Very underrated, record companies did not want to sign her , because they felt they could not promote her. Saw them at the pyramid club back in the 90s . So good.
I had been in contact with Mark Barrett, the guitarist of Q Lazzarus. But unfortunately he died in 2008. Q Lazzarus did a whole album in westcoast music style but was never released. And the members splitted up after the record company ripped them off. Mark Barrett joined INERTIA (electro industrial band from england) and did lots of songs with them.
I never even knew she had a B-Side that she released until now. Absolutely unfathomable that such an incredible voice could be so hidden away. Much love to you Diane Luckey.
She is now a bus driver in Staten Island. There is a UA-cam video on it, even a photo of her from now. She says she doesn’t want to make music or even do interviews, she said the music industry is a scary place.

Done my research on the band and found out a bit of information from a very good friend of William Garvey who was a member of the band and apparently Q Lazzarus is presumed to be dead as Mr Garvey (RIP) had not heard from her for many years before his death. Very sad to think that such a talented group of musicians received such little recognition and went on to die so young :( Still it isn't known for certain where Q is :/ Whatever music of theirs is on UA-cam is very likely the only you will ever hear by them, so please enjoy it and please don't forget the band.

Someone should contact a producer or Netflix and have them do a an investigative documentary on the music and the mystery of Lazzarus Q. Maybe they can find her or someone who knows what happened to her.

Eva Aridjis is producing a documentary that as someone mentioned is coming out in 2023. It will be called "The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus." Eva met Diane Luckey (Q Lazzarus) when Diane was operating a car service in 2019 and the two agreed to do a documentary on her life.

I've done my own bit of research on and off again as to what happened to her and the band, I do know for a fact that she is presumably still alive due to the references in print as recent as 2009 and collecting royalties (how scant they must be now), the truth is probably a bit more boring, she probably cut the tracks and then just decided not to do music, its happened to a lot of people. She was crazy talented though, i can only imagine how famous she could have become, her voice is fucking amazing, which is something i almost never say because vocals arent my thing.
