The van breaks down in North America for once!

- We haven't been on the road very long but the van has already broken down! Getting the tow is a challenge, getting it fixed is a challenge. Whew #vanlife USA is so much harder than we remember!
Luckily we meet some great people along the way. We're trying to make the most of this unfortunate weekend!

I remember that one tow you got where you were all inside the van on the back of the truck towing you like the flatbed. I think you were by the salt flats. Bolivia maybe I'm not sure. 😊 I was absolutely terrified for you.

Definitely not cheap, but that's just what has to be done after that kinda mileage -- Spark plugs that are past their time can start to do real damage to modern engines, so glad you're on that as well as the coils and yes, it likely will run much better and smoother -- might even be less thirsty with the new injectors. Just a tip -- if you use Chevron gas, the Techron they add is a very good fuel system cleaner -- I personally try to use that exclusively, hoping to keep my fuel pump alive longer.

Looks like the mechanic was the genuine article. You've had a good run for your money with the injectors.....maybe improved fuel consumption. Having your own loo.......so important! As you know I had one on the RTW MAN truck - makes life so easy.

You were at Promasters only last summer a week after we were preparing our van for South America. We had to replace the bushings bearings and brakes in Panama ( thank you Servicios Carlos for the Renault parts….) and now our fancy Dorman oil cooler has started leaking in Cali. We can still tour while we wait for a new one. Why Kip didn’t replace your plugs and so forth with your high mileage only he knows. I pray he replaced my coils when he did my plugs last summer but I doubt it. At least here we get right into the shop and Colombia is lovely.
Indeed! Colombia has so much variety, mountains, friendly people, and it’s super CHEAP 🤩

Not that you have another manufacturer's fan to compare to, but what are your general thoughts on your Van's reliability? Would you pick the same van again for all your travels? Best of luck to you!
