    I have one in blue 40mm. My daily watch. Amazing value for money. Don't forget that this line is made of 904l steel, which ir totally different, specially when talking about polished watches, as 904l steel tends to be lighter toned and more "polishable" than 316l steel.

    As an owner of a Ball watch, I very much like their style. However, they lose a huge amount of value on the used market compared to their cost new. So, if you buy one, make sure you love it and will want to keep it forever!

    I recently saw this model at the AD, and I was amazed by how well they look in person and the build quality. Even though im not a huge fan of H link bracelets (mostly aesthetically and completely subjective), it is hard to argue the value Ball watches offer. When I compared this piece with others in this price range, Ball was on another level quality wise. I would say built quality close to that of Tudor.

    • @ryanjofre
      @ryanjofre 10 місяців тому

      Even though it “only” has a slightly worked ETA calibre, I’d be willing to bet the farm that these Balls have less returns out of a given 1000 watches produced than Tudor! Ball makes truly in house calibres on their high end watches.
      I know plenty of people dislike butterfly clasps but I love them. I’m personally a fan of the H-links.
      Also, people will criticize the the fact that Ball is owned by a Hong Kong conglomerate! We live in a world of corporations & bullshit! Even “Swiss made” only has to have like 60% Swiss parts.
      These Ball watches with Tritium tubes are extremely impressive.

    After watching some of Teddy’s previous Ball reviews I got the Engineer III Marvelight Caring edition. I’m a biochemist and really appreciated the anti-magnetism, screw down crown, and 904L steal when I’m in my lab and the colorful tritium tubes from a purely playful scientific perspective! These two are now on my list to look at in the AD at some point. I've pondered a couple of Ball watches but so far in the models that I've looked at there has been something that has didn't quite work for, I'll not go into the details just good watches but not for me at the time of viewing. Personal taste I guess. One of these two might just cause me to scratch that itch. From the video I'm leaning towards the red dial with what looks like drilled minute markers, the micro tube at '3' and without the 1000 Gauss text.

    Ball Watch is now owned by Asia Commercial Holdings Limited in Hong Kong, but I just want to chime in and deflect any suggestion that Ball is now a "Cheap Chinese" brand. ACH owns 7 watch outlets in China, as well as the two watch companies mentioned. Their annual revenue in 2021 was USD$148m, so this is not a "chump change" outfit. Swiss watches are a high status symbol in China so we can expect good things to happen with Ball as their sales increase into this market. High sales means high investment in new tooling and designs. "Swiss made" allows a high proportion of the components to be made outside of Switzerland and whether the manufacturing is in La Locle or Hong Kong makes no difference, as long as the quality is maintained. And there is a huge financial incentive for that to happen. I have the Green dial Marvelight. It's a beautiful watch. The same quality and good looks as a Rolex for a lot less.
