    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

Isn’t Asher one of the kindest and sweetest members of this family? Just watching how he pets little Patrick in such a loving way touches my heart. And, he is so thoughtful and considerate when interacting with Jonathan, what a great uncle to have. I’ve really come to admire and respect all of the emotional support he brings to every member of the family. Asher, you’re marvelous!!! 🥰👍🥰

I can hardly wait for the restoration of the dining room chairs. I wonder if it’s going to be done in leather? Spanish leather is the best and should be pretty reasonable to buy I would think.

Keep up the excitement in this process of getting to your finish line, because we are on the edge of our seats with every vlog. Kudos to you both for the music! You've not only brought out her "blush," you are now learning about her life. She is now most assuredly alive, your chateau. Bless you, your family, and all those who have brought you stories about her life, and how she ended up almost gone. I love this series.

I so appreciate what you are doing with your lives. Would that I were younger I would do the same. I can't begin to comprehend the amount of work you have done. Your vision is wonderful. My favorite room is the one where your tour began. I love the llight, airy feel to it and the unfinished walls remind me that this is an ancient building. How beautiful! There is not a room that I don't like, that one is simply my favorite.
I began travelling in France in 1973. The chateaux were there but It never occured to me to buy one and restore it. I was lucky enought to live in Paris for a time, just long enough to learn to love it. I return whenever I can ( not since late 2019 because of covid). I am eager to return any time. My favorite thing to do is rent a car and just drive, discovering the hidden nooks and crannies of the country. How I applaud that you are able to live there and help bring this wonderful chateau back to life.

It really seems like a grand house again with some of the furniture and fittings in place. The chandelier in the grand salon is exquisite and the curtains in the billiard room are beautiful but I think the dining room would have to be my favourite room. I hope the open day goes really well and everyone loves the chateau. Well done for all the work you have all done so far.

Ash, it’s so delightful to see your enthusiasm for the history of the chateau. Terry, you have wonderful taste in the furnishings that you got for the chateau. I especially love the gold/cranberry curtains at the entry (right?) and those two chairs there are to die for. Just beautiful! Job well done, guys. Your love for this place is so touching. Blessings to you both.👌🥰🙏

You did a wonderful job furnishing the rooms. The Grand Salon is my favorite. What I love about the furnishing and their placement, is seeing the ceilings, walls, etc. not finished. I found this to be so beautiful. It is a reminder that even though she is a little rough around the edges, she is still a beautiful grand old lady who has put on some powder, rouge and lipstick to meet her guests. Excellent video.

Love seeing the furniture in the rooms. Don't mind the worn walls. Gives the chateau an authentic bare bones look. It shows the character of the place. Loved hearing about the history of the chateau. It really brings the place to life. I liked the lower floor living room with the red carpet and the room upstairs with the brown earthy tones. Gorgeous!

You’ve polished her up spic and span and decorated beautifully . I love the furniture you have purchased and you must be pleased to see it all spread out giving us all the story you want to tell in each room. The dream is taking shape lads! The collection of furniture is rather glorious, but if I may share a little giggle. I loved when Ash talking about the size of the bathroom and then the view from it, but rather than pan the camera to the fabulous view, Terry has to show the dainty sink and toilet! I laughed aloud. So cute and funny. Still, it's nice to have a glimpse into where you envision the end results. It's so much easier to imagine now. I found myself looking at the wood paneling and already seeing the gleam from after it receives a little TLC.

It all looks fabulous! If you want the colors in the Salon to be cohesive, you could order some red & green with metallic gold velvet yardage & have long drapes sewn. Then use green bullion tie-backs on the drapes. Use the same red & green with gold velvet to make a mantel runner to tie in the colors. Throw pillows in same fabric & have 1 larger pillow in gold fabric. Get a nice red with green rug. Buy red with green & gold vases, gold candle sticks, etc. By using the tri-color fabrics, accessories & large rug, you will make the room appear harmonious & you won't have to remove or re-paint that cool green wood stove.

Lovely! Have you considered a small writing desk in each of the suites? Perhaps under the window in the two entrance halls. Then have custom post cards made with Chateau photos in the drawers of the writing desks. Give guests a spot to do some writing to loved ones back home and perhaps even some journaling.

@2:32 The Billiard Room was so beautiful with the door going out to the beautiful pond. The red/burgundy chairs were absolutely beautiful and the wardrobe was sooo beautiful, I love them!!
It’s funny when I look through Facebook Marketplace I’ve seen antique wardrobes for free or for a bit of money and they’re in gorgeous shape. People don’t realize they own a piece of beautiful history.
@7:33 I love the 400 Suite!! Green and red are so beautiful together. Love the furniture, such a rich colour and so perfect!! The showcase is lovely. I have 2 myself filled with vintage compacts, lipstick and anything else you’d find for women in the 1920’s to 1950’s.
@8:55 400 Suite Bedroom is so perfect for a teen girl of the house. The furniture is so beautiful and the wood grain on the wardrobe is beautiful!! The furniture doesn’t even look like it travelled at all. It looks like you found it there. The bathroom is going to look so peaceful and I love the pedestal sink and I love the idea that the 🛁 point to the window, great way to see the beauty of nature.
@11:01 401 Suite Salon. You’re making it ver hard to pick just one. Your taste in antique furniture is so perfect for a beautiful French Chateau!!
I have pictures of a gorgeous antique Cabinet. I wish I could send you pictures of it. It has the theme of Romeo and Juliet carved into the wood. It’s not mine but my 2nd cousin who passed away recently.
When you and Ash or you and Terry were looking at the papers that people gave you about the Chateau and those dates were incredible!! I loved the tour of the beautiful room but I really was excited to hear about those letters and farm leases!! Ash, your French was spot on. I love the French language. How exciting to hear more and more about the history of your beautiful Chateau!!! Thank you for the tour, I LOVED IT!!😍

