This is why I love ACE Team. Their games might not be the most polished, but they always try to do something creative and completely out of the left field in every new game.
Dick Starspeed sounds eerily familiar to the voice over to the Metal Wolf introduction, I kept waiting him to say something about alien coup d'etat forces.
Being from Roswell...I have to say. It's nice seeing a 50's alien comic styled game done in such an authentic way, and it helps me appreciate our culture more.
If you guys want to see what the monkeys were spinning, I just got to that part on my playthrough of this game on my channel. Its "Part 7 - Meeting The Emperor" if you guys are curious about it. Also, its near the end of the video if you don't want to sit through it all.
I watched this video and their Deadly Premonition LP is just littering the side of the screen now. I think it's time to re-watch that glorious wreck again.
"If you listen carefully you can hear the echo of the raging salt-infused ramblings of a short guy in the background of the video. That's our 'fall guy' Pat. Now I don't recall how Pat got on the crew in the first place, something about a Mom and Woollen Holes, but people loved to see him play with balls on live shows. I think I remembered that right."
I like the concept of the game, but the delivery of the director is a problem for me. He sounds like he's doing a voice/being a character instead of being the character of the director, if that makes sense to anyone. Like I feel he should sound more laid back or matter-of fact in his speech, like something closer to what The Beginner's guide did. Not that he can't have over the top moments or bits like he does, but it just takes me out of the idea that this is the movie's director speaking with the delivery they went with. Maybe it's just me.
+AussieDragoon The kind of character you're describing wouldn't fit at all with the tone of the game. The game is a parody of low-budget 1950s B-movies. The actor they have fits perfectly as a director of those types of movies. He cares more about action than story, he thinks he's a much better director than he is, he's cheap, he's stupid, he's a chauvinist, he's every cliched 50s B-movie director rolled into one. Which is perfect because parody is all about exaggerating tropes and cliches. You couldn't have a smart and sensible character as the director because a smart and sensible director doesn't make schlock.
PsychoNerd92 I didn't say chance the character, I said chance the performance because he sounds like he's playing a role, not being a character. I'm fine with him being all those things as the character, but the cadence of his voice is too forced and it takes me out of the concept. It's my own personal hang up, sure, but he sounds like Will Ferrell doing Robert Goulet or Norm McDonald doing Burt Reynolds, it's entertaining as a parody because of how forced it is, and to a degree you need that kind of character here as well since it is a parody itself, but they never truly feel like they are the character they're trying to be.
+AussieDragoon He's giving DVD commentary, even though its "Supposed" to be his real thoughts hes reading it off the script he wrote himself. (and he's bad at it since he doesn't give a fuck) Trust me there are some pretty bad commentaries if you look for them.
Loving the feel of this game! I really need to pick it up, great video as always! I wonder what Liam is going to spend that paycheck on once he finally gets it...
It's weird how this game, so rooted in 1950s sci-fi schlock movies, has what appear to be references to Space Invaders, Pulp Fiction, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. (I'm kidding about that last one.)
Man, I love Ace Team games. They usually aren't the best in terms of game mechanics, but sure make up for it when it comes to concept and visual design. I still enjoy Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages for the sheer absurdity of both of them.
I dont know why it took me until 14 minutes in to realize this but this game reminds me of Bastion. I'm sure there's been games even before Bastion that's done this top down-ish action game that plays with it's environment and focuses on very active narration but Bastion is obviously one of if not the most known one. Perhaps credit is due to this game since it took me that long to realize it, shows that it's not just a rip-off.
Not watching this cuz I wanna LP this game soon, but holy crap this is like, B-Movie paradise.
+Goose Boose inb4 people claim I'm "subtly advertising my channel because I mentioned the fact that I do LP's
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
+Goose Boose Now you really fucked it!
Mostly Hamless ok
The artistic gymnastics that went into making this dated aesthetic compelling and entertaining for a video game is incredible.
This is why I love ACE Team. Their games might not be the most polished, but they always try to do something creative and completely out of the left field in every new game.
It's fuckin' MST3K: The Movie: The Game.
"This isn't paper... some kinda video game."
"Ah no sir, That's paper."
