BEST DIY CIC Retrofit guide on the World! Thank You so much for you video! ❤
This is the best DIY retrofit video i see so far you showed everything the most important how to Code thanks a lot mate 👌
you’re the goat for this video.
This video was great! So I was able to unlock the audio back into the car! Long story short my cic stopped working and new cic after install won't start audio or navigation . I got the audio back but navigation still dead
i`m gonna try this tomorrow. hope it works. cic works already with the combox but need to activate the navigation. was about to get an emulator but your DIY looks really good and easy to do,
Thanks, you don't need an emulator if your car has navigation from factory.
@@bmwdiy it keeps giving me an error when I try to store fscs cert. Any idea what I may have done wrong? Everything else worked, got the red screen and it started right back up.
Thanks for all the info man I just downloaded all the software I just need to hit up that junk yard again come up on the head unit display and hopefully the original cables that way I won’t have to order any
Yes please do a combox retrofit. I’m confused on what wiring is needed. I know there’s a kit for the mulf/tcu but I’m not sure if fakra cables are still needed for the other side of the combox (the connectors that are color coded).

Hello i am done with the cic retrofit and followt your steps evrything is working thanks for the detailed video exept the voice control button
Just did this to my car! It was awesome!
Great Video! Thank you! I just got the sound to work so far. Still working on the Navi
Haw you got it
I have the same problem sound not working
Can you tell me which code you add exactly
Thanks
Nice video! Can someone still help me please?
When im changing the attributes with ncs expert and the cic restarts, it still got the same values...tried with all profiles and new made profile with correct setting
Just pulled basically all the parts at a u pull it. The pink cable was easier but the glove box usb one was a but of a hassle. I cut the other cable to the screen and will repin it to mine $116 total 👌
Update got it all in and it works!! Audio works from the radio and previous owners music plays but aux in armrest doesn’t. Im assuming its a coding thing cus I havent done anything yet with that
You’re the man!! This guide is awesome!
Excellent as always 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Will be the coding options same, for non Idrive to CIC Idrive retrofit?
крассссавчег, прям прожевал все как положено, кучу времени мне сэкономил. благодарствую
Hello i have done it but if i go read my car out with ista+ then it still shows mask as red and cic as red
Love the chanel
Keep the vids coming 👍🏻
i have the orginal oem fsc codes how to load that? same steps as this here?
Awesome videos. Thank you for all the infos. Can you explain exactly how you activated the Navigation? Also do you know how I can program an FSC code for the satellite radio?
Great stuff, Would the coding be the same for an e60 CIC retrofit?
Yes
Everything was working fine i did everything you did
I was able to chose the navi Menü and it worked until i did the Patch i connect it and the screen turn Red like you sayed but after i m not able to chose navi its grey Do you have any idea?
Follow the rest of the instructions. Screen turned red is a very good sign. You are almost there, but there are still more steps to do.
Finally did it bro i had Problem with fsc 😅
Thanks a lot
Next project is the combox 🚀🔥🔥
Excellent DIY. Can we expect a Combox installl and coding video too soon?
ua-cam.com/video/_8UcuiXDoro/v-deo.html
Please tell me this should work on E60? Great video by the way!
Man I have tried to get the option codes to stay in the CAS but everytime I check back it is back to the original default codes. Not sure why but it just is. Thanks for the great video however. I have definitely benefitted from your work here.