You could tie in the red/green with floral decorations, throw pillows, etc. in suite 400. But a solid green or even red wall will overpower the room and close it in. IMO Maybe use 2 tones where the bottom half is neutral and the upper half is red or green or vice versa? I would keep the walls more neutral that ties the theme to the rest of the chateau together for a better cohesive flow. Terry does have a wonderful imagination that is amazing when it becomes reality, so I'm sure he'll find the perfect look for suite 400.
The whole chateau is coming alive with all of your hard work. Your family is the perfect example of perseverance and working together as a whole to make your dreams come true.

The furniture is beautiful and adds so much to a real feel for the chateau. Love the fact the bedrooms with ensuites, have bathrooms that are sympathetic to the style of the chateau. Eventually, the icing on the cake, would be to put cornices on the ceiling and a rosette for a beautiful chandelier in each of the salons and dining room . Carole ,over at chateau dela Ferte,is doing a brilliant job, gold leafing the ceiling mouldings and panel decorations in the salons. But she loves this kind of detail work and it’s very time consuming. All in all, a great job ,Terry, on bringing your vision to fulfillment thus far!

Love the tour and I’m in love with all the furniture. Having furniture in the rooms really makes a difference. All the rooms are exquisite but my favorite is the grande salon because it reminds me of your Christmas celebration last year. Looked magical then and now. So happy you found so historical info for your chateau. How exciting 🤩 Thanks for sharing 😍😘

As beautiful as it looks already, what a tease for what it is going to look like when all the work is done and all the metalware has gotten its proper spit-polish-and-shine. The place is going to glow with restored beauty. How proud you all must be with the progress and prospects for the future. Keep it up!

I am loving suite 401. The layout, the size, the views, and the purple blue furnishings all add to the charm of this part of the chateau. Outstanding work getting everything cleaned up enough to give a tour! The future plans are much easier for people to envision now. Hope you are able to relax a bit and enjoy the open house…👍🏻🥰❣️

Gorgeous! Now I really can't wait for the work to be done. I want to visit!!!! Alas, all in due course. Steady on lads. The château is going to be fabulously luxurious and stunning once all is set and done. All of which requires a marathon, not a sprint......or several million pounds and a work force representative of a hundred trades.
When I sold one of my properties I didn't have enough bed for I bought cheap bed frames pinned silk fabric on them and used boxes cover by a flat sheet covered by a duvet and pillows to set the scene. Although, there were two instances where a child and an adult couple were left unattended. Yup.....as you imagined they crashed through the boxes fully expecting a soft mattress when they leaped. Haha. Oh how I wish it were captured on film. The next time I sold I added ply and a cheap poly duvet topped with the down duvet to better protect the cheeky bastards, the boxes, and the box contents.
    Cheers!

WOW! What y'all have accomplished in bringing Terry's vision to reality. Terry you're gifted in design and making it happen. Ash, your passion for the history of the chateau is refreshing. Tracy, Tony and Jonathan have accomplished so much too, as have the volunteers. Thank you for sharing your vision of restoring Chateau dela LaSalle. 🌺😊

You guys are one of my favorite channels!
I love the chandelier in the Grand salon. Just wait until the walls are painted and Terry completes everything in there it will be perfect. The furniture in the billiard room is gorgeous! And the dining room as well. Can I just say I love Terry's taste on everything! And this Christmas just forget about it everything will be absolutely perfect! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖PS Every room is going to be beautiful! PSS I think this is probably the most beautiful Chateau that seen of all the chateaus I watch. All I do is smile when I watch your channel 😊

What nice to see all the furniture in the rooms. For me the dining room is number one!
I like the chairs the most in the dining room. You are a good collector Terry.
So nice you did find/get those old letters. You must cherrish them Ash.
I don't know who made the flower arrangement but I think they are stunning. The simplisity suits the rooms and the whole building.
Also outside I saw some vine and other leaves decorating. Great idea!

What a nice collection of furniture it goes perfectly where you put it. This was a great idea I had no idea of the potential of this place till you staged it. I hope you’re going to leave it there now and not store it . It makes it more liveable and warm instead of having it all empty. This is a beautiful chateau when you see the furniture laid out it gives you a real perspective. Just love the suites they’re going to be very luxurious when finished. It has so much charm now and we can see the potential. I watched many chateau renovations and I’ve never seen one with apartments like this. For a small size château it has a lot to offer in
accommodations. Well done, great job I’m impressed.👍👏👏🤩
