I would really like to know the answer to this. You play a lot more than I do. However, I see when you pick an item and then it is revealed where the big one was you are upset you just missed it. It is my hypothesis that if it's not ready to hit, they move the big target from anywhere you didn't select. So although I get upset I don't get big target, I never say "oh I just missed it" because see, i was never going to be given it in the first place.
