Considering the main events of ATLA's story spans one year, it's safe to say that Team Avatar is stacked. They grow tremendously within that year. They're kids at the end of the series but were all powerful and full of potential. I really wished (as do many ATLA fans) we got more stories of young adult ATLA and more of the TV series. In LOK we get to see flashbacks, but it mostly features Aang and doesn't show the other members too much which is a shame. They also did Sokka dirty, poor Sokka.
@@dav1d9 he has only one flashback scene, and because they only originally planned to do one season of Kora he was the only human member of the original team, other than Aang for obvious reasons, that didn't wind up making a return as an old wise character. the first season of Kora also implied that the only surviving member of the original team Avatar was Katara
Just a little tidbit, airbending also gives Aang the ability to move extremely fast, project his voice, and amp his attacks with wind. As seen when he's using airbending on multiple occasions to move much faster than a normal human. On top of that, he mastered all techniques by age twelve but he also created his own technique the airball (airscooter as pointed out by neon clouds), which we see throughout the show. It's not really touched upon here or the show much, but Aang's airbending techniques are actually so strong that in the avatar state he can be seen seen cracking rocks and eroding away earth pillars with air alone. On top of being able to dispel other bending elements like fire and water. Aang is also able to REDIRECT lightning bending, but is unable to generate it, at least at that current point in the show. Like Rob says Aang was naturally gifted at waterbending, and though he may have been aided by the moon spirit during his tenure at the northern water tribe. It can not be understated how much of a beast he CAN be. As seen when in the last episode of the show, Aang is freely shown using a small amount of the avatar state to raise AN ENTIRE LAKE/OCEAN TO PUT OUT MILES WORTH OF FOREST FIRE, SUBMERGING EVERYTHING WITHIN SIGHT. Though utilized much less than either airbending or waterbending, Aang's ability to earthbend is actually unique compared to other benders. As he was taught by Toph, a blind earthbender who used vibrations within the earth to "see" her opponents. A skill later taught to Aang giving him a massive advantage when earthbending, and the technique isn't limited to only the ground, as long as you have dirt on you and you're in the air as well, you can be seen by them. An additional note: Since the avatar state allows access to the experience of all other avatars in history, it can be said that you become as strong as all other avatars as well. As bending isn't just purely about talent, but experience as well, there isn't like power level differences you see in comics, just how well a person has mastered their element. So, that being said, previous avatar iteration Avatar Kyoshi can be seen using earthbending to split apart and break away an entire section of land surrounded by water, to the point lava was seeping through the crack. Aka, she literally cracked the surface and mantle of the earth itself, since we are seeing lava come through. And then USING PURELY AIRBENDING PUSHED IT AWAY, thus creating Kyoshi ISLAND. That's right, she made her own landmass. Another past iteration, Avatar Kuruk can be seen in a flashback surfing a massive wave in his homeland the southern (maybe northern?) water tribe. Which is located in the southern pole, so you know, waves.exe typically not found in that location. (Completely disregard this statement bc IsThatNxs is right, still gonna assume tho he might have used waterbending to surf a wavw that big tho, but def could be wrong)
The purpose of wiping out the air nomads was to end the avatar cycle because they knew the next avatar would be an airbender. The avatar cycle goes water, earth, fire then air based on the order of the seasons. Please make a beyond omega level video on toph
Toph would make more sense than Zuko considering she expanded the use of an entire element in two ways (which in Korra introduces a 3rd). She's imo the best character of the franchise next to Kyoshi.

I’m glad Zuko got room for everyone’s heart. His character arc is definitely up there with the greatest or might be the greatest character development in the history of animation. Going from one of the main bad guys to helping the gang a lil to going back bad and then finally realizing how important he is to the world and realizing what he needs to do to keep peace and balance (with the help of Uncle Iroh (one of my favorite characters too and has a great character arc as well). What a legend them two turned out to be for the avatar story. Just great story making with a good balance of action and emotions made this one of the best animation to watch. 💯💯👌🏿
I agree Zuko is easily one my favorite characters of all time. And his story is definitely unmatched in a lot of animated series and comics. But also have to put some respect on Azula’s name even though I hated her guts and still do lol she is definitely one of the most intimidating villains I’ve ever seen as well.

Aang didn't use the moon spirit, the moon was killed, Aang used the power of the ocean spirit. Small detail but that was why he was able to create a tidal wave that pushed a whole fleet of warships out to the sea

Causing Aang and the ocean spirit to merge into an enormous water creature that repelled the fire national navy. It was at the end of Aang’s rampage that Princess Yue gave back the bit of the moon spirit the resided in her. That is how SHE became the moon spirit. And the moon reappeared in the sky.

