I was speaking to my husband about this opportunity and he asked me to ask Rob if he does buy it, we would be willing to buy one of the small buildings to refurbish and be a part of the new renovated village.
I would also be intrested in buying one of the buildings to renovate and maybe a second one to open as a bakery/Cafe. I bake breads and am a cook. What a wonderful place.
To us over here in the USA, that’s 12. 1/3 acres and the boys are right, even if it were just empty land, you wouldn’t be able to buy land for $100,039.00 Such-a deal!! I live on 3 acres in North Central Florida and cleared land goes for more than that! I say go for it Rob though I don’t know what your line of business is or your money source. At 70 I look back at my life and sadly there are too many lost opportunities I now wish I’d acted on. I didn’t “Go For It” when my heart wanted to, caution won the day and now I live with my regrets. Always say “What’s the worst that can happen?” and if you can live with whatever that is.. your path is clear. My very best wishes are with you all. 💕🐥💕🐥💕
I’m thinking 10 not so deep pocketed people with $150k in free cash each and the ability to easily spend an additional $150k each over the next 5 - 10 years could make a go of it by forming a partnership if returning it to a village is the goal. As a retired architect and general contractor I would probably approach this project a bit differently than others to do something unique. I have the money, inclination and skill to do it, but at 70 years old, not enough time to enjoy it or finish it without a lot of help. But, I would love to spend the rest of my life there every day working on it none the less. What a great project. Folks forget the only resource we all have that is in short supply ….is time and it takes few prisoners. Count me in if it looks like there will be a group of folks taking the huge project on. Terry should have been an architect but he will train himself to be one in the end anyway.
I love your idea. I'm a small business adviser specializing in food service venues. It could be restored and turned into a vacation or wedding/events destination. With the acreage, a small cider orchard could be planted for an on-site cider mill and bottling facility, a few acres for goats to make cheese, breads baked in the bread oven, and small cottages and a spa and small cafe with formal and wild gardens. Throw in a few RV parking spaces and you're good to go. If a partnership were formed, it would allow for quicker and more beneficial focused restoration and thus, a speedier opening time.
Loved your thought and interest... Sad such an interest should be shelved for want of time (though i can fully relate to it) Let me know if i can help motivate you :)
That’s definitely a huge project to take on. What a wonderful concept of having like minded renovators making it pretty and functional again. Hope it gets the TLC it definitely needs. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Absolutely yes. It's worth saving. I've seen worse and that was saved and now lived in. And to think the gentlenman came to you means that word is getting around. Your reputation is spreading and Lalacelle is back on the map. Well done. Keep up the good work. I hope Rob buys it. Whoever buys it, all the best in bringing the village back to life.
I want to be a part of this. It’s absolutely amazing… to bring a whole village back to life would be incredible! You couldn’t do anything like this in Canada either because it doesn’t exist. The history, the bones of the structures. Amazing!
Oh my gosh what a marvelous wonderland 🤩 the comments show a great deal of enthusiasm and ideas to help whomever signs on purchasing that land. If only I were 30.. yes!!
Bonjour! There is NO DOUBT in my mind that if Lalacelle were near completion Terry & Ashe would have been drawing up a contract then and there! The land - beautiful, the buildings (gulp) defo are a mammoth task but can imagine this fully restored. ROB, you already know you have a LOT of fans on here and wouldn't it be awesome for you to have your own channel (along with the little pig) as you restore a deserving part of French history. Just saying.
Potentially a beautiful place but there's easily a minimum of five years work, probably nearer 10 years. Well worth the asking price of €100,000 but it will cost at least another €1,000,000 to get it into any sort of shape. Whoever buys it will need deep pockets and lots of time.
Wow, as Terry said, "Beautiful and enchanting".....the old stone and brick structures covered in ivy, broken doors and windows with their antique brass handles.... What's not to love about these wonderful old places where generations of families lived, worked, and grew old. It is definitely a mixed feeling of joy for the beauty and sadness for the abandonment of these once thriving homes. Would love to see this property brought back to life once again. True, 100,000 Euros is unbelievable for a property like this. Thank you for sharing.
It is quite eerie sometimes in how one door closes and another opens up with multiple opportunities. Good luck Rob and to those of interest in said opportunities! 🥰👏
I can invision it brought back to life. I won't comment more till I hear someone bought it. Thanks for the tour. You guys got to keep Rob to yourselves.
What a great find! Gosh, I hope Rob will seriously think about this....a village!!! Fixing that up would be an exciting vlog!!!! Thank you for taking us along!
