My GOD... We are so outclassed anymore!!! 😭
its ok we still like you. Jared not so much....
Yo Stevie you’re still top level cracked though.
bozo
Mine is in there too but you all blow me out of the water Stevie
@@coreysmith1974No. Before you attack Stevie T, you must challenge ME to a shred off. Over my dead guitar!
This video proves that no matter what you’re good at…there’s a kid half your age and twice as good as you out there.
😂😂😂
Twice?! make that 10 times🤣 kill me now
But who's got anything original to "say" on the guitar anymore? Almost all of these players sound the same to me. Arpeggios and sweeps.... Very little to distinguish them from each other.
That sounds like someone who doesn't actually play guitar / or be good at it. No offense. But they all sound very different.@@Truth_Hurts_Bad
But at the same time, no one else can be you. That's the best part, skill level aside. Sometimes simple stuff hits way harder. Sometimes you need the shred or it's empty. It's just different decorations of time and it's beautiful
James Norton played so fast that I was transported down a Super Mario pipe
Thank you so much for including me in this video Jared, I highly appreciate it 🤍
Thanks a lot guys for all the support and beautiful comments!
Ton of insane musicians and guitat players this year, damn! This motivates a lot 😍
Jared, here is one of a kind guitarrist in this life! Don’t miss the magic around!!!❤
Your phenomenal!
Bro I was so happy to see your video! You absolutely killed it!
New sub 🔥🐺
The very 1st dude out the gate today and you smashed it. Well done sir.
Thanks for including me Jared, honored to be between all these great guys!
huge fan of your Cry For You cover! You got it bro! 😁
Yoooo yeah. I remember watching your take weeks ago and I was like yeah this guy is definitely on it
Dude! You hit the nail on the head every time 🤘🏼musicality is on another level 🙏🏼
Your a great shredder 🫡
that's what she said
So glad to see James Norton on here. He’s such a humble dude and has battled cancer and I have so much respect for his talent and just his overall personality super deserving
For sure! His attitude and openness about that whole ordeal has been inspiring.
Thank you so much for including me!!! So happy to be part of this ❤
Also you actually read my name with proper pronunciation 😊
James Norton Nailed it
I like the Atari video game arpeggios
James Norton. Dude is making arcade noises just like Jacky Vincent. He's in. ❤
James Norton…. Wtf…? This dude started playing the sound made when Mario goes down a pipe on NES.
It’s been an unbelievably crazy weekend but thank you so much Jared! Most people won’t know I took a 5 year break and just started playing again earlier this year. If I went back in time and told myself I’d be here today, I would have said I’m crazy lol but here we are 😊 thanks to all the great comments and support! I truly appreciate all of you and all the amazing guitarists that have sent their video in. I have a lot of new favorites to watch now!
I'm honored to have discovered you man, I speak for all the others who did the same too. You killed it. 🔥
you're an insane player, dude 🤘
You're just incredible, I can’t do this with my hands, you are an example of perseverance
@@tabbid9473thank you so much tabbid!🙏😁
@@chuckp342thanks Chuck!!
James Norton's shred was ridiculous.
Renstrom needs his segment in Shred Collab 6.
He does more than most people do with half as many fingers. 🤘
I was heading to the comments to say that dude deserves a extra slot in the collab regardless of who gets picked!
@@TheXrossfade I wanna know his channel so I can sub.

Gotchu
100% that man should have a spot regardless who else got in.
He's basically the Django Reinhardt of shred.
hahaha 10:03 I didn't want to brag at all! It's just something that has been "part of my style" for many years, and I always try to include it, I have fun and like to try that kind of thing, very grateful to have had the opportunity to include my real entry!!!!!! spoon op
Super Sick solo man! sorry you had to be followed up by the fakest performance I’ve seen in a while
@@LukeEricksonguitardefinitely wasn’t fake, James actually plays fast af like that & doesn’t comp his solos for stuff like this (does a bunch of takes and just picks ONE instead)
Thanks so much for including me in the video, and the kind words Jared.. 🙏

@@geordihills You = 🐐
Your solo was my favorite
What type of guitar/setup was that?
@@keithcostanza96 hey thanks a lot 🙏 . I’m using a 1979 25th anniversary Strat but with a custom neck. Axe fx 2 for my tones!
Jared is the realest for keeping these shred collabs going and including so many people who have clearly put so much effort into it. Awesome to see the guitarists out here, thriving.
“That guy is uh… Guitar Pro 💻 “ 🤣 best way Jared could have handled that

