEMs are not making diesel cars. 2. If we talk about CNG I guess it came in the year 2000 or early 2001 but still there are a huge number of lines in the Pumps. Govt did not increase the actual number of pumps for the CNG. 3. Who said EVs will reduce pollution. My question what process govt taking the recycled EV batteries and is the process environmentally friendly. 4. We see every year and it has been 10 years or more where we see pollution has increased in the Sep, oct, nov because of parali. Still, the problem exists and that could not handle but 2 states and a central Govt Saala India mei koi bhi kuch bhi report bana deta hai without giving results to the people.
Such Confused and changing policies harass the common man. Any planned thought process for electric grid failures ? Fuels and hybrids are also required because systemic redundancy is Absent in EVs
This is unrealistic timeline. If diesel is stopped, sudden increase of petrol will lead to increase of petrol prices due to higher consumption. Petrol will start retailing at 300Rs/litre.
Ethanol addition in petrol is only going reduce the mileage of petrol cars along with power output. As far as diesel cars are concerned, unless and until companies are making diesel cars you don’t have to worry about buying them. If you have budget buy one go for diesel cars.
70 percent of electricity is produced by burning coal, our main focus should be how we can generate electricity by solar energy. Govt should not take any strict action they should Target mid term goals to make the country free from carbon foot prints
Carbondioxide se koi parishani nehi hai sirf jada se jada afforestation ( perr lagana chahiye) jisse trees 🌲🌳🌴 carbondioxide ko use kar lenge photosynthesis ke dwaran
Looking at how rashly the decisions are made and executed now, I'd not buy any fuel car recommended. Just hold on to what I have, buy used if required, and only wait for a good electric car. No petrol, diesel, cng, hydrogen, hybrid. I don't know how the transport sector would survive these decisions.
Why scrap CNG cars when they do not cause pollution? Life of car engine is 1,50,000 Kms to 3,50,000 Kms. This should be the deciding factor for scrapping not just 15 years even when life of engine is not over.

4. We see every year and it has been 10 years or more where we see pollution has increased in the Sep, oct, nov because of parali. Still, the problem exists and that could not handle but 2 states and a central Govt
Saala India mei koi bhi kuch bhi report bana deta hai without giving results to the people.
Only 1 who has driven a good diesel will forever be a Dieselholic
We also cant ignore the economic aspect as by importing lithium a large chunk of gdp will be sent to china
Good Initiative from Govt.
Ethanol addition in petrol is only going reduce the mileage of petrol cars along with power output. As far as diesel cars are concerned, unless and until companies are making diesel cars you don’t have to worry about buying them. If you have budget buy one go for diesel cars.
This was only report submitted but no decisions have been taken on diesel by government till date
Very informative video👍👍
Bhaiya near future mein toh diesel chodana hi padega. As one of the main cause of pollution is diesel.
Play at 1.5x thank me later😑
Yaar yeh channel bohot he underrated hai..
70 percent of electricity is produced by burning coal, our main focus should be how we can generate electricity by solar energy.
Govt should not take any strict action they should Target mid term goals to make the country free from carbon foot prints
I still see bs3 buses running in the country. Why the government doesn't ban these old trucks and buses first?
Planning to buy 2011 Toyota fortuner what are your suggestions
Man I'm Going to get my delivery of Scorpio n top model (diesel) in upcoming days. And now I'm worried about my 25+ lakhs. Wtf is this?!!
Change the government....
Yogi bhai love your presentation. The best
aisa mene suna he jitna diesel engine pollution krta he utna ek lithium battery making process me hi kr chuki hoti he
