This video is terrific! Scott's back and forth with himself, full of positive affirmation to his own ideas, is both entertaining and inspiring! Well done!
Chernabog from Night on Bald Mountain is considered a villain when all he does is wake up all the ghosties and ghoulies, throw a dance party and go back to bed. He’s not a villain, he’s a DJ

I've been wondering if this is the same approach he takes for a fully rendered painting and he just keeps going, or if he starts completely differently. His portfolio does have many different styles and mediums.
Im so late but the dude reminds me of Kali from Indian mythology. Yknow.. cool arms, sickle and head. I know these two concepts are in no way related (maybe sometimes) but yeah! Thats what came to mind. Hope you check it out Scott :D
His hips appear to be totally even which makes him look stiff, I’d tilt a hip and make it seem like one leg is more forward or lower than the other. Also the tongue needs some shadow in spots to make it appear three dimensional and jutting out towards the viewer.
honestly the tentacle tongues comment gives me an idea in a story. What is the werewolf comparison for the mermaid. Ursala is the witch, but whose their dracula?
Hi, I'm really enjoying this kind of videos!! But i have a question: this individual shapes that you getting to the arms for example all of them are in different layers or only one?
Scott does it a couple different ways, depending on the situation but he's usually working on the same layer. Sometimes, if he knows he's going to move or adjust a shape, he'll do it on a separate layer, though.

hello, i might be late but can explain what i khow. he is taking away some information for the viewer doesn't focus on the less important features that why some artists dont draw every part of a shadow or detail on their concept. by doing this, we can easily view the main subject
Dear Soctt: Do I have your permision to paint over your artwork? I'd like to see this illustration in the style of Frazetta and that's a style I've been mastering. Let me know! :)
I learned nothing listening to this, you didn't explain how to make one's art better you just explained what you were doing with your piece. You explained nothing on why you chose the shapes you did, and what they convey. Im confuse why this is marked as a training video for artists.
I mean great artist and all, but can we not use headdresses in art like this. It's a part of a culture not a garb for character creation. There are plenty of powerful things one can use to make their creature more powerful like spikes. I always get upset to see Plaines natives culture specifically abused because 'it looks cool'. It's one thing to draw a native with a headdress, but a whole norther thing to do so for a character. I feel the same way about people wearing these items as well for the headdress/warbonnet is sacred and every feather has to be earned. As a native I just can't there are other roots that one can take without stealing from a culture!
@@SwordmasterSeph not only multi armed...one hand with a cutoff head, one hand with small weapon and two arm are connected to a big weapon....its the exact replica of kali...not durga, shiv vishnu or any....only kali. Indians know all difference between gods even they all share multi arms.

Mom, dad wake up Scott Flanders is on proko again
Okay.. Scott is a total legend, not only is he an excellent teacher he also seems to be having a tone of fun doing it.
i see what u did there
man this is like inspiration fuel. it really gives you the energy to draw. it feels like scott is a very inspired person full of artistic energy.
"i make sure to flip the canvas every three seconds*flips*that's embarrassing" i felt that hahaha
This video is terrific! Scott's back and forth with himself, full of positive affirmation to his own ideas, is both entertaining and inspiring! Well done!
It's crazy how the bat and goblin really add to that final pop in the piece, such a small thing but such a big impact
Chernabog from Night on Bald Mountain is considered a villain when all he does is wake up all the ghosties and ghoulies, throw a dance party and go back to bed. He’s not a villain, he’s a DJ
This man has drawn the character that I’ve been attempting to draw for a year…. I’m so sad and happy, gotta go back to the drawing board
What I like about the extra limbs is that with the head it creates a nice 5 pointed shape - like a star
Another awesome peek at your process, Scott (and a great drawing!). Thanks!
I love these. Just getting a chance to sit on Scott's thinking process helps me structure my own creative process so much.
Legitimately need this on a shirt
I want to learn this style of creating art so badly. It's always been one of my favourite approaches even before i knew how it was made.

Scott Flanders is the man!
Sometimes when it’s late at night i make stores for my character or picture them in a movie to help set the tone while I’m drawing
That's a beautiful entity.
3:45 "Anyways, he gets up to no good--"
I fully expected the next phrase was gonna be, "--And started making trouble in the neighborhood."
He got in ooone little fight and his mom got scared!
This is a solid demonstration. I really need to finally use my drawing screen... well, LEARN how to use it in conjunction with Photoshop.
This guy is awesome you should give him your channel
hei scott :) and proko :)
"October's here" man, November is literally less than a week away.
😆
Yaaap gorgeous! I fell in love with bnw version though! Lasso skill is crazy!
I've missed you Scott
Oh heck yeah i love this guy!

Amazing video, thanks Scott. You're so funny BTW
what brushes did you used?
Great one sir

Love thiiiis!! ❤
Was this done in real time or is it a Timelapse?
There are some small areas snipped out here and there for video pacing but most of the drawing action is realtime when you see it.
@@ProkoTV Goddamn that is fast
very cool
Course looks great, was photoshop used?
Yep!

Why are some of drawing lacking in more detail: i.e.: shadowing variety, etc. Or, is this a "style" type you're going for?

Sorry, I don't want to hate on this but this is deadass generic artstation stuff. If you wanna go into character design talk to brock hofer.
Ok
That's just Brook YOOHOHOHOHO
that design is directly influenced from Indian goddess Kali....
any multi armed figure is going to come off as referenced from an Indian god.

How he flip the canvas so fast, i use PS for years but still,
I know nothing 🥲🥲
