One thing I've experienced with praying for those who hurt me is that in the beginning I don't want to and by the time I am finished praying for them I feel light and compassionate towards them.

Love your enemies means that you will not be their judge and persecutors . An enemy can be stronger than you, an enemy can be weaker than you .

Your enemy may not spare your life , but you've spared theirs . No weapon formed against shall prosper .

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (October 11), this was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "Love for Enemies." Sadly, due to the Corona Virus outbreak, Sunday School activities have been suspended until further notice.

Lord, I have given what I could to bind the evil and invite the good in, I see that as love. I think I have given enough love now to my enemies, I need love for others as well! I loosen the word of luke 6:27-36 praying my opponents start loving themselves in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

Today I heard a preacher who made a comparison to boxes:
Applying this commandment in our lives goes against our "nature." Where many everyday utensils are very intuitive and thus make our lives easier, loving our enemies, in a first stage anyway, is just the opposite.
Where we try to avoid pain, a boxer knows he will give up. If he wants to hit with his left foot, he has to go forward with his right foot. In boxing, it's exactly like you always have to do the opposite, than what you actually want. I summarize, and if I remember correctly, he had taken this from a movie. He did end on a positive note.
If we also apply this commandment in our lives, then our life becomes wet easier in this world.
I hope the Lord changes my heart and I finally do what is necessary.
Declaring blessings on the world and humanity. And no longer curse anyone.

Loving your enemies never meant to not defend yourself and family , but resorting to violence could leave casualties .

According to the Hebrews Scriptures we can all rest assured that our loved our ones grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends and enemy's had there sin debt paid in full. They were included in Father YAHwen's PLAN from the beginning. I praise Father YAHweh for the blessed hope.

Love your enemies means “not to hate your enemies”, because
    1) it will hurt yourself when your mind set on “hating mode”; it doesn’t have to be religious to be convinceds; it’s confirmed by “Dr Emoto’s water experiment “;
    2) it’s self promoted by setting your mind on “loving mode” that would bring all kinds of good lucks with romance, finance, and career.
    3) once you are on “no loving mode”, all lucks would turn away from you.
No mater how burned out you are, to attract good lucks, set your mind on “loving others”.
Once you set on “selfish mode”, it will repel good lucks , and attract bad lucks.

Matthew 22:36-40 - Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Think the Pastor is missing the point of this passage. People who have this opportunity to do do good to those who mistreat them, and to pray for them that they see what is necessary to gain Heaven, ARE GIVEN A GREAT GIFT, THAT OTHERS ARE NOT GIVEN. There need to be these people in our lives, if we want our reward to be great in Heaven. So this should not be viewed as a difficult or challenging passage, AT ALL, but rather a passage which presents, to the lucky ones who have been mistreated, a tremendous oppotunity others may never receive.

Here is more false doctrine that is taught in the church, Satan is our enemy are we to love him 🤔 "I think not" Jesus tells a parable of the tears, which he explains are the seeds of the wicked one, now we know there's only one wicked one.. "Satan" we are told in that parable to leave them alone, not to love them, not to pray for them.. to simply, "leave them alone" sometimes when studying the word of God the only requirement is common sense, point is, if someone is evil and are spitefully using you, taking advantage of you you are not to love them you are to leave them alone.. period, there are some people in this world that you just can't love, I have no idea where man get this concept from, it certainly wasn't from God😑
