I'm a auto liability claims adjuster and most insurance companies are using the virtual inspection method now. I get a lot of pushback from people thinking they're doing the job of the estimator when they have to take 3 minutes to send photos through an app on their iPhone. It seems annoying, but with the company I work for the estimate is written within hours of the photos being sent in and the payment is issued immediately, with EFT as a payment option. The initial payment is not just a payoff to get you to go away, we understand that there is a possibility for additional damage as the photos don't capture everything. The top of each estimate has instructions for the body shop to send a supplement to the insurance company for the additional damage. If you're using the at fault party's insurance and they're paying for the rental car, they'll want to keep costs down and will get the secondary inspection handled very quickly. Anyway's love the channel man, take care
Paying $108/mo with Tesla insurance now. Haven’t had to use it but haven’t heard anything negative from those who have. Saving so much money!
Tesla cars cost a fortune to insure in the U.K. parts are so expensive and take so long to turn up that a minor bump ends up costing thousands. Many companies won’t touch Tesla for insurance due to high repair costs. Something needs to change.
I was excited to find we had a Tesla Certified body shop here in Chattanooga. Passenger side front door had to be replaced after being backed into. Took it in and they had the parts in a couple of days. Took a month for the appointment to take it in, but had the car back in 4 days... They are also the Porche Certified shop here as well..
Great
5:35 I see Model 3s a lot in some areas and they don't come in many colors. Maybe not forgettable but very much commonplace in certain (well off) places.
The couple times I was hit by someone I just called my insurance company paid the deductible and waited to be reimbursed. I never talked to the other company and didn't have to wait for the other company to ok the repair. It was worth being out the deductible for a couple weeks to get my car fixed quicker and not have to deal with their insurance company. Of course money isn't so tight for me that being out the deductible causes other problems.
I'm glad your experience worked out, mine not so much. The closest Tesla "Tesla" body shop to me was 2 hours away, they seemed like really nice people, however, they did a poor job after having my Model 3 for 6 weeks. They forgot to connect wiring, body shop dust was all in my car, they scratched panels, dirty finger prints were everywhere, even added paint imperfections. I took it back a few times before I just gave up because each time they made things worse.
Not sure Tesla insurance will be any better than any other insurance company, considering Tesla is using a third party and don't really have their own insurance company.
The front passenger door on my 2017 BMW 5 series was replaced for $3400. $3600 for a rear bumper is ridiculous!
Here's why Liberty Mutual Customer Service is so bad.
You are *not* their customer. You mean nothing to them.
If you go through your insurance, it's a no fault accident you should be able to get full reimbursement, no deductible. It's always worth asking as it saves a ton of time.
$2400 in rental fees and labor? K&M is really good, but that is a ripoff since all they did was swap out a pre-painted part.
Swapping out a bumper is not all they did. Checking all parts for damage. Testing everything to make sure they are in working order. Price of bumper plus shipping. Hours of install of bumper and sensors and more. Keep in mind the Hourly rate of skilled trades is high.
@@i1Tesla even with cost of the part, it should have taken no more than a few hours to install it and test each sensor, but then again they have to pay for that facility and the training investments somehow. That's where the real cost is.
R&R (removal and replacement) should take about an hour of actual time spent.
@@fatwajim exactly
I would love Tesla to start a new business unit that buys back salvaged cars and use the parts for accidents. For example on older cars, the front bumper is different of course. They also can take battery units out and use for refurbishment.
Tesla SC’s do have in house body shops as does mine in Marietta, GA.
But do they deal with insurance companies? Mine said they don't
Tesla in walnut California is a 100% Tesla owned body shop !
I have Tesla Insurance, I save annually $2,500
Question when financing the model y or cybertruck does the bank need the vin before approving the loan thanks
You need the VIN to finalize the paperwork but not to get approved
My bumper was replaced by Tesla when I got it as a cpo. And now it’s branded as “not clean”. Loss in resale value. Bummer. But I got that lower price because of that so. I am good.
Nice Grand National! GNX?
No pushback from insurance on that huge bill from the body shop?
They can't complain because they admitted fault and Tesla has rules about fixing the car
Did you check in on Bob (with the app) while he was in the body shop?
Robert Gamble when my door was getting repainted I tracked him every day:) couldn’t help it. Knew if it was in the body shop versus the main shop. Kinda fun
They turned off data on the car like it was in service. Couldn't see anything. I was scared for Bob
i1Tesla I hope Bob didn’t get any separation anxiety (phantom breaking, slow charging, or locked charge port, etc.). How’s he doing?
$2500...... I was off way off.
Contact Tesla Joy. She has Tesla Insurance. Is Tesla really her first name? 😊
wtf 3600 wow
Well that’s not good judging by the title!
This body shop is terrible and greedy they have to replace the whole bumper because of that little dent just to make money wawwwwwwwww that’s fuck up shame on them I will not recommend these guys to no one that poor lady insurance has to pay over 3 grand for a 5 miles per hour fender bender
No they aren't. According to Tesla specs they had to replace it.