+The Pickles " Joel I'm in one of these boxes. Come find me~"
+Oldsong69 "Our chair technology is lightyears ahead of yours."
Waffles.
13:08
"I just can't get enough of Dick spinning"
This game is amazing.
8:25 Boom Mic Count: 1
+kruaser123 Oh man
I never even noticed
time to replay
Holy shit. This is so inside on B-Movies that it is inverting itself.
Tales of the Inverting Meta.
This game came out of nowhere so hard, I can't get over how in love with it I am.
huh, this actually looks great. and it's currently on sale. I might have to pick this up.
Why doesn't it say Part 1 on the title? We need more deadly monsters.
Woolie is the only deadly monster the channel needs.
Zane Seibert Good one :)
I was getting use to Naruto and was excited
+visoredgruntR34 Don't worry just raise your Zangetsu up and give Naruto your OnePiece to make him come back.
I do believe the robot actor not being credited is a reference to R2-D2's actor in Star Wars
This is so high concept.. its amazing
"I just can't get enough of Dick spinning." I can't believe they did that joke...
+MrAnimeopera You can't believe they made a dick joke with a character named Dick?
MelBrooksKA Right. I shouldn't be so shocked. This whole game is a series of lame jokes.
MrAnimeopera Two Best Friends is a series of lame jokes....
MelBrooksKA
That's why we love em'.
+MrAnimeopera It was lame but I still laughed.
This is actually a good game, especially if you're into cheesy monster and scifi flicks!
Deadly Tower of Pat's Mom
+N00BSYBORG The deadliest monster
+N00BSYBORG at the top is woolie's hole
+N00BSYBORG I dunno, I think that's a little on the nose.
+N00BSYBORG Deadly Tower of Reverse Woolie Hole
+Nightweaver1 Yeah, the tower is on Pat's Mom's nose. That's how big she is and that's also where Pat came from.
This is by far the coolest thing I've seen this month. It makes me tingle in places I've never tingles before.
I hope that at some point in this game there will be a dinosaur boss that's just a green-screened iguana.
And yeah, that did happen in the 50's.
this is everything i want in a cheesy movie. literally everything.
This isn't Monster Rancher.
This is so aesthetically pleasing!! I love this.
Is this the predecessor to Castle Super Beast?
It would be great if Dick Starspeed was played by Bruce Campbell.
Dudeee yes
Dick Starspeed sounds eerily familiar to the voice over to the Metal Wolf introduction, I kept waiting him to say something about alien coup d'etat forces.
Thanks for not spoiling the whole game. I'm real interested in it now.
Man Mr.Snipy-Snip was getting bored and went to town on this video.
I love the how half the related videos are just Deadly Premonition episodes.
Being from Roswell...I have to say. It's nice seeing a 50's alien comic styled game done in such an authentic way, and it helps me appreciate our culture more.

Man's got a point though. If you're forced to cast someone you don't want to, at least make sure they're hot.
"Those Mods gettin' that exposure lately" We're gonna use that Exposure Matt! WE'RE GONNA BE BIG!
This game is so underrated, wish it had been popular enough to get a sequel
This is the most meta, fourth wall breaking thing I've ever seen, an I love it.
I watched this video and their Deadly Premonition LP is just littering the side of the screen now.
I think it's time to re-watch that glorious wreck again.
I want the camera to zoom out and find out your Fallout 4 character was watching this entire game and this was all just a spinoff in disguise
This is the most meta of metas I've ever seen and I love it.
Okay, the interocitor killed me when it showed up. Well played, game.
Oh this looks like so much fun! I love Stop motion boss fights!
I want a full LP of this thing so badly.
This was a very fun game to play, while I was expecting the worst. One of those few games I would like to get all the secrets and dialogue.
Oh my god this is amazing.
Well this just got added to my list of downloads for the future
,,Matt is the key to all of this... He's the funny one. He's a funnier character than we've ever had in our videos before. Hopefully it'll work.''
Even having dialogue for spinning in place. How very Bastion of this game.
The art direction. Jesus, the art direction.
Who drew that thumbnail of Woolie chasing that short-haired girl?
It's Plague's interpretation of Woolie playing Persona 4 and going after Chie.
