Your enthusiasm for watches is most refreshing. You take me back to when I first began collecting. So many of the UA-cam reviewers are just snobs who are full of themselves. You asked what we would like to see in a future video, Anonimo. I am a big fan of the brand.
Adam... I'm a CdM/Newport local born and raised. Love the work you did with Michael, entertaining. Thanks for making me aware of MyWatch. Drive by there several times a week and had no idea they were there. Added a Ball (Trainmaster Cannonball II in white, LE of 1000) 1.5 years ago and grabbed it for 50% off in NY during the pandemic. Ball makes a fantastic watch for the price. The finish and quality are on par or better than other pieces I have like the Oris Aquis Calibre 400, Tag Carrera 16, and even a Rolex Explorer II, and others in the 2-5K range.
I am SO glad someone finally did a review on this Brand. They are high end, use the SAME materials as any other high end brand. Also, who STILL makes pocket watches? They do, and they custom engrave it on the back for free. I don't even think the younger generation knows what a pocket watch is. If you want that special gift for someone older, Ball has it. Thanks Adam!!!
Admittedly I only have a (Quartz) pocket watch because it's a replica of one from the Anime "Full Metal Alchemist", but now with my recent fascination in mechanical watches I really want to get a nice little pocket watvh to use as a desk clock or a novelty to occasionally wear just to enjoy the "break" from modern expectations. My means are limited though so in the near term it'll probably only be a cheaper Chinese "skeletal/open face" pocket watch just to enjoy the mechanics of it, who knows though, might spiral out to the point I can eventually look at getting a Ball Pocket Watch
@@ScoobieDoobie197474 I may be changing my mind. Their latest email offered all their color combinations for the MARINE Roadmaster GMT but now called the PILOT. If I bought a limited edition of 1k and now the exact same timepiece is being offered, that is a real issue. Rolex never ever offers the same thing with a different name, not to mention, when they discontinue one, the old ones go way up in value. No wonder this brand doesn't grow. Not a quality issue, but a horrible marketing strategy.
Thank you for this video, i needed the distraction. I had to put down my K9 Ike (belgian malinois) yesterday. He was almost 13years. I miss him so much.
The large second hand is exclusively for the chronograph. Since there is no other indicator for seconds (only 2 sub-dials) the rotating ball shows the watch is running. It does not indicate a certain number of seconds, it just assures you the movement is running.
Although the saying originated in baseball. Being “On the ball” always reminds me of the accurate time keeping of ball watches. Engineered through complete necessity. Great history.
Great to see Ball watches featured here - a very well respected brand by enthusiasts. Lolz at those comparing to Tissot. Awesome content, since you're not familiar with Longines I suggest checking them out next. Thanks Adam!
I recently purchased a 40mm Engineer Marvelite 3 (Caring Edition) multi coloured. Very well built, definitely a bit out there but adds a point of difference to my other watches. The Tritium Gas Tubes are amazing. Like nothing else.
Gorgeous watches! First time I heard about Ball was from one of Teddy Baldassarre's videos. Great video as alway Adam, showcased a lot of the different watches Ball has to offer. Saw a Raymond Weil post in the back, would love to see you do a video about that brand.
love the fireman enterprise. was looking into adding a new watch to the collection. Ball was one of the brands I was researching. Can't wait for the discount.
I own the Fireman Enterprise in black and the Engineer III King 43mm in blue. My favorite of the two is the Fireman. It’s very thin and wears great on my 7.5 to 7 3/4” wrist. These are great watches.
I have three ball watches. The best in that price range. My core collection is those 3 watch. 1 Engineer iii marvelight blue, 1 trainmaster 135th anniversary in white enamel, 1 engineer iii legend ii black. amazing quality for the price. The feel, the weight is in there. The bracelet has grown on me. And the way it captures and plays with the light... amazing. But I am more fan of their more conservative designs.
Nearly bought a Ball recently, found it a bit overpriced if I'm honest and went for something else. The Ball Engineer with the blue face is absolute fire though
Forget the watches for a minute, look at the yellow VW "Thing" parked outside of the shop. Wow, the WW-2 Kuebel Wagen lives on! Okay, now back to the cool Ball watches...--Old Guy
I've ordered a ball AeroGMT II pepsi 42mm, I've also ordered a g shock MRG-G2000R-1ADR, i know your a g shock fan, i can only keep one, which one should i keep?
