Adding CIC and BUILD DATE to VO on both CAS and FRM / NFRM
Default coding CIC to car, enabling all supported options.
Created this video due to the lack of information regarding the coding. Hope this helps someone who understands the basics of what needs to be done, but keeps finding conflicting posts!!!
UPDATE!! Car has been into BMW for unrelated warranty work and they did not even mention the CIC retrofit. I would still remove if coding / electrical work needs to be done, and your dealer may not be so forgiving! Take in to BMW at your own risk; I was just lazy!
Hello, I had the CIC installed by a person a while ago, but now he has a red unit on via ista (mask & CIC). Now I want to undo it and put my old screen back in. My production date is 1-12-2007, which is also in the FO/VO, but I still don't see a mask. Does anyone know how this is possible?

For coding headunit F10 which option should i select?
after this step by step my CiC DVD player gives error as unreadable DVD. it used to work after the retrofit, but now it does not work anymore. I can no longer activate Navi. so this step by step guide does not work.

Are #0909 and $6VA codes written to NCS Expert during coding valid for all cic? because i know there are two models cic mid and cic pro
you just use $606 (business navi) instead of $609 (proffesional navi) with the #0909 and $6VA if you have a CIC MID
hey so this is the coding for a complete retrofit for a car that didn't have cic i-drive to begin with? I want to retrofit drive to my car, i know the plug on the radio is the same so if i plug in the cic unit along with the screen and everything and do this coding, it would work?
Someone told me i would need a esc bypass module? what is that for exactly?
Is it possible to fool ncsexper by not changing the build date actually. Can I see CIC over there if I only delete old build date and add the new one then read CAS (w/o FA write for build date)
The 2nd option: Can I back to factory build date after all coding? Is it possible? Will all settings work then?
Hi thanks for the awesome videos, iv e just replaced my e60 motherboard with one from an e90 lci that had pre set buttons when i try it with my faceplate it doesnt work but works perfect with the e90 faceplate.
Do you know if theres a way to code my faceplate to the motherboard pls
If you will do what he did your navi will not work. It's much more to do a complete coding.

Thanks. I spent ages researching how to do this, but once you have done it - it is very simple! Lots of bits of info missing, so that's why I made the video.

Hi Alexqts. I have a e87 bmw 130ia with 606 Navigation System Business. BUT previous owner of my car upgrade to 609 Professional Navigation. ( Yes is better - Luck Mine) >
But my navegation maps is 2012 and if i try to find upgrade with my VIN car i cant find.
So where i can find the CIC head UNit code???

Also my old headunit has 4 pin lvds connector,new one is of 6 pin. I inserted the 4 pin wire in 6 pin connector. I heard the rest two pin is for voltage supply and isnt important so can i still use the same headunit to code and program as the new headunit keeps restarting. Why does it keep restarting? Do i have to code it properly?
I did all the steps, but when I looked back again FRM has disappeard because of the codes, how can I get back FRM extension? Thank you
Hello alex , so for example on my e46 2002 i want to have BFD active but since my LSZ module does not have that option available it's C32 and i need .C36 i wan;t to retrofit a newer model of LSZ like a 2005 one, so i do exactly how you did right ? and do i have to add 2005 build date to the VO and update both modules that contain VO/FA because the newer LSZ module comes from a 2005 car ? . And why did you changed back your build date and erased the option you added ? . Thanx

Hello, I installed cic in my BMW e89 z4 2010, but the idrive does not work. Only the radio and the cd work, but the display does not communicate with the idrive. what to do?
E63 6er here, I had to choose 'LMA' the second time around, and that worked just fine. This is probably the normal process for 5/6 series. Thanks!
Strangely enough my iDrive controller (CCC) isn't behaving though, it's either top or bottom. Any clue?

hi, my car is 2006 E60 M5. Is the coding procedure the same as yours? Also code the CAS and NFRM only is ok? How about FRM?
Yes, I would imagine that the coding is roughly the same. You will either have NFRM or FRM as far as I am aware. (NFRM is new FRM) and CAS with NFRM / FRM is fine for E9X so should be good for you also.
Hi my e93 dash was empty just the radio system I've retrofitted a dash and the CIC system, everything is working plug and play but CIC is not coded to my car and not added to the vehicle order, I've added #0909 and #6VA in the vehicle order and coded the cas and frm FA write. The #6VA is showing in the vehicle order list but the #0909 keeps disappearing I've tried recoding that into the vehicle order after the code when I check again it's disappeared. I've seen you deleting the #0607 from your VO list, but the #0607 is not on my VO list at all, so I don't know which VO I need to delete I had the factory radio CD player no screen at all
Jushed Ahmed Hi mate it’s been a while since i’ve done this but 0607 was my build month and build year. So yours will be the numbers for your build date. Hope that helps. A

I have only CAS and LMA *e60 2006. No FRM ot NFRM ecu !!!!I I coded only CAS and in the end CIC but no Navigation active. Should I code LMA too ?
Yeah e60 you code it to cas and lma. Nfrm is only for 3 series
For coding the e60 2004 need choise the FA (chassis) E60 or i select the E89?

Hey, there I'm having some trouble with the second step in the FA_WRITE procedure. Whenever I try to perform the coding onto my NFRM module I get: "COAPI-1063: CABD-paramter error FA_WRITE". What should I do?

I think I did this by using the following:
You can pull the vin using Tools 32. Load profile 00SWTKWP, and than the job FAHRGESTELLNUMMER_Lessen
The vin from the CIC is than displayed under FG_RN
might want to check it first though!!

Hello, thanks for your very useful video, my E61 535xi came with CCC and I recently acquired a CIC headunit from a 2010 E60 535xi. Upon comparing the options between both cars, both have Professional navi, Voice control, HD and Satelite radio and everything else are the same. ONLY difference, mine has Logic7 vs Standard Hifi system. I am quite sure that this is easy to code to, but how about the Navi and Voice control? Any advice please?
Did you ever find out if it’s possible or does it make a difference?
