    We added Sumo Springs to our Fleetwood Bounder 36E and it made a world of difference in the way it handled. Would Recommend them to anyone with the F53.

    I threw a pair on the rear of my '04 HR Traveler just because they were a quick and easy to see if the rear springs were the real issue. The prior owner had thrown everything possible at the P32 it was built on and it still drove so bad his wife made him sell it, refusing to ever ride in it again. Well, they improved the handling enough to see what was really needed was rear springs. I had heavier new main leaves installed and re-arched the others, now it finally drives as it should. I see Sumos as something you would use on a pickup that *occasionally* carries enough weight so make it squat but definitely not as an every-day cure.

    Very good video.
    We own a class A Winnebago on an F53, 18K chassis. Purchased the coach new 20 months ago. Took a 5000 mile cross country trip and hated the suspension. We added Koni shocks, it helped, then Safe-T-Plus, and it helped, then the rear track bar ( it helped sway when trucks pass us). But adding the Sumo Springs really smoothed things out. It will never ride like a diesel pusher, but the suspension upgrades were definitely worth it. 20,000 miles now with all the upgrades and we don’t mind those bad interstate roads so much.
    Thank you for your video.

    Why are you doing a video on springs on an F53 chassis, but you flash a picture of a coach with a tag axle at the beginning of the video. Is there something I'm missing. Some super F-53 that I have never heard of perhaps.

    So great video. Not sure if paid or not. Folks, we have paid for all our shocks, sumo springs and air bags our whole life and never paid to have them we paid our own cash every time. Sumo Springs are a must for the fronts, enough said. Sumo springs in the rear are for folks not really towing or pulling weight, (small toad would be fine). Air bags are just. Hands down the way to go, we recommend Pack Brake Bags. Also always pick your favorite steering shock any one you pick will be a HUGE upgrade to the junk stock one. And for Shocks Koni is number one. $$$$$$$, Bilstiens are number 2 but still great. Folks at min. When you have to start basic, we recommend all 4 shocks (Koni), All 4 (Sumo Springs), and (Steering stabilizer shock). Around $2800.00 if you do the work yourself. God Bless and many happy safe miles. USMC/USAF Ret.

      @@davidreaves9231 So, after buying way too many on various trucks through the years. We found that once you get into double axels on anything. Air is just how you end up in the end and opens more doors as well. We love sumo, there just a time and place for them on the rear. PaKBrake is so affordable, it just takes out all the questions and hope so’s…..

    One correction - the washers on the J brackets are supposed to be placed between the base plate and the J brackets, not between the bracket and the nut. I just did this install on my 26K Tiffin. ;-)

    How much should someone with a 26k F53 class A expect to pay for front and rear Sumos (including installation)? Ballpark is fine...

    Did you do a video of your rear install I have the front, but I haven't installed them yet because the motorhome is at the dealership and when I get the MH back, I will have to buy the one for the rear but thank you for the video? I did install the Safe-T-Plus and the Rear Trac-Bar and Koni's shock and it ride so much better, so after I install the Sumo Springs it should ride extra smooth.

      @AsherRV  Рік тому

      Yes sir I do have the rear footage and I'll get it together ASAP. I actually had it most of the way edited and lost the entire video lol. But I will be sure to get that going for you. If you haven't hit that subscribe and Bell icon and you will be notified when I do, but on top of that I'll mention you in the comments to make sure you see it
      That's great that the shocks and the stabilizer made an improvement. I would imagine a factory shock on any gas Coach has room for improvement,so smart moving going there first.

      Wrong. Yellow are the most heavy duty ones, then black, then blue.
      Yellow = 2800 lbs at 50% compression
      Black = 1500 lbs at 50% compression
      Blue = 1000 lbs at 50% compression
