Love this run… haven’t been to Val/Tignes in 10 years but I still remember the burn. In my younger days I did top to bottom non stop but no way I could do that now!
Just back from Tignes skied Glacier from the top one day and Descente the next thought there was little between them on those 2 days although I was a bit worried at first on Descente as literally everyone got off the car and went straight on to Glacier leaving me as the only one to choose Descente. Only my 2nd time in Tignes /Val D’isere after a gap of 20+ years but possibly my best ever ski trip!
The longest run is in L'Alpes D'Huez ,Piste de la Sarenne, french southern Alps, 16 km! And near Val d'Isère, in Les Arcs ,Aiguille Rouge run: 8 km, from 3200m to 1200 m in the valley ( Villarogers)
Nice video. Brings back treasured memories. I skied this run almost 40 years ago with a Sony Walkman (music player) listening to Telegraph Road by Dire Straits. One of the most enjoyable runs of my life. I've just watched your video while playing Telegraph Road alongside and it still fits perfectly!
Looks great ! I have never seen grooming like that in my previous 6-8 trips to Val d Isere/ Tignes. There is another 3 k run called Sache from Aig.Percee 2750 m to 1550 Tignes , 100 % black , good for braking knees ...Wish someone post footage of that beauty.
Been their done that on my last morning, and in brilliant sunshine...so went back and did it again in the afternoon....it near zero vis at top...that wee black off to the side was interesting!
Thank you Ivo for uploading this video, I was suppose to go to Tignes in week 10 this year, but due to Covid the travel was cancelled, so nice to feel the rush via the video, I know the piste like my own pocket!
Nice ski run. I notice they have made significant efforts to farm snow - notice where the machines have created paralel lines in the snow so that when it blows around it gets caught.
Thanks! Yes, this is common thing for all high altitude resorts to preserve snow. This allows to collect more snow for longer season or even summer skiing.
Hi! Thank you for your comment. I mean the continuous run from top to bottom through various pistes. Yes, Génépy is the longest single blue piste (4.5km). Have a nice day!
Good quality video footage and a good safe and competent bit of skiing, really brought back memories of what I've been missing for the last 2 years in my favourite resort! However it might be nicer without the music so that we can hear the skies on the snow as it tells me a lot about how it is particularly on that last descent after the right hand bend that takes you down the line of the chair lift. It does look in great condition all the way down although IMHO you are perhaps going down about an hour early regarding optimum sun conditions which is almost exactly 1200. FYI I've skied the area for the last 30 years or so and that descent down the face of the glacier that finishes at the bottom of the Vanoise lift has changed out of all recognition a real reminder of global warming.
If Tignes/Val Claret has a scent it is Pierre Cardin pour monsieur. They both are born out of the the same french contemporary modernism. I was there when Tignes was oozing with PC.

This is not the longest run but a great video nevertheless. Your video really brought back memories of what I've been missing for the last 5 years at one of my favourite resorts! I love Tignes!
Sorry for being critical. As a long time ski pro I am always watching a skiers technique, you could eliminate your upper body rotation and increase ski performance by not reaching from the shoulder to plant your poles but rather just use wrist and forearm action. Hopefully this will help you will create more angulation (at your waist) instead of banking a straight upright body into the turn with a little stronger outside ski. Keep having fun and try to make some railway tracks in the snow.
Remember not to stop in the middle of a slope, especially if it's a top of a hill. Not only it is annoying, but also dangerous. For instance, those who are fast skiers might bump you. Take care. Otherwise, great video!

매우 멋진 장면 잘 감상했어요~~~
La Sachem from Aiguille Percee to Les Breviers is the longest run in Tignes / Val D’Isere at 10 Kms, not the run from the Grande Motte.
It’s even better if you drop off the back of the Aiguille Percee and ski off piste to Les Breviers down the Vallon de la Sachette
Nice skiing! Thanks for sharing:)

Every time I went up the funicular the final cable car to the top of Grande Motte was always shut due to high winds. Shame, looks amazing here!

How much was the day ticket?
Not that expensive, 53 € per day just for the tignes domain. You have to add 10 € more to ski in Val d'Isère.
Plenty of runs in tigned, would be going some to do them in a day.
Maybe one day when I can ski better then I current do.