How to know What you need to.manuplation? + wich date you need to set ?
I just did this to my E92, Thank you ! Everything works great 👍
Can i do codding with bimmercode please ?
??
What was the base that u have? CCC Business?
I had the CCC professional before the upgrade. In North America there was only one version of CCC on E90. If you did not have navigation option then there was no Idrive.
Hello, I’m from Vancouver as Well planning to do the retrofit on my 645ci
How did you update your CIC?
In 22:13 you see you have C08 but you say you need C1A, something is wrong?
@@DevCommandYT when you click execute job it will show exactly what version your CIC has
@@bmwdiy Do I absolutely need C1A? If so, how can I update it without ICOM?
Hi, great video. Do you know how I can get the aux to work on my car. I have done non i drive to cic conversion on a 2007 e92 but now the aux doesn’t work. Thanks
hey @bmwdiy, first of all thank you for the detialed video. It made the process of changing out my CCC HU to CIC so much simpler. I had a question as I am still struggling to make my navigation work. the FSC codes seem to have been accepted using the SWT patcher. The issue I am having is that when I click on navigation the message "starting navigation system displays and it just gets stuck on this screen. I am yet to update the maps and enter the code from the FSC generator as the system does not get past the loading screen. Any ideas or a solution as to what i might be doing wrong? thank you in advance
Great video!!! What's the part numbers fir screen and unit please?
You can see the part number for the CIC unit at 1:14, there are various part numbers for this. The one I got has the part number 6512 9239214. The "6512" is in the bottom left corner of the sticker. Just type in "e90 CIC head unit" in ebay and look for the one with the latest build date you can find. The build date is right above the the part number and is displayed as week/year so 32/10 for example would be the 32nd week of 2010. As for the screen, the one I got has the part number 65829193745. This is the best version of the screen since it has the clear plastic protective shield which only came on 2009 or 2010 model years.
Thank you. Just been looking on ebay and some e90 cic units are thinner then the others. Any idea why?
Looks like I'm a little late to the party. BMW standard tools are nolonger on bimmergeeks. Any alternatives anywhere please 🙏🏼
They work for f10 cic? I want to retrofit small CIC
Can you explain exactly which code responsible for the sound or you just you change your build date
You change the build date in order to access the CIC module since the earliest model year for E9x cars with CIC was 2009. Then you have to code the CIC to your VIN which has your option list including the option code for your car's sound system option. If you don't have sound right away, it is because the car the CIC came from had a different sound system option than yours. In my case the CIC came from a car with no Logic 7 and my E93 has Logic 7. No big deal. Just follow the steps in the video at 20:20. Once you read your car's VIN, it will show you a list of all the options your car has. The option code for Logic 7 is $677 if your car has that, but you are going to want more than just sound. Bluetooth, PDC, DVD video playback, etc.
In my case the car E64 is choose E60 and i add #0909 and $6VA
But still no sound
Maybe i can know which code should i put in my case the car 10/2006 but we fix cic from 2008 i think
Any help?
@@mechatronicha5291 Did you follow the steps? Were you able to select the CIC and click execute job on SG_Codeiren? Did it say coding active then coding ended? Did the CIC restart itself?
Yes i did and the cic restart but still no sound
This car have after market kombi not original