Ball watches are the best. I own several of them. I love the tritium tubes. Just make sure you get the t100 or just t vs the t25 tritium tubes since the t100 are much brighter at night.
Great video, was hoping you'd do one on the Ball watches after the previous one where you noticed them...nearly bought one a couple of times & a friend has one....The ltd edition, I'm on it now! lol 👍✌🤙👌🤘🖖
Love the watches. You should add at least one Tonino Lamborghini watch to your collection. I have one that I should replace as I wore it too much and it is in need of a much needed tune up. Great watches with a nice feel to them Mine is a 38mm casing though I prefer a 42. You might like them!
Must admit I never heard of Ball watches but they look very well built and very cost effective when compared to other auto/mechanical watched and I know you compared them to Seiko but there is no comparison as the Ball watches are better finished and mechanical
Ball is in the same league as Hamilton in my opinion. Very high grade tool watches. I have a 1972 Ball trainmaster automatic that my Father bought new. He wore it at work, he was a conductor for Southern RR. It is still running now, but stays in the box most of the time because they need cleaning and oiling. I love it for sentimental reasons.
It's a simple but very clever addition to a chronographe timepiece, I can't help but admire it and wonder how many lives might have been saves by such a simple system
Like the story about the Railroad standard time was interesting. Don't own any Ball watches yet but I'm sure I will in the future. I did however just a few days ago order the new Panzera Time Master Chrono Mk1 that I won't see until this coming August. Adam, your Panzera A45D with the yellow strap actually got me interested in the Panzera's.
I have the sled driver on the rubber strap. Very nice watch, although it's a bit of a brick, you certainly know when you're wearing it! Would be interested to hear from anyone else who has one of these, and what their thoughts are 👍🏻
@@AdamSwords Hell yeah man thanks for doing the video I have been looking at that "cheaper" Ball on the video for the last week or two seeing this video with the discount made me go for it
Maybe you should go there with Producer Michael sometime. Definitely a good good video. Personally me I'm a Walmart/Amazon/wish store kinda of guy when comes to watches. I personally like finding cheap watches that are under $100.00. That look nice that you can't tell it's cheap watch. Which when get enough subs to my channel. I thought about doing a video about how look good without a whole lot money basically how dress to impress on small budget. Definitely enjoyed watching you and Michael watch video's definitely got me more into watches then what I used to be.
This seller just forgot to talk about the anti-magnetic of the watches, the 904 L stainless steel, 5000 to 7500 Gs of shock resistance... This is the best quality/price brand of the world.
Like all other early American watch companies, they all sold out to foreign entities, so when you say this company has heritage and has been around for 140yrs...No. The name has been around for 140yrs, the company that is producing these merely owns and uses the name. The heritage of the current Ball watch is basically the heritage of Swatch.
Seems like a lot of it can be traced back to the Quartz Crisis, the amount of collateral damage that happened and the companies like Swatch that capitalized on it. It's a shame no one at the time in the US though to try to preserve the US watch industry, or most genuine US industry really...
You may not have heard much about them because historically they have always been eclipsed by Hamilton. Hamilton held most of the market share for railroad watches and was better known as the "gold standard" American watchmaker. Hamilton also took most of the limelight in the 20th century. Professional and military watches (aeronautical watches/clocks, military watches, marine chronometers etc.) were traditionally made by specialists in Switzerland and Germany (there were a few English and French but they didn't have the same scale) - which meant the US lost access to supply when WW2 started. Hamilton then sucked up all the of the Government contracts.

I’m sorry :(
Love the Fireman version as you did. I emailed with the info. Looking forward to a discount and a potential new watch. Thank you, Adam and MyWatchST.

The dot is a running seconds. To indicate the watch is working when the chrono isn’t, because there isn’t a seconds subdial.
Thank you!
The large second hand is exclusively for the chronograph. Since there is no other indicator for seconds (only 2 sub-dials) the rotating ball shows the watch is running. It does not indicate a certain number of seconds, it just assures you the movement is running.