I LOVED this video. Rob I dont know how much your knowledge of the world and lore of avatar is but I think you'd love the world building and how deep and extensive the lore really goes. Hi Mariah, I just wanted to say good job from a fellow ATLA expert. I only noticed one thing that wasn't strictly correct and it wasn't important to the video. Rob you should ask Mariah about Avatar Kyoshi because she was the "bad" avatar. The avatar exists to maintain balance and is inhabited by the spirit of light, so idk if they can be evil, but they can do their job in shady ways for sure.
Yeah they can't be evil unless Vaatu possessed them and on that subject it would've been more interesting if Vaatu got out earlier so we could've had a real mirror match and truly see what an evil avatar would be like.
Zuko is definetly atleast omega level. Often looked over he uses Sunfire by the end of the show and it's almost exactly how it sounds he uses fire like the sun so ridiculously strong

Also considering the fact that Aang was 12 (not counting his years frozen) at the start of the series and how in one year he mastered all those other things. zuko journey was struggle and emotional. a great character. the burned face a loss of home and kingdom and mother and never having a loving father or getting acknowledged or earning his father's love after the burn. or the long road of self reflection brooding hatred loss hurt silence turning from his uncle's wisdoms and experience of try help with talking and direction the push to run away from it all and start a new only get hurt again in his new life and having to walk away alone again. to trying to gain relevance with his father and his turmoil into helping his so thought enemy to building and burning the bridges of friendship and rebuilding them again. and finding a truth of his worth his skills his efforts connections his differences and strengths and rekindled love and recovery
There are also Blood Benders (seems to be a variation of Water Bending) and Iron Benders (seemingly a variation on Earth Bending). Some variations on Fire bending as well, with the explosion clan with the eye on their forehead, and control over lightning, which seems to be skill based. Then there's spirit bending, I guess... Zuko 100% deserves Beyond Omega status.
I’m sorry I’m gonna have to disagree with this one. Aang isn’t nearly on the same level as even regular omega level characters let alone the ones beyond. He’s a dope character but should just make a different category or series for this one. He’s strong but compared to any other character you’ve done it’s not comparable

I mean if aang wanted to he could, remember kyoshi broke the mantle, the ocean spirit and avatar state destroyed an armada, the avatar being a bridge /barrier between the spirit world could in theory tear down the barrier and unleash the entirety of the spirit world, like in LoK. So... If Aang is omega level... Azula zapped his a** into the afterlife, thus, she's omega level too. But Zuko defeated Azula, making him, guess what, Omega Level. Call me crazy but for some reason I feel like avatar kyoshi was the sickest one as far as fighting ability and mastery went especially with how serious she was too.
I mean, I'm sure everyone has seen the show, but if you haven't, it's timeless, like no matter what age you are, it teaches you something from mental health and childhood to being a parent, an uncle, and how big the world is and how to face it. There's so much more.
Rob's knowledge of Omega level characters should be Omega Level in on itself. Question Rob can you do a remastered of Marvel's Civil War and do a remasted of the Death and Return of Superman. On a last note you should do a beyond omega level about Aang's latest reincarnation Korra and do a video about Iron man's failure as the leader of the Avengers during civil war to Captain America reborn.
Solution: Beyond* Omega Level: Prince Zuko (* for story) Why not include amazing stories as a qualifier for power level? These are fictional characters. The point of them is to tell us a moving story that affects us. Just because the character doesn't diegetically have Omega-Level power, doesn't mean their impact on us isn't powerful.

Hi Mariah, I just wanted to say good job from a fellow ATLA expert. I only noticed one thing that wasn't strictly correct and it wasn't important to the video.
Rob you should ask Mariah about Avatar Kyoshi because she was the "bad" avatar. The avatar exists to maintain balance and is inhabited by the spirit of light, so idk if they can be evil, but they can do their job in shady ways for sure.
Yeah they can't be evil unless Vaatu possessed them and on that subject it would've been more interesting if Vaatu got out earlier so we could've had a real mirror match and truly see what an evil avatar would be like.

Zuko is definetly atleast omega level. Often looked over he uses Sunfire by the end of the show and it's almost exactly how it sounds he uses fire like the sun so ridiculously strong
Uhh no its not sunfire. Its the comet that amped firebending...and it amped every single firebender so its a feat that he simply was one of them.

Also considering the fact that Aang was 12 (not counting his years frozen) at the start of the series and how in one year he mastered all those other things. The Avatar state is badass as hell but is made all the cooler by the fact that if he dies while in Avatar state, the reincarnation cycle is broken. Damn. There are also Blood Benders (seems to be a variation of Water Bending) and Iron Benders (seemingly a variation on Earth Bending). Some variations on Fire bending as well, with the explosion clan with the eye on their forehead, and control over lightning, which seems to be skill based. Then there's spirit bending, I guess... Zuko 100% deserves Beyond Omega status.

I’m sorry I’m gonna have to disagree with this one. Aang isn’t nearly on the same level as even regular omega level characters let alone the ones beyond. He’s a dope character but should just make a different category or series for this one. He’s strong but compared to any other character you’ve done it’s not comparable
He can be on the same level, Aang just doesn't have 50+ years of media to flesh out all his abilities.

I mean if aang wanted to he could, remember kyoshi broke the mantle, the ocean spirit and avatar state destroyed an armada, the avatar being a bridge /barrier between the spirit world could in theory tear down the barrier and unleash the entirety of the spirit world, like in LoK. The avatar could have destroyed the world.

I mean, I'm sure everyone has seen the show, but if you haven't, it's timeless, like no matter what age you are, it teaches you something from mental health and childhood to being a parent, an uncle, and how big the world is and how to face it. There's so much more.
Rob's knowledge of Omega level characters should be Omega Level in on itself. Question Rob can you do a remastered of Marvel's Civil War and do a remasted of the Death and Return of Superman. On a last note you should do a beyond omega level about Aang's latest reincarnation Korra and do a video about Iron man's failure as the leader of the Avengers during civil war to Captain America reborn.

Why not include amazing stories as a qualifier for power level? These are fictional characters. The point of them is to tell us a moving story that affects us. Just because the character doesn't diegetically have Omega-Level power, doesn't mean their impact on us isn't powerful.