Hi thanks for the awesome videos, iv e just replaced my e60 motherboard with one from an e90 lci that had pre set buttons when i try it with my faceplate it doesnt work but works perfect with the e90 faceplate.
Do you know if theres a way to code my faceplate to the motherboard pls
@BMW DIY This was an amazing walkthru of the cic process, I have a 2010 e90 with the cic iDrive system (non combox aswell) it went to the body shop for a couple weeks and when I got it back from them my iDrive system is stuck constantly rebooting itself after a couple minutes of operating, I’ve been doing some research and reading forums of people with the exact same or very similar issue and alot of it points to having to replace the cic + recoding the new installed cic to my vin. This was by far the best video I seen on UA-cam describing the process A-Z but I have a couple of questions in regards to this process if I were to tackle this job on my own comfortably, is there any way possible to contacts you via any form of social media or email for a couple brief questions, that’d be extremely appreciated. Extremely impressed with your coding skills man you could be making money from this from what I just watched, great job brother. Best regards!

Does anyone know what version or NCS-Expert? The Bimmergeeks link doesn’t work, and I don’t have a computer that’ll run the older programs. I’m having trouble coding. Have everything installed just need coded. Anyone do remote coding?
Hey ! I don't have the same as you, I don't have the choice of cic, there is CAS, CGATE, CTUNE..... I got this cic on an e90 and I have an e92. I would just like to at least be able to code to have the speakers working, and the gong.... If you can help me that would be great of you!
Wao What a great video and great content really, I have a bmw E60 , i have done the retrofit and i really need assistance with coding, i don't need navigation since it doesn't work but can you please help me get it coded since the tpms of my prelci 525d isn't recognized
I followed all your steps I input my 7 digits from my vin it keeps giving me error
Very helpful. But you can tell what generation he his from because he calls it a hashtag when it is the pound symbol.
old ass
Are you in LA
So the CCC control knob works with the new CIC unit?
Yes, and I actually prefer the CCC control knob for the E93 since it’s much more durable. I met someone with an LCI 2011 E93 that had the CIC controller, he left the top down in the rain and the controller was fried. $400 for a new one. Also if you have the top down in the hot sun it might cause the paint on the CIC controller buttons to easily peel and fade.
@@bmwdiy good to know man , thanks! I have an E91 so only gotta worry about leaving the sunroof open. I was also planning on getting another center trim to fit the new controller but now I know I don’t have to!
Hi i have problems with this USB cable and when i look at this you have linked it only says it fits X5,X6 how can that be? Yesterday i looked and it fitted from E6x to E9x and for newer models aswell?
Is it possible you could send some part Numbers from your cable? Because i have spend a lot of money now for cables and usb connectors but it just keeps frying them..
Hi i have a cic that is already toast so i got a new CIC unit. What cable should i use to code my new cic unit?
I have an issue with Tool32 to get my CIC Mid to match the VIN of my car. For CIC Business the .PRG are CICMR. For CICMR_GW and CICMR_SD the „aif_schreiben“ worked. But when trying to do „aif_schreiben“ I get „error_ecu_service_not_supported“ as a response and the VIN is not written. Do you have any idea why?
When you do the coding for a different car like and e60 or e70 would you still pick e89 or would you pick the one for your respective vehicle
Pick the one for your respective vehicle
How can I call you? wish to discuss the installation project I want to do in my E60 located in Brazil.
Quick question. Do I need to match some sort of vin number from the unit box to one I’m looking for on eBay? Or doesn’t really matter? I’ve seen a few CIC units on eBay but not sure if I need to look further into them to make sure it fits.
@@andrescervantes4348 Just type in “e90 CIC head unit” or the part number I have in the description in ebay. Any CIC unit from any e90, e91, e92, e93 from 2009-2013 should work. They are interchangeable. Try to look for the latest build date so you are more likely to find one with the latest C1A software update so you should have no issue coding the navigation. You can see the build date right above the part number. For example the build for this one below is 25/09 which means the 25th week of 2009.

After changing the build date and add $6VA, I still don't get the option fir CIC in the ECU list?

Hello. Recently changed the business to CIC mid. I connected everything correctly, but when I connect everything together, I get the impression that the CAN is going crazy, if I turn off the joystick, for example, then everything is fine, or if I turn off the display, then everything is also normal. What is happening with their CAN. Periodically, it goes out completely, and a critical error in the central electronics knocks out. Will your coding work for me on CIC mid and will the coding solve my problem? Thanks in advance for your reply
Did you use the ccc controller or upgrade to the cic?
Got one today from a local junk yard 50$
My NCS expert is not letting me do what your doing is there a reason for this?
I just got a CIC headunit and screen, is it really necessary to get the USB connector for it to work?
You need the USB port in the glovebox to be able to activate the Navigation feature using the process that I outline and to update it to the latest maps. You also need it if you want to upload mp3 music files to the hard drive.

I've been looking for a tutorial like this for a long time - thank you my brother. Very well put together - i have no idea how you even worked this out, you obviously have a good understanding of the software.
One question - i have purchased custom FSC codes from Mak Coding for my CIC with my VIN coded to them, it is the retrofit pack which activates Navigation, unlocks voice control and enables apps for combox (which i dont yet have).
Do i programme these codes via FSTool?