WOOHOO So glad to have been put on the video with all these fantastic players! Thanks for the amazing and kind words, Jared 💜💜💜
So happy to see myself in the video! Thanks for your awesome words. I'm actually stunned when it comes to how incredible every other entry is. Guess I should've spent a little more than a few hours on this, lol. Excellent stuff by EVERYONE! Thanks again, Jared. Let's keep the guitar alive!!! 🤘🤘
10:19 James Norton was so clean. Holy shit. That was indeed the take.
4:00 Dom Chavez was also sick. Flawlessly transitioning between some pretty tough techniques at a really high speed.
12:44 Nicola Gulmini was super creative. Those weird beat divisions were definitely trippy and cool sounding.
19:04 As a melodic solo, this vibed pretty hard. I really liked those note choices, and the bends were indeed super clean.
.
So many great players besides the ones I mentioned too. Those were just the main ones that stuck out for me. And this was only like 15-20 entries out of 1500... jeez, this would be hard (impossible) to judge. As a fly on the wall though, I'm glad as hell the shred collab let's me enjoy all these insanely talented musicians.
10:19 James Norton was faking it you can clearly "see" its midi audio , that's why Jared said he's a GuitarPRo (program that uses midi audio used for writing music)
@@MM20104everhe played it live as well, he is actually very talented, more so than dines that’s for sure
@@MM20104everhe played the solo on tiktok live with no punchins, dude plays live on tiktok all the time. Not too mention he went to Berkeley. As if Jared knew what he was talking about after the RoS shit 😂
@@nicholastorgerson8176 you mean he played it live with heavy backing synth turned way up to hide all the mistakes and the fact that he can't actually play it properly. That's why he won't play it to just a click, he can't. And you do realize that going to school means nothing. Most guitarists are self taught, which is honestly more impressive than having a teacher guiding you.
I've watched his "live" videos and you can clearly tell how sloppy he really is. You don't go from that level of slop to perfect computer quantized video game sounding 100% attack on every note perfection like that, ever. 95% of what you're hearing in his playing is actually the synth that's playing all the same notes
Thanks Jared! Honored to be in this video with all these supertalented guitarist!! 🤘🤘🎸🎸😁
James Norton, the Koala guy, and Nikola Gulmini are my picks. These were all insane, I’m just trying to limit myself to 3 of my favorites for each of these videos. Lol, it’s hard man but I like that you are doing these videos, giving exposure to more amazing musicians and butchering their names 😂
Bro james nortons entry is the fakest shit i have ever seen.
MOM I MADE IT!!!😀 (16:28) Holy smokes-some real talent in this video🔥😅 Thanks for all the hard work ur putting into this, Jared!🤝🏻 And thank you for featuring me so I can look bad compared to all the other super shredders😂 Love and rock ‘n’ roll🫡😎 -Rikki Thrash🤘🏻
The attention to detail in your shrine to Stallone did not go unnoticed. Love it!
Hey Rikki! Awesome to see you here! Tough Competition indeed!

I saw your entry before the feature and I loved the energy
@RikkiThrash always an amazing shredder love to watch all you collabs #80’srock

