The beauty of futuristic movies from the 80s and 90s is that they had the hubris to assume that their contemporary level of tech would still be THE dominant form of tech, even after decades or centuries of scientific progress. They have retinal scanners, but the displays are CRT monitors, because nothing will ever top CRT monitors. They have futuristic space age clothing, but in a 90s fashion style, because nothing will ever top 90s fashion. They had everything figured out at their technological pinnacle, and technology thereafter was just progressively more complex iterations of that pinnacle. It's like how the OS Star Trek had analog tape reels on the Enterprise, it's kind of charming how they thought that 400 years later we still couldn't top magnetic analog tape.
For that time it was. Remember when the light glows drawn over the characters in Tron was something not seen before and Total Recall effects scenes? Even the hand made special effects and makeup effects in The Thing were considered A+ . Everything had a peak for its time in one form or another in cinematography. Looking at it today, it's not so great, except The Thing. That's still top notch kick ass shit.

She really went off 🤣
That is Brion James, and he was in the Fifth Element, Blade Runner, 48 Hours, Another 48 Hours, and a ton of classically bad 80's and 90's movies.
The 90s virtual reality hype ws huuuuge , nowadays the V.R. is affordable and none gives a fuse
Exactly!
Just discovered this channel today! This is awesome i love bad movies.
Great video, looking forward to more! Whatever color correction you had on the footage of you guys makes the design of Brian and Seagal on Jason's shirt look like Simpson's characters haha. Maybe its Sifu's jaundice or something, and Brian took after him.
Brian is always jaundiced.
"Bette Middler?"
I nearly spit my drink.
"Curly red hair?"
Now you have me imagining Carol Burnett in that role.
Im pretty sure she meant to say Susan Sarandon.
I have no idea who she meant.
@@JasonBrant well, the good news is, neither does she!
When she starts crying at the mention of Quantum Leap...how do you not instantly respond with..."Oh boy"?
Shit! I totally dropped the ball on that one.
@@JasonBrant also slim shady was one of the bad guys in Rumble In The Bronx
I recognized the guy on the left immediately from the 5th element as that general who got shoved into Bruce Willis’s fridge
Love Brion, but I couldn't think of his name. To my shame.
@@JasonBrant The only reason I remember him is because he looks exactly like my uncle.
Happy birthday dude, love this channel
First radiation was the macguffin. Then it was computer viruses. These days it's nanotech. What next? 😂
AI?
Damn it! Another channel to binge watch. Thanks guys...
Happy Birthday!
Brion James!
Bewbs!
Jabroni!
You guys really have fun!
We do! Thanks!
I'm totally going to use "may I interject" and then walk off when I want to end a situation.
830am in Alaska, coffee and dabs ready to go, LET'S DO THIS!!!! Man, I look forward to waking up on Sunday morning!
🤣 Hope you dig it.
Did you guys notice that the handgun used by the main bad guy is the same exact style gun from time cop. It just sliver not black
You guys have become part of my Sunday routine, 9 am I come to, take the belt off my neck , try to find some clothes and fight my way out of the animal shelter, try and get home to watch your channel before work at the daycare center❤️
To me he will always be Leon from Blade Runner.
"What's a tortoise?"
"Wake up. Time to die."
The main villain here, was the replicant in the beginning of "Blade Runner" (not "2049") who shot the guy (or shrink) in the chair, with the gun that had the 4 barrels.
My mother? Let me tell you about my mother
That blonde dude is Brion James, he’s been in a ton of stuff, Blade Runner, The Fifth Element, 48 Hours, and even Roots.
@13:49 thats the gun from Van Damages Time Cop movie lol , looks like someone just gave these guys the keys to a prop storage room and said go nuts
🤣 That's really what the movie felt like.
The second blond dude was a bad actor in Rumble in the Bronx. "Batter up!!" :) Love your videos! To get drunk with you while watching movies would be a classic.
You guys ( and girls) are living the dream. Been watching your channel for about a year now and loved the progress you have made. Seen one of the seagal reviews has passed million views and you deserve all the focus 👍🏻 still love watching your videos with beers, it’s like watching with friends. Congratulations with all the new viewers and I’m gonna try my best to send you a new movie to view, even though it may take a few weeks to get to you from the UK. The tattoo sleeve is looking great Erin and all the custom r shirts you get sent are awesome 👍🏻thank you again for all the great content, I’ve moved to a new area in the last year and watching your videos really feels like watching movies with friends. Thank you again 👍🏻😂
"hittin him with the norton?" was a great line dude
Hey, I only saw the end of Quantum Leap once as a kid, and it's haunted me ever since. Very sad. Cry away I say!
It's brutal.
