This is the easiest way I have found to cook pumpkin for all those fall recipes! Give it a try because I’m sure this will be your new go to method for cooking pumpkins.
Yes! I have 3 planned. One will be released in the morning. I figured this one wasn’t really a recipe as much as a tip to make it easier to prep for other recipes. What a great idea on a collab!
I’ve never thought of using my instant pot to cook pumpkin, but it looks like such an easy and convenient way to cook it! I may have to try this next time.
Yes! Spaghetti squash too- anything that it tough to cut is so easy to deal with after cooking it in the instant pot. The only difference is higher moisture content- so if you want to roast squash as a side it is generally better in the oven because it dries a bit and gets crispier. The spaghetti squash is great though with some sauce. So much simpler and no risk of hurting yourself with a knife.
Nice! I cook my spaghetti squash and acorn squash in the crock pot too! I didn’t know you could cook cook it whole! Thanks for sharing!! Now we can have roasted pumpkin seeds yum!!
@@MayfieldRanch I meant in the instant pot! Lol! I used to do it when the kids were small, we would soak them in salt water and then roast them on a cookie sheet. I bet you could even use the air fryer!
I love it! If you like to make soups or stews it is great. We use ours quite a bit actually. I make ribs in it and then just finish them in the oven or it’s perfect for those days I get home and forgot to take anything out of the freezer- makes cooking dinner so fast.
@@MayfieldRanch I just heard you can buy I'm not sure if it's the same quality as a regular pressure canner. I also just bought a pressure canner and I'm excited to try it out! It's been in the box for over a month now 🤣🤣
Yes so easy this way. I would recommend using the trivet / tray that comes with it. That would have been easier to get the pumpkin out. 🤣 I have not preserved the pumpkin. I generally just use it all up in a few different recipes. I just let the pumpkins sit on the counter until I’m ready to use it. In the past I have frozen some so I could make pumpkin bread the following week.
Yours is my favorite video showing this technique. Two reasons why, #1 Of all of the videos I have watched, you’re the only person who mentions washing the pumpkin. #2 You actually call the pot and Instant Pot, not an Insta Pot. I will not watch a video of someone who says that. 🤣 Just a pet peeve that drives me crazy. 🤦🏼♀️
Thanks for watching Marina! I wash everything around here. You are so right! I hear a lot of people say insta pot. This method works great for spaghetti squash and other winter squash where it might be challenging to cut. Have a great week! -Cady

What a great idea! I will be doing this
Yes give it a try. It is so easy- especially if you have a tough time cutting the raw pumpkin in half for roasting. Thanks for watching!
I don't have an instant pot but what a great idea for people who do!

@@MayfieldRanchabsolutely! I have heard they are so handy for so many things! And you can even pressure can in them? How cool is that!
I didn’t know if you could pressure can in them or not so I bought a separate pressure canner so I can give it a try.

Skin just slipped right off didn't it. Do you preserve the cooked pumpkin, or do you just go ahead and use all of it?
