They kept it for a month, how long do they need to keep "evidence" when there will be no trial? They gathered all the evidence they needed within a few days and that evidence is still in The National Archives today......The bullet fragments are there, the windshield is there............You actually don't have a legitimate point but I'm sure that never stopped you before and won't now.

Speaking of the machine itself, you can imagine Mercedes being envious of the prominence and stature this Limo put forth in the early 60’s, before the assassination, even.
Not to be outdone by the Americans, they soon developed and created the 600 Pullman with their first big V8 as an answer to this and help bolster their image.

When any crime has been committed involving a motor vehicle as the crime scene, it can be held as evidence for years. Again, just curious. Thank you guys. This is fascinating stuff.

Most people know that the limousine JFK was assassinated in was stripped down. It was armored, bulletproof glass was installed, along with other security measures. It was also repainted black from a midnight blue color. Then, Presidents Johnson and Nixon went on to use the car after the upgrades. This is the assassination limousine AFTER all of the modifications were done after the assassination.

1961 Lincoln Continental Presidential Limousine, Steel Plate Floor Added during "Quick Fix," 1964.
After President John F. Kennedy's assassination on November 22, 1963, the Hess & Eisenhardt Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, rebuilt the 1961 Lincoln Continental Presidential Limousine into an armored car.
The floor was reinforced with 1/8-inch thick steel plate to protect against blasts from grenades or mines.
Other portions of the car were armored with 3/8-inch thick titanium plate.
*Bullet hole in floor of JFK limo, found during modifications in Dec 1963, & hushed up (see photo).*
*Notice that the hole is not round, it has been made by the remnant slug after ricocheting off the signal arm.*
*The hole might today be found in the floor, under the new reinforcing plate.*
The copper full metal jacket broke in two as usual during the ricochet because it is made in two sections, & these were found in the limo (CE567 CE569).

Oswald shot-1. JFK at distance one limo length past the signals. Ricochets off western side of western signal arm guy rod. Hull found at SN.
Oswald shot-1. Oswald fired at T137 which is say Z112, slug lands at T138 ie Z113, noise arrives at T139 ie Z114.
Max Holland says shot-1 was at time Z107-8.
Dale Myers says that shot-1 was at i think T150 or some silly such late number. No it was at T138.
Oswald shot-1. A spray of fine lead hits the back of JFK's head (XRays).
*Remnant slug makes non-round hole in limo floor (photo), & probly hits driveshaft & road (& aint found).*
The FMJ broke in 2 as is usual (CE567 CE569 found in limo).
Oswald shot-2. JFK at time & distance Z218 (the magic bullet)(found). Hull found at SN.

Not even the same damn car. Kennedy rode in a 61. That's a 62, can easily tell by the front end. Besides alot of other presidents rode in that limo before it was decomissioned. I'd hardly call that the Kennedy car. If that was a 1961 Continental in midnight blue, with the open top and the bullet hole in the front glass, with the GG-300 plates still on, that would be the real Kennedy car.

This is the real limousine that President Kennedy was assassinated in. After the assassination, the limousine had been modified with enhanced security measures as it was previously an un-armored vehicle. It was rebuilt with a permanent roof, titanium armor plating, and it was repainted with black paint. You can learn more on our website at thf.org/collections.
