Hey Kate it can be quite damp sleeping on a beach but you had all the right equipment. In my day we had really simple stuff like a billy and enamel cups, tarpaulins and Vegemite and crackers. Nice to see another generation getting out there and educating people not to be afraid of what is really quite natural and the land that looks after us.
Thanks mate. Yes we are quite spoilt these days with all the ultralight gear. I’d imagine your pack would have been a bit heavier than mine. Thanks for watching. Love the comment.
What magnificent coastline. Thanks for taking us along with you, Kate. Last weekend I went for my first overnight backpack hike since I was a teenager (I'm 59). You have inspired me.
That's so cool! I only discovered overnight backpacking, as something that I actually loved to do, back in 2014... I'm 60 now, and still really love going on overnight backpacks. Am also inspired by Kate and others like Scotty (Gone Walk About).
@@KateGrarock it wasn't a very long hike - 7kms to camping ground, set up, explore area and hike out the next day, but I was really happy with how I managed and it gave me confidence to do it again. Hike was on French Island in Westernport Bay, Victoria
Thanks so much mate. Means a lot. Was a cracker of a sunrise. Hope you are well. I’m planning a hike with Laura soon if you wanna get the trio back together
I remember, many moons ago, when we were teenagers, we'd pile into a couple of cars and go camp on the beach. Swimming during the day, fires at night, that's how we'd cook, enjoying the night sky stars and all back to basics. And certainly no parents in sight. We felt safe, and we were. This video brought back those memories in spades. Thanks for sharing. Cheers 🏕😁
Thanks Kate for your work and reminding me about my heart place on the South Coast. Always refreshes me there. You bring the sense of place in your pieces so we’ll. Congratulations to you and your family. Travel safe and well. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Ps can I just say I think your filming and editing have really been banging this time! I mean, your vids are always great but this one seemed especially fancy! 😜
You have a brilliant channel here Kate. Came for the "gear" talks. Subscribing for the adventures, the nudie swims, and your charming Australian banter! Lovely musical segment near the end of this video. Your "old school" video production makes for a truly enjoyable watch.
Haha thanks mate. Got a new vid coming out tomorrow. Weather in oz has been a bit rough but hopefully I can sneak in a few more adventures this summer. Cheers
I grew up in a beachside town and sometimes slept on the beach beside a campfire with mates even though home was only a kilometre or two away, so this video really resonated with those experiences.
Great video Kate really amazing Can’t wait until end of April when I get to go and do some exploring on South Coast NSW you did a great job highlighting what a beautiful part of the country it is
Fantastic video and gorgeous scenery / footage. I grew up holidaying on the south coast, so this video has given me a lit bit of an ache to go back and visit again. Really enjoyable watch.
Ripper video! As always inspiring me to get out there (when I stop being injured)! It doesn't have to fancy, especially if you luck in with such stunning weather 💚
Gorgeous video Kate. Loved that sunrise footage. What can we do to help get the Sydney to Mallacoota track happening? I imagine lots of small communities along the coast would love the passing hiker trade! Enjoy that bub as well and give Lupo some extra pats for his change in status, within the family! Cheers
Hi Fiona thanks a lot. There is slow movement on the trail. I believe each local council is putting their segments together. There is a good website for the full trail. But will be interesting to see if it gets taken over and packaged up. Thanks re bub and Lupo. We are down the coast now so Lupo is loving the beach time. Hope you and your people are doing well. Thanks again for your support.
This is one of my favourites 😍 Your photography/filming is great. Love the tip on the dryer lint. I normally use cotton buds in vaso. But totally up for trying this.. I have to ask.... is that a Powerful Owl feather in your hat?
Hi Kate, I noticed in your videos you often drink a protein shake the night before to aid recovery. Could you please tell me what it's called? I'm looking for something similar. Thanks!
Always a good day when we get a new Kate video!
Thanks so much mate. Puts a smile on my face.
CONGRATS on the arrival of the little one!
Thanks so much it so bloody cool

I really felt peacefulness and solitude of this one Kate. Just Beautiful ❤️
Thanks so much mate. It was such a fun camp
What a ripper experience Kate! Reminds me of our south west coast here in WA a bit.
Ps can I just say I think your filming and editing have really been banging this time! I mean, your vids are always great but this one seemed especially fancy! 😜
Cheers mate. Absolutely. I did the cape to cape a few years back. It’s an amazing place to hike. Wish it was a bit closer. Cheers
Thanks so much. I’m learning and trying hard to get better so it’s lovely that you noticed. Cheers
Awesome. Watching the sunrise and loved the camera angles. As the sun was coming up a Beatles song started playing in my head. "Here comes the sun". 😃
Cheers mate. Totally I get that song in my head most mornings. Cheers

Cheers Kate, great video. I had a beer there myself a 18months / couple of years ago , the Hermit shack was only 4 posts and top rails then. 👍🍺
Omg amazing that’s so cool hey. Maybe next time it will be a full hut with a kitchen. Thanks for your support
Love it! I still think you're mad for cowboy camping in Oz... but hey... you do you 😉
Another great overnighter, thanks Kate 👍
Haha. At least nothing is going to eat me in my sleep.
Haha... well, nothing big anyway... what about the hoards of mozzies, spiders and ants all taking a bite 😉
@@AmyOutdoors haha touch wood I’ve never had any issues.

I have to ask.... is that a Powerful Owl feather in your hat?
Thanks so much! 😊 this one was really special for me. My feathers were a bush stone curlew and kookaburra 😀😀
Great little adventure on the coast and looks like it was a magic spot there. What was the verdict on the cowboy camp on the beach?
thanks mate - it was so nice, I was happy i looked at the tide charts though or I would have worried a little about getting wet. haha
Kate, which episode of Ockham’s razor features you? Off and on I listen to the shows.
Oh so cool. Ummm I can’t remember but just Google fire hope and healing. It’s from 29 March 2020. Thanks
Beautiful video Kate - loved those dawn colours, and as always makes me want to go for a barefoot walk 😄
Thanks heaps mate. It was so special. Hope you get out and about soon. 😀

Radix Nutrition make a good one I add milk powder sometime to make extra milky: bit.ly/33VgynV
Or musashi from the chemist is good I like vanilla
Fantastic place and just great to have it for your own.
Congratulation to the kiddy's birth 😀
Thanks so much mate. Can’t wait to hike with her too.
UA-cam keeps removing my “like” after every advert.
Oh weird. Thanks for the comment though
What a great way to recharge your emotional battery!