All the best with your decision Rob looks like a few people would love to join you. I love this channel and the family, it has been magic watching the old buildings brought back to life. I have some feedback from my experience of watching the vids... and that is not so many close ups when revealing a room or looking around... some are great for B roll but too many makes me fast forward the vid to the wider view. ❤🙏
So excited for you Rob! Terry & Ash, you two are the most positive and reassuring gentlemen. Anyone would love to just be in your presence. Let’s crack on! Keep us informed on his decision. ❤️ From 🇺🇸
I wish you'd found this property 20 years ago. I'd say as fun as it is to dream, it's basically only good for salvage now. Run, Rob, there are chateaus all over France that would become stunning under your hand and not take 5 years to come to fruition. Love you guys.
Ohhh!!!! If I was younger and had a more adventurous spirit I would be signing on for this. What beautiful buildings and the potential to have a very successful market garden with all the land. Amazing, simply amazing.🇨🇦
Rob, I’m already committed to supporting your UA-cam vlogs about the restoration, and I’d buy you loads of coffees to see you through this undertaking. If you find a couple of like minded investors, it would be quite possible, as you’d share the larger cost of the restoration, and the work load. If someone doesn’t start something here soon, it could be too late.
What an amazing and beautiful project, the possibilities are endless, If a group of people all joined in it could be life changing. Go for it , life is so short🤗
Some of the buildings are in a terrible state but if you can look past the crumbling walls, holes in the ceilings etc. This is an amazing place. 'A hamlet' that with a vision and plenty of very hard work for many years will be a beautiful place. I think Rob is floating in happiness just looking at the buildings. I can see a dream for someone or for 2 or 3 people investing in this. Wishing you all the best of luck whatever you decide to do, I love seeing the restoration work you have done so far. Go for it Rob even Terry his family and Ash are only up the road, you would class them as family now. 💕🇦🇺
A run is a ruin keep your money in your pocket. You have enough dreams to finish in your chateau. Things are changing financially now for everyone in the world. We love what you are doing in your chateau focus on that. Let the village be as it is. No one needs a headache that big. Dont take on a project that will take years and years of your time and lose all your money doing it. Save your tears for joy not sadness and bankruptcy.
LOVE your positivity, Red... ...really encouraging...!!!! Your comment is, mostly, complete nonsense - and in any case, they gave no indication at all that they were even considering buying it - did they!! ..in fact, quite the opposite!!
OMG utterly amazing... the only things you need is a great imagination, over the top work ethic`s and a bottomless pit of ready cash, i do hope Rob get`s the project, all the best Rob
I love seeing buildings, exterior walls, etc. made of stone, it's one thing that we don't have here in the states. Thanks for including us in your exploration of the villiage.
Yes, more that worth saving. Oh guys you can do it if anyone can. Focus and organization, time to get to work now. Wish I was there to help too. Lovely! 🤗❤️👋🏻🧑🦳🌻🙏🏻
Beautiful place which was problably linked to the château. Just a little precision : this group of houses cannot be considered as a "village" in french but a "hameau" (hamlet). A village, is bigger and - generally - has a church or a chapel.
Absolutely amazing!😉 If Rob does proceed with this what a wonderfully, frustrating, exciting, aggravating, enchanting, expensive, amazing adventure it would be. 😍 I'd subscribe!
Wow! How great would it be to renovate a village. Rob if you buy it, you will need a youtube channel so we can come along on the journey. Can't wait to find out if Rob takes on the huge challenge.
OMG - this is SUCH an amazing project! And the price, simply incredible!! This has so much potential and opportunities, it's hard to know where to start, thinking about all of them! I don't think there will be any issue in the owner selling it after this video - great job guys, showcasing the buildings and land! Would be very interested to know if Rob does decide to buy - if he is looking for partners/associates/tenents/etc. It's a huge project to take on by one person 🤗
Just catching up on your videos. The village looks amazing. We have been thinking about a renovation in France for a long time and love watching what you are doing. Sadly we are probably too old to take on such a large project but if Rob is considering it we could think about going in partnership. We would have sufficient funds to get a lot of the work carried out too. Please let us know if this is an option.
OMG that definitely is some project ! It’s such a shame, these beautiful buildings are left so long,to deteriorate! I was feeling overwhelmed just watching,I wondered how Rob was feeling! 🥰💕
It is so nice to see these abandoned historic properties getting a second life in France. I cannot believe how reasonable they are to purchase. Nothing like this is available in Canada for these prices. Wish I was younger .
They are reasonable to purchase because it could take a million to bring the village back to where it needs to be. Taxes alone may be killing the current owner.
