The new voice ain't bad, but it doesn't fit Belgium for me, she has this "I am your big sister vibes" in the old one, and the new one is "hey look I'm cute" vibes

as a belgian, i kinda like her new voice more. esepcially her accent. the old accent sounded to French, the new one is a bit of a mix, wich is good considering belgium has 3 main people groups

I'm still upset that they got rid of young/chibi America's actual child-sounding voice and just had Eric Vale use his normal America voice. It sounds so weird, especially since they didn't do that with the other chibi characters except America and Canada.
Honestly that had to be the worst decision the dub ever made. I’m pretty sure Hungary and Chibi America share the same voice actor, and I swear Hungary had a speaking line in that season so I don’t know why they didn’t have her voice that episode. Vale’s adult voice basically ruined any emotional weight that episode had.

I must admit I turned the volume down a little bit because it does in fact hurt a bit since it's so high. I also think it's not the best choice they did but further more because we have Czechia who has a high voice and with Belgium's old voice you could tell them more apart. I'm not saying they sound the same though just from the trademarks both have it takes some character away. Now both voices go into the same direction instead of everyone having a uniqe voice.
Actually... Its a common anime voice pitch. But it sucks, the first dub is better
I did a meme with Belgium and Netherlands with the sub version and wanted to redo it when the dub is avaiable since I gave Netherlands some quotes from Spongeob ( it's the part when she tries to remember his advice) and it's a bit weird when he speaks English and she speaks Japanese... but with that voice I guess I will leave the edit as it is haha
I think her voice fits for the flashback scenes with her and Lux, but using it when she’s an adult doesn’t fit very well

I had the same vibe. Is it the same? I have to look it up... Don't know if it's solely the voice or also the accent which sounds less french but apart from the rolling R just like idk how to describe it... she could practically be from most parts of Europe.
They're not the same. I hope it was just a solution for this season and for the next they have the old back.

The actor likely retired or moved away. And before anyone tells me “That didn’t stop some of the actors from coming back”. It’s her choice whether or not she’d like to, let alone can return. Taliesin Jaffe didn’t return, but I think we can all assume he’s busy with Critical Role and some other things.
In other words, it’s the actor’s choice if they want to continue or not. Some for understandable reasons, others not as much.

Glad I'm not the only one who hates Belgium's new voice. Other than how high pitched it is, what gets on my nerves is how infantile she sounds. She's supposed to be a teenager in this clip, yet she sounds like she's forcing her voice to go up in order to imitate a four year old.

Strongly agree! I hated it the second I heard it. Also, it’s harder to understand her. I think they were trying to play up the whole “cute cat girl thing” but it didn’t work.
I think the voice acting itself is good, but you're right, it really doesn't fit the more mature Belgium we knew. She sounds like a little kid or like Lichtenstein now.
