@ChadTheDragonLord May be for you. but not for me. Like I said for me Kanami is the BEST guitar player in the world, means she is better than anybody!!!
@ChadTheDragonLord Why different? This is the same for me. She is my favorite guitar player in the world, it means she is the best FOR ME. The same meaning.
@ A lot of people differentiate between the terms "favorite" and "best," with the latter implying the matter is able to be decided objectively (while "favorite" is clearly subjective). To be blunt, most folks in these comments aren't qualified to judge who's technically better, at least at the high level players like Kanami or Sakura (etc.) operate at. You're using "best" a bit differently, but that's cool!
miyako playing 'today is the day' - one of the most precise and clean displays of sweep picking i've seen. the maestro at work. i could watch her for hours
I'm always biased towards M&M, but for female single lead guitar players I'd say Chakki (Saki) is still my Empress. It's her flair... she plays live concerts like the guitar heroes of the old. Guitar and player as one entity. Style and substance amped to the max. Hal-Ca is like a younger Saki.
Li-sa-X (KOIAI), Sally (Mellows), Ayari & Reoto (PaleNeØ), Sakura (Hagane), Mayto (Mana Diagram), Captain Mina (Fate Gear), Ayumi & Moe (Bridear), Erika (Little Lilith) ... sure one can't include anyone, but they are all very good.
Guitar playing is not just about who shreds faster... Kanami's playing is very original, it's a new approach to the guitar, that's why she's the best in my opinion.
Agree that is why 2:36 to 3:52 is the best sounding of the samples on this video. Not just shredding for the sake of shredding, but actual melodies with emotions and thought behind the notes.
@@ChadTheDragonLord “With emotions” Personally, I never agreed with the “Midori shred, Miyako feel” Wolfpack nonsense. In fact, I’m going to say that Midori can do feel better than Miyako as well (when she is given the opportunity). Look at Miyako’s face here, and detect the level of emotion in her playing (feels robotic to some degree), then contrast that to Midori here: ua-cam.com/video/F2UpP9LqJdk/v-deo.htmlm38s Also you should’ve asked him: in what way is Kanami’s playing a new approach to the use of guitar? In other words: what does Kanami do, that other guitarists don’t? He really needs to elaborate/substantiate his claim.
Sure, she has the quantity tht spits out like rapid fire but missing the 'target' everytime.HAL-CA on the other hand has the quality tht speaks VOLUMES!
@@IMetalHead777I agree Hal-Ca is better than Miyako. But to say that Miyako "misses the target every time" is flat out wrong, rude, and disrespectful. Clearly you aren't objective which makes your comments worthless.
Kanami's solos are emotionally very effective and significant, but technically among these examples none come close to Miyako, who also has the most beautiful composition.
@@allanmoger1838 I’m learning that people just pick their favorites, declaring that others don’t “come close”, and in this case, he is saying Midori doesn’t come close to Miyako, which is ridiculous. Yes, I agree that Saki is good too. I think if we can put our favorites aside, and just go by technical proficiency, names like Li-sa-X and Hal-ca are required for every best-guitarist list, whether people like them or not. Even if all the comments under this video mentioning Hal-ca are ONLY doing so because she’s a favorite of theirs, she should still be put on a best list because she is ACTUALLY one of the best.
@ the list is a talking point, I just think it’s funny people seem to have one favorite they put on a pedestal. Personally, I think Midori is every bit as good as Miyako, and yes, both Hal-ca and Li-Sa-X are both technically up there. Did you check out Yuki’s Bohemian Rhapsody? She’s criminally overlooked! My favorite is Toki, I’m not going to even try to argue she’s “the best”, or “no one gets close” though, that’s just missing out on some excellent music.
@@allanmoger1838 “I think Midori is every bit as good as Miyako” To me Midori is a bit more technically proficient at guitar than Miyako, but when just speaking talent-wise, Miyako makes up for this difference in other areas (like songwriting and piano). “yes, both Hal-ca and Li-Sa-X are both technically up there” For female Japanese guitarists, when using more specificity, I would actually put them at the very top of the pyramid. I did a lot of comparing, before I concluded this. “Did you check out Yuki’s Bohemian Rhapsody? She’s criminally overlooked!” Well I don’t think I’ve heard many mention her in a best list. Do you have some live videos to link of her? Warning: I might not give an agreeable answer though, so you might not want to share. I tend to just give my honest opinion here. I think there are so many good female Japanese guitarists, so when determine the best, leaves so many otherwise good guitarists out.
I like this listing and agree. However the Sukiyaki sister of Bridear as well as Solo artists like Yashiro,Sally,Mayto,etc... do deserve honorable mentions. I think we can all agree there is no shortage of Female Japanese Superior guitarists. Hell most of you could name 30 off the top of your head.

I debated people who thought Kanami is better than Miyako and Midori, but it would be even more ridiculous if someone thought she is better than Hal-ca and Li-sa-X.