I own an e93 and after seriously want to retro fit CIC I drive to my car. How have you installed the CIC controller onto this system as I cannot find a centre console for the CIC controller with the roof control?
I actually prefer the CCC controller for the e93 since it is much more durable. The paint on the buttons can peel very easily on the CIC controller especially if you have it parked with the top down in the sun
@@bmwdiy thank you for your reply, so does the CCC controller work perfectly fine with the CIC I drive system?
Yes

Hello. Can I do the same in e60?
May I Know how to activate the voice control ? And My E93 M3 Already is CIC system but without the bluetooth option. Can you tell me how to add it to my car ? Also where to find the map
Thanks
Do you have the voice control button on the steering wheel? Also, do you have the TCU unit? You can check in the trunk underneath the carpet behind the top hydraulic fluid. If you have the TCU, you can code in Bluetooth by adding $639 to you vehicle order and then coding that to the CIC with Ncsexpert. You can also upgrade to the Combox instead of the TCU so you can get Bluetooth Audio in addition to Bluetooth for calling.
To code the voice control, you need to add the FSC code for voice control to your car with FSTool like I show you in the video at 36:42. The coding template is 17. You also need to make sure you have $620 in your vehicle order.
Here is a link to the map data with instructions www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1765354
You can get the activation code for the map data from the key generator like I show you in the video at 43:15

Watch the whole video to see how to do the coding, the coding part starts at 19:14. You can download the coding software here www.bimmergeeks.net/downloads its free and it gives you instructions. At 21:55 I show you how to read the vehicle order or option list of the car with NCSexpert, you can see I have $620 on the list since the car came with voice control.

This is amazing man, the most thorough video I've seen. I do have a question though, I have a plan to use an aftermarket display that has the apple carplay/android auto functions. Are there any issues you might see with that or am I good with just doing all the normal steps of the retrofit but with replacing the normal CIC display with the android aftermarket display?
The only issue is that the aftermarket android screen can only connect through AUX audio which is crap compared to USB. Also it will come with all these extra harnesses that make it so cramped back there and prone to overheating. I recommend you just do the Combox upgrade so you can get OEM Bluetooth Audio and Spotify on your Idrive screen if you have the USB port in the armrest. What more do you really need while driving? ua-cam.com/video/_8UcuiXDoro/v-deo.html
Hi I watch the video but you lost me, I bought a CIC unit new BMW original and muy navigation don’t work can you help.
Is a e93 M3
Can you also provide the correct CIC part numbers for my 2009 530i M Package E60?
All the parts are the same except for the head unit. I put the part numbers in the description. Make sure you get a head unit from late 2009 or early 2010 if you're buying from eBay so it is more likely to have the C1A software. It should say what car the head unit came from in the ebay ad (should be 2009 or 2010 E60). The screen is the same like the one in this video. The only other part you need for the E60 is the trim that goes around the head unit. -> www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/center-dashboard-trim/51456976361/
The coding is the same.
Good DIY
What works if it’s not coded?
Maybe the sound only if you are lucky enough to have the the same sound system option as the car it came from. But the coding is easy if you follow my guide and the software is free.
Hey mate. I always get an error 'Error when trying to establish connection' whey i hit to connect button in FSTOOL. How to tell before purchasing that the headunit will have C1A software?
Ask the seller what year was the car the headunit came from. If it is 2011-2013 then most likely to have C1A. You can see on the sticker on the front of the headunit the build date.

hello so if you adding a CIC you need to add $6VA but i also see in his Vo $609 listed and that is NAVIGATION SYSTEM, PROFESSIONAL? someone explain
@@Fancy669 Your VO would also have $609 by default if your CCC has navigation from factory. If you have the MASK system or no screen in the dashboard at all then the CIC retrofit would be more difficult since you would also need to retrofit the navigation antenna.
@@bmwdiy i have mask with lcd so then this is easy to do? Also i have no 609 in my vo? But i i am gonna add cic do i meed to add 609?
@@Fancy669 Yes, as long as you have the navigation antenna which every car with navigation should. Most likely if you have MASK (only in Europe for E9x), then you have the more basic Business Navigation which is option code $606A. So you need to delete $606A and add $609.
