    Thanks for the birthday wish, I'm 81, and hoping to survive until I can ski some of these wonderful places in your videos. Your runs in Switzerland have been challenging, very interesting terrain, and glorious scenery. This is one place, when there is good snow, I'd love to see you hang in there until you've done all the trails, videos for each run, before you move on.

      Hi Barry, to be skiing at your age is something I admire. Would you like to see more videos on Verbier? Cheers!

    Very cute little run. Definitely something else. I remember doing this run for the first time, in very bad conditions. Zero visibility and I had no idea where to go. Man, that was scary! Went back on my mountain bike last summer and that little snowplow that sits in the corner, to make the track, lives there year-round.

    • @ChasingSnow
      @ChasingSnow  Рік тому +2

      Yes, I assumed the snowplow was a permanent fixture, thanks for confirming. I also did this for the first time many years ago and discovered that Verbier is connected to La Tzoumaz via this run.

    I have been there for 20+ years, it such a nice route. Just enjoying the stunning landscape in a remote part of the ski resort. If you want to skip some of the traversing over the bumpy path you can choose to decent to the right immediatly when you leave the "walled section" around min 5:04, just follow the tracks and you will join the official route after 10 minuts again in the valley near the bridge/river. This way you will be skiing more and skip the long traverse from min 5 to ca. 9. But wouldn't recomment doing this on your own since you leave the official route, and defenitly not if you are there for the first time.

      Thanks for the tip. I did this route again yesterday and will release the video in a couple of days. I would like to try your suggestion but would need someone with me for safety... I think this new video is much better as I'm familiar with the route...

      @@ChasingSnow Sounds good, looking forward to that one t! Enjoy you time up there :) Did you also go to Thyon/Veyzonnaz? you have some great pistes there to; e.g. piste de l'ours (former Fiss worldcupp run), and the black Etherolla (lift 39) is also worth a visit.

    what's the point of this itinerary? most of the route was on narrow roads almost flat and no snow...

    • @ChasingSnow
      @ChasingSnow  6 місяців тому

      That's the thing with long routes, there's always going to be a long flat part while the interesting section is usually at the beginning....

    8 Km seems a bit overrated. I have done many times over the years and I never had the impression that the run is 8 km. Of course you took the longest route which has lots roads or paths not very interesting for skiing like the last part to Tzoumaz is a road but the one is unavoidable. For what it matters, I doubted there is any run long 8 KM in Verbier, perhaps the backside of the Mont-Fort if you go for the longest run... Anyway glad you enjoyed.😇

    • @ChasingSnow
      @ChasingSnow  4 місяці тому

      The GPS data showed this run to be 8km but in more of a straight line, it is about 7.7km as shown in this video ua-cam.com/video/d8Y6iFPXW-4/v-deo.html
      There is a 10km path in Verbier also, as you can see in this video ua-cam.com/video/Fqp39CK8ips/v-deo.html

      There is another that has the same start but I turn left back to Verbier. This one goes straight to La Tzoumaz via Vallon d'Arbi so they are quite different.

    Well, that was a different kind of run, rediish, a sort of piste type really steep black, green, then blue. On the bright side, you had the whole interesting bit to yourself.

    • @ChasingSnow
      @ChasingSnow  Рік тому +1

      Ya, it started with black then yellow Itinerary for most of the way. Snow was a bit heavy in the off-piste sections that day but still good. I like that walled sections, especially when it's empty...

    Hi: It's me again. I wrote a review of your Furrrggsaatahll lap: 'flatter 'n piss on plate'. Gotta say on this vid: Great Terrain! One of the more interesting routes I've seen and the skiing Above all those traverse lines looked like it would be mind-blowing when the line between Fresh and Dangerous was in good proportion. Before covid I was searching Airbnb in Tsoumaz but went to Cham and ValD'i instead.
    Verb is still on the list. Tzoumaz looked cheaper. How is the connection for an 'expert' skier ? ps: Dec18'23 Still a gravel-fest in Whistler.

      Plenty of snow here, I'm not too sure what you are asking. 4 vallees is all connected. La Tzoumas and Verbier are close by gondola, distant by car..

    @martinfey578 10 місяців тому

    Wow that's a really interesting walled section, I've never seen anything like that before it looks stunning. Can I ask where did you learn to ski? Have you got your own skis/boots? I've just paid for our trip to La Plagne in January coming up fast now lol, 2nd time on the ski train but not overnight this year.

    • @ChasingSnow
      @ChasingSnow  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes, the walled part is quite stunning, I love skiing that section. My skiing is pretty much self-taught. Enjoy La Plagne, I should be there later this season. I've caught the snow train a few times, many many years ago, quite convenient...glad it's still going...