It's like poetry, you know? They rhyme, one after the other.
...I don't know how to feel about this.
So many things to take out of context in this video... I get the feeling Zone is lurking around somewhere.
Ah Liam, the greatest gunjumper in the world, Big Boss.
600 hours of Ground Zeros though so it's fine...

+AussieDragoon Yeah, you're right.
remember, this is the director doing an official DVD commentary.

Okay. Full LP when? Cause this shit is amazing.
I want a full LP of this.
Loving the feel of this game! I really need to pick it up, great video as always! I wonder what Liam is going to spend that paycheck on once he finally gets it...
Finally a break from Nawhoto, let me adsorb this American cinematography!
Dude that end-slate music was definitely used in war of the monsters, a neat little coincidence
It's weird how this game, so rooted in 1950s sci-fi schlock movies, has what appear to be references to Space Invaders, Pulp Fiction, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. (I'm kidding about that last one.)
Here we see Matt not being allowed to MUTE THE ANNOUNCERS like a fool.
Man, I love Ace Team games. They usually aren't the best in terms of game mechanics, but sure make up for it when it comes to concept and visual design. I still enjoy Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages for the sheer absurdity of both of them.
I think the dialogue for Nova spinning in place is also referencing meat spin.
I kinda want a full series for this
We need these people to make a video game adaptation of Danger 5.
Now you need to do a whole playthrough of this and war of the monsters at the same time for maximum b-movie
I actually want to see this as a movie now.
8:26 oh my God I love that they even had the fucking boom mike showing up there. That's the best in B-Movies.
Dude? That synthesized voice they used for the Robot's speech is the same voice that "Bonzi Buddy" used.
Dick Starspeed looks just like Sky Briggs from the Goldeneye remake. I also enjoyed how the robot referenced Pulp Fiction's bible reference.
I was staring at this on psn for the past couple of days. Looks like I'm going to buy it!
I need more of this
not just the lp
but the game igself
10:05 "later in the game enemies can climb up" So this game has a Temp-- I mean, Forbidden Planet minigame.
The Eliminators escaped from Resi Zero and are invading other games!
Full LP please. Super funny!
15 seconds in and i'm already reminded of War Of The Monsters for the PS2. Damn, we need a fisticuffs on that.
W H E N ' S W E A P O N L O R D
I want a Daredevil story that's just a courtroom drama.
I dont know why it took me until 14 minutes in to realize this but this game reminds me of Bastion. omg this is such a cool game didn't noticed what the theme was
aww this takes me back.
Imagine a survival horror game in the style of the Nosferatu movie from 1922.
Why are all the Deadly Premonition videos suddenly showing up in the related videos tab?
Come on, Full LP of Dark Void, now!
WAS THAT INTRO MUSIC FROM WAR OF THE MONSTERS?!
BOY FUCKING WAS IT
Damn. Kinda want a full LP
Wow, three videos in a row centered around monsters?
What is this 1950's sci-fi?
+ghostfear2011 Something to take your mind off the pain of Nerudoe.
AfroMetalMizu I'll take anything. I swear I'll turn goth before it's over.
+ghostfear2011 There's even strings on the guy's back in the falling segment. A funny touch.
+N00VSYBORG If you squint hard enough.
***** The suffering will continue.
Goddamit I wanna Full LP! Make it happen Zaibatsu Friends!
I can't believe how fast Matt was on the Alpha Chimp comment.
I actually wanted to see what was at the top of the tower
Atlus. Yet again. I love you.
>Hear Liam's voice
Auto-close.
So Liam does spec work for the zaibatsu huh? That explains a few things...
are you guys going to do a playthrough of this?
I like to Imagine the Dan Smith in this game is somehow related to the Dan Smith in Killer 7.
okay. so why am i getting a shit ton of deadly premonition related videos now?
The monkey is grinding so it one day too, can have a Naruto: The Broken Bond LP
That War of the Monsters music though.
4:40 That's not even a stegosaurus!
...Why do I even care at this point?
Damn this is a pretty high concept for a videmo gayme!
dat War of the Monsters into music...
Those lizard guys looked an awful lot like the Sleestack from Land of the Lost.
