I play with Ezone 100, but I have to bump up polyester strings to 25 kg (55 pounds) to feel in control and now I'm starting to feel my arm. Could this be a close enough switch to retain other Yonex characteristics, but so I could lower the tensions of strings closer to 23 and feel control?
This one will give you more control and feel, and with the 18x19 pattern you should be able to lower the tension and still find enough control. Troy, TW
Thanks I have 100D .... Can someone please recommend a decent string setup to try and dial this thing in?? ... strings it came with played great but that didn't last long at all as they died after mainly few hard matches
Hello TW, How is the Percept 100D in comparison to Ezone 98 2022, in terms of power, control, feel, depth, plow. These racquets have same weight, balance, swingweight, almost the same stiffness but it seems they play completely different. In terms of power, does the stiffer layup of Yonex Percept 100D compensate for thinner beam in comparison to Yonex Ezone 98 2022? Probably, the string pattern makes the biggest difference between these two... Curious about Your opinion. Regards🙂
Great review TW! If I may ask how do you compare with Head Prestige MP (18x19, 99 head size, 323 sw, and lower RA ratings)?? Curious for your thoughts on that, thanks!
The last Prestige MP that we sold was from the previous generation (2022 Prestiges), and although they have almost the same headsize and same string pattern, I would say this Percept 100D is a bit more user-friendly or maybe forgiving as we tend to say. Slightly easier to access spin and a bit easier energy return, while also being a bit easier to maneuver. The Prestige MP 2022 was a heftier swinging or beefier racquet as we tend to say, and offers a slightly lower energy return but also more plow through power for those who can ramp up the racquet head speed with the higher swingweight. I would also add there is a bit more of that control and feel, classic response with the Prestig MP, however feel is a subjective thing, so to each their own...Troy, TW
The Prince Tour 100P 18x20 provides a bit easier power or energy return, and also a bit easier spin potential or a bit higher launch angle. The Yonex Percept 100D feels slightly more controlled, and also a bit lower of a launch angle. Both are pretty similar in maneuverability. Troy, TW
I think the customization has a lot to do with each individual player's preferences. If I were to customize this 100D, I would probably just start with a leather grip on the handle, and then up in the hoop I would probably go somewhere between 3 to 6 grams of TW tungsten tape (so either one or two strips that come in the a pack) near the 3/9 or 2/10 o'clock regions of the hoop. From there I would see how it feels and maybe make some adjustments based on what I thought from hitting with it. Troy, TW
Thank you! Just a quick question. Why would you add a leather grip? You dont find it whippy enough? I tested it for one week and it feels very whippy, especially for a 100 racquet.
@@highflying19 i personally owned a tfight 305 but the non iso versoin but it still maintained the 18x19. the main difference besides the headsize is the balance and the swingweight. the percept according to tw's chart is saying that the 100d is 6pts head light compared to the isos 3pts so correct me if im wrong, the percept would be more balanced towards the handle. the swingweight comparison of sw is 318 and 338 respectively. so put two and two together the percept is gonna be faster coming around the ball and feels less heavy comparative to the tfight. and having tested older gens of both racquets, you will notice the difference in sw the most
Hey tennis warehouse - I played with the 2021 VCORE Pro 100 during my last year of college. didn't like it as much as Speed MP but easier on wrist. How does this new one feel? My biggest issue with the 2021 VCORE Pro 100 was that it was so muted compared to Speed MP. Power-control ratio was absolutely money but feel not great. Did they improve the connection a little bit with this Percept?
@@LarzB No way. Gravity pro is massive compared to this. I just hit with it and it’s pretty easy to swing and volley with. The feel is better than the ezone imo and I got plenty of spin. Had it demoed with PTP. Felt comfortable. More interested in the 100 though since similar spec to my gravity mp
@@LarzB I see what you mean but just disagree because the unstrung and swingweight totally different. Gravity pro and this two different leagues. This is not far off from mp either

I will have to give this one some more court time, as I was pretty busy hitting the three 97's (97,97D,97H). I have been recently hitting with the 97 customized with a leather grip and some head weight, and been liking that a lot. That said, this 100D might be a fun one to customize with, so if I can get a little time on this 100D I will try and update you. Troy, TW

How big of a diference is it to the regular 100? Obviously more control oriented and lower launch angle. But is it drastic?
Much more forgiving but less launch angle
@@akbarberlian the 100D is more forgiving than 100? Sounds counter intuitive

Just looking gave me a impression it is a control oriented racket. How similar with vcore pro, you guys think?
It should be very similar… Aparently slightly stiffer for a better feel
Does the solinco buttcap weight module fit on these?
Hello TW,
How would you compare this frame to the Prince Tour 100p 18x20 305 gram?
Kind regards,
Vince

@ 0.21 "Unstrung weight 310g" - this is incorrect, the unstrung weight is 305g
Can you compare this to Fx tour 500
In the graphics it says its 310g unstrung but the official specs are 305g
Good catch, it is supposed to be 305 grams unstrung. TW Staff
I was here thinking was gauge string is that for it to be 10g only

The servo filter is much more direct feel than VDM in the vcore pro. I would recommend demoing this frame or the new 100!!

I like the trend. 12+ ounces and 330 sw? Must be pretty headlight. I notice that the review crew for this was the people that like a lot of mass.
Its 11.3oz 318sw - you must be talking about about a different racquet from this line