Jared thank you so much, words can’t even begin to describe my excitement and happiness to be featured in a video of yours! These folks are so good man ❤ Thanks for showcasing these sick players
its amazing on how a guitar shredding video always makes you motivated and demotivated at the same time.
I just want to thank you for tossing this all together. I got no horse in the race but listening to these people do this insane shit is fun. You're giving them a bit of a platform and showing their work.
Seeing stuff like this then looking at the Rolling Stone top 250 guitarists in the world is hilarious. The majority of the people you've showcased thus far can outplay most of their list, even quite a few of the mythic legends we know deserve to be on that list. UA-cam has helped to increase musical talent so much since it's inception. It's truly pushed the boundaries far passed what I ever imagined.
All monsters.-.the level of talent is brutal
James Norton is an absolute beast!
James Norton's speed was incredible.
Bruh its midi
James Norton's PC speed is incredible**
That James Norton clip was next level playing!
Jared man, I know this is your job and the whole bit. But I just want to say thank you for doing this every year. These players are incredible. It’s just insane where we are as players today. I never would’ve dreamed this would be the state of guitar. Beyond impressed. Thanks again dude and thank to all the dudes who put in the work to craft these amazing solos.
My Picks
Corey Smith,
Fredrik Fenck
Alex Schnelman
Nicola Gulmini
Rick Renstrom
Shaped In Dreams
🙏
I've seen a LOT of shred videos in my life, those James Norton sweeps were the fastest I've ever seen.
Enough has not and cannot be said about the talent, skill, and heart of James Norton. Its so good that Jared, myself and the rest of the audience, nor even himself can really get a grasp on how good he is.
James Norton is a fuckin BADASS! He is insanely talented and also just a really great dude!
Yeah I didn't know him and people started insulting and harassing him for "faking" this. Even if he was nobody has the right to do so.
idk if youve ever heard of gutiar pro or what it sounds like, but his clip sounds exactly like everyone who has been caught for being fake, because it sounds exactly like guitar pro. I dont know for sure but im much more willing to bet it is indeed fake.@@sammydaboul6781
10:20 no words, he already won the collab and he’s not even in it yet but yes he is because you have to put him in
James Norton gets my vote 😱
These videos are so much fun.I've been playing since"Surfin' with the Alien" came out.I can shred some, but all of the submissions you show make me want to take piano lessons.Ok...gonna go drink some beer, then sell my gear.
Kidding about the gear.
the tone coming off these strats is amazing!
Borja Mintegiaga (insane, fast but good), Ben Rabha (interesting scale use, I like a little discordance) , Corey Smith (This was probably the best one, fast, but still had feel, my fingers hurt watching him slide that fast), Nicola Gulmini (part of the new school polyphiaesque), Rick Renstrom ( this is one I had to watch over again, amazing talent with out the disability, insane that he can do that with his disability) Shaped In Dreams ( I like when people realize that the frets below the 10th are also playable), Tomas Villanueva ( added some texture with the harmonics and the palm mutes in the lower register, it was the most interesting interpretation with out any electronic tricks) Yang Jin Hyun (super clean great feeling) I like Fredrick Fincke but he had to change the original too much to get it to work with his style but that ending was great. FX Hexchen with the damn spoon again and the over-the-top. James Norton was just too much, sonically confusing but, insane talent, insane speed and insane control. They were all fantastic.
🙏 🙏 🙏
Thanks so much Andrew!
Alessandro Zilio 🤘🏼🙌🏼👌🏻
Great to Jared active again, still being hilarious and the video quality just keeps getting better
Jared is invaluable to the metal community!!! I'm just here to watch the daily dose of shred submissions :)
Rick Renstrom's playing brought tears to my eyes.
I know it's cheesy to say.... but .... man, oh, man.
Dude same, I srsly was like: what the fck did I just watch
@@DespiseChoChugz I've seen this guy on TTok on live streams. Dude can shred. He is more classic metal, but he can throw down and I really like listening to him play.
Thank you so much! That truly means a lot to me!
@RickRenstromOfficial Well done dude instant Django Reinhardt throwback!
10:49 james norton
NO WAY! Thanks a lot for including me among all these shred monsters, Jared! Also, you're the best for the effort of doing these videos ❤
And the guitar is a True Range by Tagima. It's a Brazilian made instrument, but they are starting to make them in the USA too

You need to get a group of your friends together and just sit down and judge blocks of 25 to 50 and get the best 5 or 10 from each block then keep repeating with the favorites until you can narrow it down to the number you want.
My favorites were definetely Fredrik Fencke, James Norton, Richard from Germany and Yang Jin Hyun. But holy shit what a bunch of talented people, everyone was great.
James Norton 🤘🏽wow!!! However, every clip was 👍🏽 very cool. The title for the vlog says it all. Good art isn’t lost, pure 🤘🏽
James Norton........ I cried for real..... phenominal

I loved the first entry from FX Hexcen but the second one just killed it. Best entry out of all I’ve seen so far. Also James Norton - insane. All entries were good, but these 2 are on another level
James nortons live take on tiktok sounds like absolute garbage btw
Thanks so much for including me with all of these excellent players!
Thanks for including my entry!:) Seeing all those talented players make me realise how far behind them I am ahah but it is always fun to participate:)
Borja/Rabha/Akif/Fencke/Cardone/Norton/Hyun, killed it! Honestly, you're gonna have to make the next Shred Collab about 2 hours long...there are too many incredible players. haha
Tanx man ❤
Fredrik Fencke really stood out as the most melodic and not being just about playing as many notes as possible!
James Norton however did play the most notes possible, and those video game style arpeggios were like nothing I'd ever heard.
i think these dudes playing all kinds of instruments forsure everyone on guitar is just amazing so its hard to pick regardless theres a few tasty ones i like but everyone has different tastes .
love this going through them together idea and much love for putting stuff like this one maybe one day ill submit something.

I second that

As a guitarist that started playing during the original shred era in 1987, but then came of age in the alternative 90s, the grunge era definitely did a disservice to my generation of guitarists. These kids are mind blowing. (I’m 48. Everyone is a kid to me now. 😂)
RICK RENSTORM
ROBAR MUSIC

@BorjaMintegiaga 's thing is absolute madness 🤯
A lot of people thought that James Norton around 10:20 was faked, including myself. But the dude posted the full solo with raw audio on his live stream, that dude is the real deal deal.

Y'know Jared gets a lot of stick these days (don't know why, success probably), but one thing no one can undermine is him each year now, utilising his platform to showcase incredible talent in this guitaring world. Each year I look forward to it and this years format with these videos is only building hype but also showcasing a lot of the talent that may go missed otherwise. Well played Jared, can't wait to hear the full thing.
10:36 That doesn't look sped up at all, believe it
Borja, Nicola, Red Scorpion, Yang Jin, all my top picks so far on this one. All great, just these hit me more.
