  • The heaviest, most stable member of the Percept family is here, check it out now: www.tennis-war...
    Yonex updates one of its most stable player's racquets with better feel and new name. Called the Percept 97H, this racquet combines a 12+ ounce strung weight with a flexible 21mm beam and a 97in² head. In addition to giving advanced players outstanding control on full cuts, the Percept 97H packs a beefy 325+ swingweight, making it great for redirecting the pace of a big hitter or driving the ball through the court. It also feels very solid on volleys where you will find enough touch to drop the ball on a dime. Notable features include an elongated shaft to enhance pocketing, flexibility and control, along with a stiffer racquet face for extra stability and power. This racquet also features a Servo Filter which utilizes a thin elastic layer in the shaft to filter out harsh vibrations. Similar to its predecessor, this racquet's graphite layup is enhanced by 2G-NAMD Flex Force, a material technology that enables the frame to flex optimally upon impact. Ultimately, this update is a must demo for experienced players looking to hit a heavy ball. The outstanding feel is a nice bonus.

    Hey Michelle, how does the 97H compare to the RF97, I notice they both have the same swingweight and both weigh over 12 ounces, is this frame simply a re-packaged version of the Yonex VCORE PRO 97H 330?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +2

      Michelle is out for a couple of days, but in the meantime the main difference for me is the flex of the frames. With this Percept 97H there is a bit softer feel and I would say more arm comfort overall, and with the RF97 a firmer, crisper feel that makes it rock-solid and stable, but not the most arm-friendly. I would also say on average I do notice the 10 gram difference in the average frame weight, so just a bit easier for me to swing over time with the Percept 97H. That said when it comes to maneuverability, whether it is the 97H or RF97 the swingweight can fluctuate in a given batch of racquets, so hard to say the exact maneuverability for a given racquet unless you get the racquet spec'd, like with our MRT racquet services. Hope that helps, Troy TW

      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +1

      @@prophetmargin7497 -- You don't have to buy two frames, but that is the cheapest option, two frames that are matched in spec as close as possible but with no requests in spec; the racquets will be matched but at a random set of specs within the batch. You can also use the service for one frame, and make a request like a certain target swingweight, but it is a higher fee for that type of request. For more info give our racquet experts a call and they can go into details or place an order (1-800-799-9230). Troy, TW

    Hi, compared to the old 330 model, this racket has a decidedly lower swingweight, is it less demanding and faster?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  11 місяців тому

      I would say yes, based on the racquets that we playtested it felt easier to wield and a little less demanding in terms of maneuverability. I will say that the majority of that comes down to the swingweight, currently I have a couple of our test frames of the Percept 97H that are right at about 330/331 swingweight, with a full bed of poly 1.25mm. That said, in a given batch of racquets the swingweight can and will likely fluctuate, which is why we offer our racquet matching and custom services. I recall hitting with a VCORE Pro 97H (2021) that had a swingweight at about 330 strung and that felt pretty maneuverable compared to some of our test racquets that were in the upper 330 range. Hi TW team. Currently using the Pro staff 97 v14 and how does this compare? I was using the Gravity Pro but hated it on my forehand as felt like I couldn't swing it through quick enough. The pro staff is much better in this area and I'm liking it but feel like I could handle a little more weight to gain stability and plow through. Do you think the Percept 97H would be a good choice for me? I've used both the previous Vcore pro 97 330g versions and found the last one too much to handle but the the 2019 which was the HG I found just about manageable and actually quite liked it. Is the Percept 97H's swing weight more like the latest Vcore pro 97H or the 2019 Vcore pro 97HG? I also have a Head Pro tour 2.0 which I find manageable weight wise and actually really like but just can't handle the 95 sq head size and 18x20 string pattern so again thinking the Percept 97H is the ideal choice for me as long as the swing weight is manageable. As always thanks for your help.

      IMO you'll like this. The percept 97H and the gravity pro are my two racquets in my bag right now and I had similar problems. I added 20 grams to the handle of the gravity and it felt better. This is really headlight (8 points!) and everyone who used it says it's super maneuverable. You'll smash balls with it.

      I think that with the swingweight spec in general it is really hard to not have a decent amount of fluctuation. We can't really guarantee anything at the moment, without having the stock in our warehouse yet, but I think it will be likely that there will be some frames that will be in the high 330's strung (with like a 1.25 or 1.30 poly). Hi im currently using yonex RD8 a very old model for years already with a 16x19 string pattern. And i want to update it to percept. I am torn between 97d and 97h. I want 97h since it has the same string pattern to my rd8 but im worried that it might be too heavy for me. And as for the 97d the weight is ideal but its string pattern is 18x20. Will that make a big difference from my current rd8 racket if i switch. Your suggestions would greatly help.

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  4 місяці тому +2

      I think in terms of weight, you are right in that the 97D feels pretty nice; I think in my review I mentioned it felt like an extension of my arm. However not only the weight but the swingweight can play a big part, I know some of the testers mentioned that the 97D swung with a lot of heft, because I believe we had a test racquet with a high swingweight. So if possible I recommend using something like our MRT services and maybe find the lowest swingweight in a batch or maybe something close to a target spec. I have a couple of 97H's that have the swingweights matched at about 330/331, and I like how those maneuver, although I could see how they could get a bit cumbersome over a long period of time. Troy, TW

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  4 місяці тому +2

      To add to that, I do prefer the more open pattern of the 97H. A bit higher launch angle, easier access to spin. So for me I try to make the weight of the 97H work, and I think the swingweight helps with that. Troy, TW

    • @carloamistoso
      @carloamistoso 4 місяці тому +2

      I guess i may have to stick to 97h since my current rd8 racket is on the same string pattern and quite heavy also at 320 grams (strung) switching to an 18x20 pattern might be a big adjustment to me.
      Also as another option 97 might be good choice since i can add up weight on it. 😊
      Thank you! Appreciate your inputs! 😊

      What are you currently playing with, or what have you used mostly over your tennis years? The Percept line offers a lot of feel, comfort, and great control and precision. The EZONE line provides easier power, and is pretty forgiving, but not quite as much feel for the ball, being that the Percept has that more thinner classic type of beam design. Troy, TW

    Hi TW, was thinking about switching from
    Head to a Yonex, was thinking about switching to the Vcores before but decided to stick with Head line. Currently using a head graphene prestige 360 mid with a leather grip, been using the prestige line for years now, love the control and spin due to the 16x19 string pattern but looking for a little bit more free power, (have experimented with string and tension) what would you recommend for a base liner who likes to be aggressive? Do play a lot of doubles so volleys would also be another factor to think about, was thinking about the 97H but also thinking about the 97D with the 18x20 string pattern. Just in a bit of dilemma.

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +3

      Yeah that is sort of a tough one, I like them both a lot, could likely use either and be pretty happy. However after testing all three Percept 97's (97,97D,97H) I love the 97D in stock form, the weight of it feels just about perfect like an extension of my arm. That said, I really do prefer the 16x19 pattern on the 97 and 97H. So the more I play with the 97H it feels better as far as weight, but I have also tried the 97 with added weight and I am really enjoying that right now, as I was able to put a leather grip on it without it kicking up the weight too much, and some head weight to increase the swingweight. So I might be on the side of the 97D if you could adjust to the 18x20 pattern, or possible the 97 310 with customization, but all that said it is hard to say what will feel best to you until trying them out. Troy, TW