So sad how this has been lost to time ... This must have been grand at one time. Amazing property, Sad. The stone work on the building is amazing, so beautiful!
Omg. I have just found your videos. I am binge watching. Obsessed. What a fantastic job and amazing effort and commitment you are making. What an amazing family. I am in aw of your vision and hard work. Can’t wait to catch up and be up to date. So excited 😍
You'll have a beautiful resort when you are finished.... I was already thinking the chateau was too small for your plans! It looks to only fit family guests and maybe two suites. The village will give you more options for those not wanting to camp out on the land around the chateau. Of course, that should put the building of cabins on hold... which should give you more privacy around your homestead too. This will work, but you'll be bringing in more help, right? The British Invasion all over again!
Holy wow, the buildings are big! What a wonderful restoration project that would be; a medieval village of sorts, 19th century maybe. I can picture a bakery and a cider mill and perhaps a livery stable; maybe some goats for lawn care and milk for cheese... Oh why am I one of the dreamers at age 76?! I hope you can get this village, Rob!!
Lots to go at , so many small hamlets not so much a villages are dying I am lucky to live in a small community with 9 houses in our hamlet all occupied
Go for it guys! The possibilities are endless. Just imagine a self reliant village. Livestock, dairy, bakery, organic gardens, butcher, whatever you want to create. Can’t wait to see what you do. 😀🐓🐄🐇🐑🦃🪴🥦🍒🥐🥔🥬🍓🫐 I’ll stop now.❤️
So sad to see the state of the main house. If you have the vision and of course the money this could be spectacular. Looks like a big project that would take years to rebuild. Thank you for sharing.
Rob is such an unassuming fellow, he already has a huge following on this show. If he did buy the village, he would have a flock of volunteers ready and waiting to help, have no fear of that.
What another project of love for someone! If your family doesn't purchase it, I hope someone as caring as you do. I can see a couple of grand formal gardens to have weddings and celebrations fill some of the spaces. If you make it commercial including having an Inn you'll definetly need talented staff to help run it. But it would be worth it having others from around the world sharing and being part of the return to its glory days.
Rob, I truly hoped you’d purchase the village. I live in NYC and I’ve never seen anything like this, except ghost towns, and they’re no comparison. It’s a great price #1 100k for your own village. #2 it’s 12 acres, camp grounds would bring in revenue. Or flowers or veg gardens, create a market in the out buildings. #3 Apple Orchard? Get someone to teach you how to make cider/calvados. More revenue. #4 restore village. Offer tradesman a building to live in and sell goods made from the property. Isn’t the nearest village 15k away? All I see is potential. If that’s not appealing do only Christmas markets. Anyway you look at it, you’d be in the French countryside with a beautiful home, peace and tranquility. If we were capable I’d jump on this. Thank you for a wonderful vlog. I still feel Rob will end up in France, in a chateau or manor house. Wow! This was truly amazing to see. God bless. Be safe. Cheers ♥️🇫🇷🏰🍻🥃
You guys, this is going to be a big task and will be an absolute wonderful place by Christmas time 2024. I can see gift shops, an inn, a restaurant or two. A wine store/beer Coffee Shoppe, a chocolate Shoppe, and a bakery, vegetable and herb gardens. Is there a chapel for weddings? Topiaries, garden shop, How many buildings? A lot of work! I’m excited to see you start. Lots of parking space and a village green. French blue and white and stone, of course. Do you have to register it as a village, legally? Or can it be part of the Whole estate?
Incredible! To think it's just been sitting there for decades. I watched and wondered what it must have looked like when there were people living there. Still looks beautiful tho
Wow that was fun and my back hurts just looking at the work to restore those buildings. Price is enticing but to old to do it now. Teri and Ash have the young vision to see past the rubble at its beauty.
I was speaking to my husband about this opportunity and he asked me to ask Rob if he does buy it, we would be willing to buy one of the small buildings to refurbish and be a part of the new renovated village.
That would be a wonderful idea 😍😍
I would also be intrested in buying one of the buildings to renovate and maybe a second one to open as a bakery/Cafe. I bake breads and am a cook. What a wonderful place.
That is an exciting idea!❣️
Also Rob, I grew up on a farm, I can milk cows and goats to make butter, cheese. Being single, I don't need to convince anyone to go.
I wish I was 30 years younger, I would be in on this so quick. I hope you all can find a way to make this happen.
You both said “absolutely stunning!” At the exact same time. You two are on the same wavelength.
We are 🥰🥰🥰
Buy it, even if you can't start renovating it right away. Buy it!
To us over here in the USA, that’s 12. 1/3 acres and the boys are right, even if it were just empty land, you wouldn’t be able to buy land for $100,039.00 Such-a deal!! carefully picked working work working people who arent travelers or shoppers etc carefully selected hands on working people amiable etc

From a fellow septuagenarian: eloquent sentiment and post.

Sad such an interest should be shelved for want of time (though i can fully relate to it)

This amazing hard working family are just like us working hard to support their lives , they are to be commended!! Support this lovely family !!!!!
OMG I can barely keep from crying at the state of these buildings. What an incredible project!!!!
It is absolutely amazing 😍😍
That village will be magical! So much work, but it is just amazing! It gives me Beauty and the Beast vibes.
It is stunning 🥰🥰
Watched this video again to get another glimpse of the beautiful gray, white and blue wallpaper in one of the rooms of the main house.
There was some beautiful and creative filming in this video; thank you!
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
A once in a lifetime opportunity! Jump! You would regret walking away forever. Best wishes from Michigan.
Oh my gosh what a marvelous wonderland 🤩 the comments show a great deal of enthusiasm and ideas to help whomever signs on purchasing that land. If only I were 30.. yes!!

I’d love to know the history behind this hamlet and why it was abandoned and when.
Potentially a beautiful place but there's easily a minimum of five years work, probably nearer 10 years. Well worth the asking price of €100,000 but it will cost at least another €1,000,000 to get it into any sort of shape. Whoever buys it will need deep pockets and lots of time.
Yes definitely, we said 500k just to get it half sorted, but what a beautiful place 🥰🥰
Wow, as Terry said, "Beautiful and enchanting".....the old stone and brick structures covered in ivy, broken doors and windows with their antique brass handles.... I would be interested in buying this village with Rob and renovating it with him. I speak French and have lots of volunteers who would love to help.
The village is absolutely spectacular! And the video editing! 👏🏼 bravo! Beautifully done! Thanks for taking us on the tour.
It is quite eerie sometimes in how one door closes and another opens up with multiple opportunities. Good luck Rob and to those of interest in said opportunities! 🥰👏
Sunday Is finally here. I Adore the hands of the skilled Carpenter caressing that beautful Door!.
Wow the possibilities are endless, but so much work just to clear it and see exactly what you are up against. It’s fantastic x
It is a amazing project 🥰

Please save this beautiful hamlet.I have never seen such huge corner stones !
Remember, build it and they will come..he’ll! We will come fir a holiday! 👏👏👏💗💗💗
Da braucht es schon großen Mut, Leidenschaft und ein paar Tröpfchen Verrücktheit, um solche Häuser wieder zum Leben zu erwecken.

Hi from Brazil
IT is wonderful!
Great opportunity!
IF I was yonger I world like to have a cottage
That's a lot to sort out. But for the price it is amazing. Ah, to be 25 again.
Yes, more that worth saving. Oh guys you can do it if anyone can. Focus and organization, time to get to work now. Wish I was there to help too. Lovely!
🤗❤️👋🏻🧑🦳🌻🙏🏻
Thank you 🥰
Just needs a little landscaping and ready to move in.
Don’t forget, it also needs a lick of paint and it will be grand. 😂
I wish I was 30 years younger. What an incredible project this will be for the right person!
Beautiful place which was problably linked to the château.
Just a little precision : this group of houses cannot be considered as a "village" in french but a "hameau" (hamlet). A village, is bigger and - generally - has a church or a chapel.

I am here guys! Waiting with bated breath!! Sooooo excited for you!! Go lads! Amazing! Show us!!! 👍👍👍👏👏👍👍👍
Can't wait to see this please up and running 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a beautiful location. It felt like a fairytale place,as though a spell had been cast and it is waiting for a saviour to reawaken it.
Another one of Terry’s “Just” jobs! He is a master visualizer sans doute.
Beautfully overwhelming, thankyou for showing this dreamland!.
Thank you so much 😊

I’ve lived in France and still do at times
They are reasonable to purchase because it could take a million to bring the village back to where it needs to be. Taxes alone may be killing the current owner.
It’s like Sleeping Beauty’s castle - asleep for 100 years and covered with vines🏰
It really is 🥰🥰
Those buildings are right at that edge of no return. You can save then now but it’s going to be a lot of work. I hope Rob can figure it out.
What an interesting vlog. Great for a family. Everyone gets their own property to renovate. I hope Rob gets it. Nice Chap and good skills.

Lads, I am certain many would gift you their time and their trade just to spend time with you all in building the dream! 👍👍👍👍
That is so nice 🙏🥰🥰
I hope things go the way you want Rob however I think you’d need a team of people to help you 😊🇦🇺
A small village to rebuild the village.....a lot to do.
The videography on this episode is top notch! If you asked me for a vote, I think you should buy it!
Hmm, yeah it does need a bit of work but just imagine it all done! Did ya see that door knob, it is beautiful!!
Get it Rob! One life!! Enjoy it doing something you love 😃😃
All you need to whip this hamlet back into shape is several million dollars and a dream! 😆
Christmas 2024??? More like 2034 I would think😮
Buy it Rob you will make it ...BEAUTIFUL xm
An amazing property. Would be great for holiday rentals. If anyone can bring it back it would be Rob.
Wow amazing, beautiful buildings, although a lot a work to restore. It will take a big herd of goats to clear all that overgrowth.
